Make it clear that you don't need him to be reading Dante tomorrow. Also suggest it would be fun if you had a private language that you could use to mock English speakers in secret.

@POOHEAD189 must answer for what he has done!
Kyiriniae'aea observed the goblinoids for a few moments. Both her High Elven kin and her Dark Elven Goddess despised such creatures. The presence of the human child did not concern her overmuch, but nor was she inclined to leave the creature to be slaughtered if it could be turned to her advantage. The elven sorceress was no warrior, but she knew that guile was a better weapon than steel in almost any situation. She crouched down behind a tree stump and took a moment to plan. Four goblins would be a handful but there were ways to even the odds. Volduressë looked with favor on those who had others fight their battles for them and so she followed her Goddess' command.

The Elven sorceress began to weave her fingers into an intricate patter, the position of each finger tip as precise as a master musician beginning a tune on a harp. The spell built as she planned the next few seconds, magic flowing into her being as the weave tightened and gained form. When it was ready she released it with a snap of energy evident to her magically attuned senses. The spell was aimed not at the goblins, but at the human. The child's scream of terror suddenly turned into a scream as its body seemed to twist and reshape itself in accordance with Kyiriniae'aea's design. In the blink of an eye the goblin was holding not a human child, but a scorpion the size of a large cat, venom dripping from its stinger and pincers snapping.

At the same time she used a simple trick, changing the hue of the bright fire to the black glowing light of a sacrificial flame. Its unnatural light flickering of the scorpion child's carapace.

A slow smile spread over Rene's face as his concerns about interstellar navigation and diplomacy slid into the back of his mind. There wasn't really a time limit to the task and they had already made more progress than the Kalderi had in their investigation. The fact they had sighted the Corsica meant the likelyhood of them finding the fugitives eventually was excellent.

"Well, while I have no doubt that the Kalderi are worthy of continued intense study... I was just about to ask a pretty girl to take a walk with me..."

"HK-421," Rene said with satisfaction. He spun on the console seat he had been sitting at. It was early afternoon the day after their visit to the trading quarter. The two humans had spent a pleasant evening strolling on the artificial strand before taking a meal at the one restaurant in the trading quarter. It hadn't been a great meal as such things went, but it had been spicy, filling and most of all human. Kalderi fare was edible but without much character. It was a marked improvement on anything Rene had eaten since he had enlisted, with the possible exception of what had been available while they were with Ten on Zatis, though truthfully, with the threat of imminent death approaching the PEA array Rene hadn't taken much joy of it. The wine had actually been fairly respectable and it had been the first decent meal they had enjoyed together in safety. All in all it had been a wonderful evening, a fond memory to be stored for hard times ahead.

"Are you sure?" Rosaria asked, looking up from whatever it was she had been reading. Rene wasn't sure what files she was accessing but he was fairly certain that it had nothing to do with the search for the missing Kalderi. That didn't mean she was wasting her time of course, far from it, she lacked the expertise to be of much use in such a search having had no astronav training and having an only academic appreciation of the universe beyond Zatis. He hoped she wasn't simply reading literature, though he didn't know what other activity would be of help at his point. They had gathered on the Bonaventure in order to have better access to Mia and, subconsciously, to continue the previous evening of 'humanness' as best they could. It also gave them some privacy from their Kalderi hosts, which probably wasn't necessary, but there was always the chance they would discover something that it might make sense to conceal from the Kalderi, at least for a time.

"Yes," Rene said with certainty, he waved his hand at his display, it was unidirectional but Mia, as always, picked up on the intent of the gesture and an omnidirectional holographic system. The hologram showed a composite star chart and sensor readings from their encounter with the derelict Corsica.

"They abandoned the Corsica, probably intended to from the beginning," Rene explained, "I guess they could come back for the ship when the heat was off because they system they jumped to is rarely visited, we wouldn't have gone there except to throw off pursuit." The hologram shifted as Rene manipulated the controls changing a portion of it to a visual screen showing the Corsica hanging in space.

"They used an escape pod, a small one jumper I suppose, to light out of there. Under normal circumstances it would have been undetectable," Rene went on. The view zoomed in on a section of the hull that looked like an open airlock.

"Luckily the Corsica was leaky enough that there was some gas at the moment of launch," he told them. A red line extended from the image as Mia zoomed the view out, first to the stellar and then to the interstellar scale. The line touched dozens of systems as its uncertainty spread over time, but only one of those systems, the computer designated HK-421, both lay on the track and was among the list of worlds Solae had winowed from the assembled files of the human traders, all of whom had been eager to cooperate rather than risk losing their trading privileges.

"Are there settlements there?" Yarue asked from his own console, the Syshin had been silent so long Rene had almost forgotten he was present.

"Nothing listed, just an astronomical survey that says there are planets," Rene admitted. Exploration this close to the Kalderi border was minimal, the risk of angering the alien race had been deemed too great, at least while there were still plenty of undeveloped worlds for the humans to exploit.

