Oh are we shipping already? BRB gonna go write some slash
Hmmm, I'm not usually keen on playing multiple characters. I'll think about it.

Speaking of characters, @Ogobrogo@caliban22, what news from you guys?
Tunks gonna tunk. Pull aggro, make it rain.

@Firey sword. Maybe just expand on that? It ignites things it touches maybe? Including normally non-flammable things, like earth and rock, so Kain could use it to make walls of fire, funnel enemies towards him and block off our squishy deeps in the back there.

I'm also just imagining Kain throwing the lance. They're gonna need a jackhammer and some industrial drills to get it out again.
Update my CS with my banner and resized image. Also put in images for Cas' weapon and Aeon.
@Malphaestus Pretty sure we're always open to new players!

@Legion02 Nice post, played out very well. Pierces the Void is gonna get blowed up in my next post. Induced reactor overload. Kaboom.

@VoiD Do you want to use the pad or PM's to do a bit of a collab to wrap up our little skirmish?
Thanks to Rockette for resized image and awesome banner!

"My will is a citadel in the storm"
Jared Castor Dameron
25 | May 12th. | 6’0. | SOLDIER First Class.

appearance.
Stocky and bull like, Cas is well muscled with a thick build. He keeps his hair in a military style buzz cut, but lets his beard grow thick and full along his wide, square jawline. His thick eyebrows seem to be perpetually locked into a faint frown, though his soft, deep set eyes are much gentler. Usually brown in colour, his eyes occasionally glow a brilliant fiery orange when Cas is deeply in tune with his Aeon. His nose is thickened and slightly bent, the result of numerous breaks over the years.

personality.
Stoic would be a word that comes to mind when describing Cas. He’s not exactly quiet; he doesn’t hesitate to offer his opinion or say what’s on his mind, but he does choose his moments carefully. Disciplined would be another word, perhaps the defining word. From his morning routine to his meals to his combat stance, Cas is maintains perfect control over himself and his body. His room and uniform are consistently immaculate; his beard perfectly trimmed; his weight precisely 180lbs.

This discipline acts as a dam holding back a tidal wave of pure rage. In his former life as a professional fighter, Cas never had to amp himself up for a fight; he simply had to let go. In the heat of battle especially, Cas can become an unstoppable juggernaut of destructive fury.

It’s not all bad news though. Cas full to bursting with empathy for others, and--though he doesn’t like to publicise this--he is the perfect shoulder to cry on. Cas sees this aspect of himself as a weakness, and only reveals it to close friends. To the rest of the world, he tries to present a toughened image.

biography/background.
Born to a prestigious military family, Cas had nothing short of a happy childhood, which abruptly ended when his father disappeared after Cas’ eighth birthday. It wasn’t long before the news came that his father had not simply disappeared, but defected to SeeR, casting a shadow of suspicion over Cas and his family that would never go away.

As he grew up, his father remained a sore point for Cas. Whispers followed him through school, and he started getting into frequent fights, usually after one too many kid called him “traitor”. Desperate to find an outlet for her son’s anger, Cas’ mother signed him up for martial arts classes. He struggled to find a discipline that suited him at first, but finally found a good fit in Geschwindigkeits Schub, a style that emphasized powerful grapples and heavy strikes. Cas excelled at the discipline, and began to play strike ball, an extremely popular and extremely brutal sport that involved two teams of three fighting each other while simultaneously trying to score points by throwing a ball into one of three goals in a hexagon shaped ring.

By 16, Cas had devoted almost his entire life to strike ball. He got into university on scholarship, and was drafted into a professional league after graduating at 21. However, the shadow of his father’s betrayal still hung over Cas, complicated further by a deeply secret aspect of his personal life that was...incongruous with the macho image of strike ball. The whispers that had plagued him through school followed him into the league, and one day Cas lost control and beat a teammate to the brink of death after a game. Cas was promptly banned from the sport, and turned to the military out of desperation, but his family legacy meant there was no place for him amongst the officers or even the rank and file men. His last hope was SOLDIER, a program known to take almost anyone.

weapon{s}.
A long, twin pronged lance made of carbon nano-infused steel, Cas’ lance is incredibly resilient and almost light enough to be used by a normal person. Cas is highly skilled with the weapon and can use it in a variety of situations; at long range, his superhuman strength lets him throw the lance with tremendous force. At closer ranges, he can skillfully use it to keep melee assailants from getting too close. Should they manage to press in to close quarters, Cas can use the lance as a quarterstaff.

skillset.
Sentinel
Hand to hand combat
Extreme wilderness survival

ability.
Fire Phantom
When Cas attacks his enemies, a flaming phantasmal version of himself executes alternate attacks, effectively letting him attack multiple enemies at once or use multiple different attacks simultaneously.

Aeon
Gwyn, the eternal flame
Red, Colourless ┊ Discipline, Empathy, Fury
Gwyn is time, light, and rage. Gwyn is the flickering camp fire that comforts lost souls in the night. Gwyn is a roaring inferno that swallows everything in its path. Gwyn is eternal and ever changing.

limit/overdrive.
Pyroclasm
When Cas is sufficient angry, Gwyn’s fury erupts in a massive firestorm that burns enemies to ashes. However, the same flames that obliterate Cas’ enemies rejuvenate and refresh his allies.

Miscellaneous
  • Cas is an accomplished survivalist, having completed every survival course available to SOLDIERs, both mandatory and optional
  • Cas is the youngest of three brothers. He was going to have a younger brother, but the child died from a genetic heart defect only a few months old. Cas has that date tatood on his chest.
  • Cas absolutely hates his first name, and firmly believes that Jared is a name exclusively for assholes.

I guess it's because I was raised a country that doesn't have spring or autumn, just hot and moderately hot.(which is technically winter there)

Born and raised in Canada. Radical temperature differences are overrated. Good winter jackets are expensive as hell, and then you also need shorts and stuff.

Also, added Cas to the characters tab.
Done my CS, PM'd it to Rockette for approval :)
And posted.
Jarvoff

Jarv gasped as Red knocked the wind out of him. Definitely not a dream. He suddenly realized he’d made a bit of an ass of himself, and spread his hands placatingly. “Hey bud, sorry about that, Red was it? I was just testing something. You know how you can never throw a punch in a dream? It always feels like your arm’s moving through water. Or when you’re running, like you’re running through quicksand. I’m about 80% sure this isn’t a dream.”

Secretly Jarv was thinking it was a virtual reality experience of some kind, and the two he were talking to were probably simulated. He’d probably been involved in some kind of VR experiment, somehow, and something had gone wrong. It was likely just him though; it seemed pretty unlikely that a bunch of other people had also been involved in the incident.

He turned to the woman, “I didn’t catch your name. I’m Jarv, and no more trouble, I promise,” he said as he extended a greeting hand.
