At 6’0’’ and 160 pounds, Gō falls squarely in the middleweight boxing class. However thanks to the lean composition of his muscles they can often be obscured by Gō's choice in clothes. Nevertheless when in the ring and without his shirt, it immediately becomes obvious that Gō’s possesses strong, well defined muscles. He is not, after all, a boxer just for show. Every pound of Gō packs a proverbial punch.
His skin tone is what one would expect of his ethnicity, and his face is typically adorned with a jovial smile. However what is most striking about his appearance is the premature gray hair. Much like his father, Gō also suffers from early grays, but he does little to try and hide the inevitable. As such his hair is mostly gray at this point with only a few black strands left. In terms of clothing he tends to keep himself well dressed, pants and button up serving as his normal apparel. Proper apparel is after all an important part of being a functional member of society. One of the first things a stranger might notice about Gō is his willingness to always lend a helping hand. He is a man who very firmly believes in the value of assisting others and setting a good example for the generations to come after him. In short he prides himself on being the kind of person that anyone can count on. That’s not of course to say that he’s some pushover, it’s just that he finds that assisting others on noble endeavours is the first step in living a righteous life. It matters little to him who the other person might be, just that they are someone in need of help and he will be more than willing to provide that assistance. In particular Gō takes his role as an upperclassmen very seriously and is the kind of guy who finds a lot of worth in lending his underclassmen a hand. He’s a man that always strives to protect those he can as though they were his own flesh and blood little siblings.
However when he’s not doing his best to help and teach others, Gō can be found gushing over old super hero stories, particularly Tokusatsu shows like Kamen Rider. From when he was young, he dreamed of being a hero himself, although as he got older he realized more and more how difficult that was in a traditional sense. By the time he had graduated High School, he’d made peace with the fact that his time to be a superhero had passed, and thus he focused his passion for justice towards a different field. As such he is currently finishing up his Pre-Law degrees, in particular he’s working towards his major in Criminal Justice. His reasoning being that if he can’t find justice with his own two fists, he’ll find it with his mind through the legal path.
Speaking of his fists, Gō is also rather driven, a trait that can be seen in his dedication to his chosen sport: boxing. It’s of little surprise that Gō is currently the captain of the school’s boxing club. Indeed, whatever Gō commits himself to, he’ll give a 110%. Sometimes this can backfire as he focuses too much on his singular goal and lets other things fall by the wayside, but for the most part this dedication has served him well. As such it is rare to see Gō doing nothing at all, whether it be in his training, studies, or just engrossed in a game, Gō is not the kind of person who enjoys lazing around and doing nothing at all. This nigh workaholic attitude can lead to Gō feeling overwhelmed, although he’ll never let it show, instead preferring to be his typical, jovial self.

Masamune Gō was born to a fairly typical situation. He was the son of two first generation immigrants and born and raised in Midwestern suburbs. Much of his youth was spent enjoying all forms of entertainment, and thanks to his heritage, he was in the unique situation of enjoying both American and Japanese entertainment. He’d be one of those few kids that knew Super Sentai as well as he knew Power Rangers. G-Gundam was just as much his jam as Megas XLR. Initial D and Need For Speed: Underground both competed for his attention as great racing games, although Initial D had the benefit of being a good show as well. Really if a show or game had heroes in it he’d probably enjoyed it.
That said the biggest love for Gō was always Toku shows, particularly Kamen Rider. He grew up with Kuuga and his love has persisted to this days. Something about the ideals of justice and the kick ass suits really resonated with the young boy. For years Gō secretly dreamed of becoming a hero like them one day, although High School would eventually crush that dream. Still much of Gō’s unwavering hope and belief in human life comes from his years watching, reading and playing media involving heroes.
Outside of yearly trips to visit his cousins in Japan, Gō’s life was fairly ordinary. He did alright in school and was decently athletic, but for all intents and purposes he was just an ordinary kid. He hung out with friends on the weekends and helped out around the house. Normal stuff. Although one slight difference Gō had to reconcile with from a young age was being the caretaker of his younger siblings, since his parents were often busy with work. Still even that wasn’t insanely difficult, but it did allow Gō to grow up a little more responsible than the rest of his friends.
It wasn’t until his middle school years that Gō was introduced to the realm of boxing. Through what basically amounted to luck, one of Gō’s friends invited him to the club he had recently begun working out at. Originally Gō, who wasn’t all that interested in athletics, merely figured he'd duck his head in to appease his friend and then be on his way. However after just a few minutes of messing around Gō found that he actually enjoyed being in an environment where everyone was pushing themselves. By the end of the day, Gō was a member of the club.
Gradually Gō improved and he quickly got into shape as his dedication to the sport increased. The somewhat aimless boy, finally found himself with a direction and realized how much he loved that feeling. Boxing brought structure to the boy’s life and he began participating in tournaments and competitions in his local area. Truth be told it wasn’t so much the fighting that brought Gō joy, but the discipline and the exhilaration of competing with another in a 1 on 1 situation. There was something about it that just captivated him.
Outside of boxing however, Gō was still lacking in motivation. In many ways he was still that carefree daydreamer who just wanted to be a hero. As a result while he never did poorly perse, there was little in school he wanted to invest himself in. This continued for some time. Even as the rest of his friends started formulating plans for their life, Gō remained at a loss. It wasn’t until High School that a new avenue would open up for him.
The path towards his future opened up while at the gym when Gō was training for an upcoming match. It wasn’t anything out of the ordinary, just a regular day. However as night approached the gym grew empty except for Gō and his trainer, and then a clattering noise was heard at the back door. Turns out the noise was the result of a young man breaking into the gym and to make matters worse he was armed. As he yelled at Gō’s trainer to head over the money, Gō felt it was finally his chance to be a hero.
He was wrong.
Lucky for him, before the amateur boxer could do anything reckless, his trainer had stuck out a hand. As the two of the stood there, Gō’s path blocked by the man Gō was trying to protect, his trainer said something that’s stuck with Gō to this day. “Listen up kid, don’t try and be a hero, work towards a cure. Ending up dead won’t help anyone.”
On that day, Gō learned that his fists wouldn’t reach, but they didn’t always have to. Not long afterwards the robber was caught, tried and arrested. It turned out he was a repeat felon, who had only recently been released from prison. For Gō this only served to provide further meaning to the words of his trainer, what this society didn’t need was him jumping in and getting himself killed, it needed a legal system that worked. The cure his trainer had been talking about was a system where people didn’t find themselves backed into corners where crime became the only escape they saw.
It was on that day that Gō decided his future.
From then on, Gō found himself driven in another facet of his life. He worked hard to bring his grades up, showing an unwavering dedication to his final goal of eventually getting into a top rate law school. When graduation finally rolled around, Gō’s grades were the best they’d ever been and he found himself with a hefty merit scholarship to Straider University. After looking into the Pre-Law program, Gō figured it’d be a good place to get his bachelor’s. Not to mention they apparently had a decent boxing club.
During the past few years at Straider, Gō found himself constantly helping others, not that he minded. Meanwhile he steadily progressed through his classes on track for his eventual goal of getting into a top rate Law School. During his third year he also became captain of the school’s boxing club, which is a title he currently holds. All things considered his life up till now has been progressing smoothly. While normally not one to participate in studies that involve the digestion of substances that could affect his performance, Gō decided to partake in Rohrbach’s study after Eastwood asked for a wingman.
Gō’s life is about to get complicated once more.