"But I think it is a fair bet that Bouradine knows something we don't..."
"Storm?" A one eyed Nord laughed derisively, "boy this is not storm, a balmly fall day is all!" The surrounding Nord roared with laughter at the comment. Kris managed to avoid rolling her eyes by long practice. Such nonsensical bragadicio was nothing knew to her, she had known Nord scouts to lose toes to frostbite rather than admit it was snowing. Everything in Skyrim was always bigger, badder and more ferocious than anywhere else. The Imperial who had asked the question cursed bitterly.

"How am I ever to get my goods to Whiterun before the snows block the passes?" he whined. One of the local Nords, drunker than the others, staggered to his feet and let out a deafening belch. He took a couple of steps towards the merchant, drops of ale dribbling from his lank blond beard as he did so.

"You trading with those traitors in Whiterun, we ought to string you up for collaborating Imperial," the man snarled. The merchant might have done any number of things to defuse the situation, calling back an insult would probably have worked, simply ignoring the drunken boor might have done the job too, instead the man's hand instinctively went to the hilt of a short sword he wore buckled beneath his cloak. The Nord let out a bellow and lurched forward, lifting up the table and dumping it, contents and all atop the merchant. The Imperial rolled under it, coming up with his shoulder braced, driving it into the Nord's stomach hard enough to drive the wind from his lungs in an audible woof. Men and women of a half dozen kingdoms were grabbing for weapons now and at least one, a sinister looking dark elf, appeared to be readying a spell. Kris picked up a clay flagon and hurled it at the elf striking him between the eyes with a thunk a moment before the bar disintegrated into chaos.

"Get the lizard men!" another Nord shriekd, rushing at an Argonian who has been sitting quietly in the corner oppoiste to Dax and Kris. A pair of wood elves leaped to their feet a moment before a Kaijhit slashed at one of them with clawed fingers. The bar was rapidly dissolving into a melee of people out to settle grudges real or imagined. Kris wasn't eager to see the inside of a jail when the Stormcloaks arrived and she tried to back away, but the Nord who had precipitated the fight grabbed the merchant and hurled him at her. His body struck her a glancing blow and sent her spinning to the ground. Roaring like a bear the Nord rushed after his intended victim. Kris drove her booted foot hard against the side of his knee as he passed. The Nord howled with pain as he went down in a crash, fingers outstretched for the merchants throat.

Anya snatched up her sword and darted after the priest. The shrieks of the bandits were ghastly as the shadow beasts fell upon them, rending and tearing. Kaseem Bai hurled a dreadful curse at them as they fled and Anya pivoted smoothly to strike sparks as she batted away the warlords thrown dagger. It had been foolish of him to shout but she supposed it wasn't the worst mistake he had made this day. With a burst of speed she looped after the priest, deflecting a spear thrust from one of the wide eyed bandits and taking his throat with her riposte. The pair of them darted through the door of the ancient structure and Abelard raised his staff again. Stone shrieked as the ancient portal began to seal itself, not quickly but with the inexorable inevitability of a tide coming in, or a glacier sliding towards the ocean. The entry stones boomed together, abruptly cutting off the screams of dying bandits as completely as if they had existed only in the imagination of the listeners.

"I'd give you my thanks priest," Anya said, pausing to spit towards the now sealed portal, "but I don't know if our situation is better or worse."

"We are alive," Abelard replied austerly and turned towards the passageway ahead of them. The walls were of sandstone, smoothed but not built, as though it had once been a cave that had been laboriously polished to remove the worst of its irregularity. A thick mist filled it that reminded Anya of the unexplored jungles that stretched for uncounted miles in the lands beyond the forbidding southern borders of Stygia. There was something else on the air too, a faint taste of sulphur that put Anya in mind of the volcanic hotsprings of Trondhel or Aikanaborg. The mist was so thick they could see no more than a few feet infront of them as they edged their way down the passage until they found an opening. Anya had seen many things in her life that others might deem strange, but the sight before them was more incredible than any she had yet witnessed. The passage opened onto a lush fog shrouded jungle, the air so humid that water condensed in droplets on the tip of her blade. Vast trees reached up towards the sky and large leafed plants squatted at their bases. Strange animals called and hooted in the jungle and lizard like creatures skittered and leaped from the wrist thick vines which hung like spider webs. Vast columns of greenish soapstone reached upwards into the low hanging mist which was none the less illuminated by a sickly green yellow light beyond. There was no way that this place existed within the structure they had scene in the desert, either in scale or in the alien aspect of the jungle which was unlike anything Anya had scene.

"By Wotan's eye," she marveled, staring in awe at the landscape before her.
Sir this is a Wendys.

I think there are plenty of people here who enjoy tabletop, we just do it on different sites like roll 20 or RPOL that are designed for that.
