I posted my app in the character tab. There's still some stuff that needs to be filled out and some stuff that could change before the RP starts, but I'll mention any important changes. I'd love to have a fancy logo but I'm a terrible artist.

Omnistellar Works is the offspring of Argus Defense Solutions, a controversial Martian corporation that dealt in corporate espionage. Before the coup, Argus Defense Solutions operated on the edge between legality and illegality, conducting its often unethical business right under the nose of the colonial government, but taking the necessary precautions to ensure the plausible deniability that kept it from being shut down. The company was rumored to conduct espionage for other corporations, the Earth government, and even the Martian Revolutionary Front.

During its heyday, Argus Defense Solutions masqueraded as a company dealing with the research and development of experimental technology, and went to great lengths to maintain that illusion through investments into various forms of tech, as well as partaking in the actual development and testing of weapon systems for personal and military use. In reality, the company systematically gathered information on other corporations, which they used and sold through intermediaries.

Months before the Federation's coup, Argus Defense Solutions was targeted by the authorities on Earth and became at risk of total shutdown, and prosecution. As a result, the company's earnings plummeted as clients began to distance themselves. During that time, Argus Defense Solutions was secretly contacted by government officials through intermediaries who offered amnesty in exchange for the corporation's services. Wary of a trap, Matias Makinen - the company's CEO - turned down the offer.

Argus Defense Solutions was contacted again shortly after in a more transparent manner and Matias Makinen was brought up to speed on the coming conspiracy to overthrow the Earth government. Argus was to be one of many corporations secretly preparing to back the military-led coup months later. Ever cautious, Matias maintained plausible deniability and began to feign assistance, offering what little information he could through indirect sources not easily traced back to Argus Defense Solutions.

Secretly, in the weeks prior to the coup, he began to leak information to the Earth government, hoping to build a case for a pardon by the UN in the event that the Federation failed and the UN was made aware of the corporation's involvement. He was effectively working for both sides, and receiving payments. By the time the coup took place, Argus Defense Solutions had recouped its losses through these secret contracts.

In the months after the Federation's coup, Makinen was made aware, through secret communications and contacts, that the full extent of his involvement had been uncovered. On Earth, the military drag net had rounded up countless people suspected of working against the Federation, and it was only a matter of time before the crackdown reached Mars. Though Makinen could not confirm the authenticity of the claims, he had grown paranoid over the months and felt the Federation could turn on him the way they had against others who had assisted during the coup. He destroyed many documents stashed at the company's headquarters, and suddenly disappeared, bound for Ember.

True to his craft, Makinen gathered information on his would-be competitors, hoping it would give him an edge on the godforsaken planet that awaited him. Though his sudden departure was, at first, simply an escape, Makinen developed ideas for something greater on Ember. There were riches to be had, and he needed that, but having left all that he knew behind, he began to miss the life he had on Mars. This unexpected venture into the mining business was to be a means to an end. Not just a cash-cow, but the foundation of a new planetary order, independent and self-sufficient; Ember was to be his new home.

I suppose it's possible, but bear in mind that Ember (and other previously off-limit worlds) is still a widely unexplored and untamed planet. Animals will have to be domesticated and it would not be an overnight process. If you want to eventually domesticate some alien creature, I'd say that's fine, but there should be an in-character process of some kind. If you want to bring along an Earth dog, that's fine with me.

Quick question: Do we have to pay the ticket price for our leader character as well as crew members or are they considered as having already paid?

You have to pay the ticket for everyone in your initial group. If your group starts with three people, you pay 750. Future crew members will not have to pay a ticket, and instead will arrive on Ember on their own looking for work, and join the various factions.

How well established is the catalog?

Dialectic 0: Beyond Man

I decided to write up something simple 'cause everyone's been silent for a bit.

Name: The Sanctuary

Location: TBD

History:
Before the cataclysm, Sanctuary was known as Star-Voyage Amusement Park, a science fiction theme park built by space enthusiast Randall P. Clark, with the intention of drumming up interest and excitement for the prospect of interstellar travel, which at the time had become a not-so-distant possibility.

By 2128, global tensions were at an all time high, and Clark became worried that global annihilation was near. At around that time, he built an underground vault beneath the park, which he publically advertised as a new attraction meant to simulate an underground space colony. Construction was completed just before the cataclysm that destroyed the world.

Star-Voyage had a large contingent of android workers, which Randall had intended to use as a personal army and workforce in the post-apocalyptic world. He survived the bombardments and would go on to live until his death several decades after the apocalypse. During that time, Clark lived like a post-apocalyptic king, with a legion of android servants heeding his every order.

Clark became obsessed with the acquisition of Old World technology and scoured the wastes for it, using it to further empower himself in a world filled with savages who saw him as some kind of god, wielding magical artifacts. As time passed, he grew more and more twisted, and his androids began to contemplate the meaning of life and their existence in this new world. It wasn't long before they turned on Clark.

In the time after Clark's reign, the amusement park - now called Sanctuary - became a safe haven for androids. The amusement park was built like a castle, with high outer walls, and inner walls that segmented all the different attractions. The androids continued Clark's mission of collecting Old World technology, but instead sought to keep it out of the hands of humans who would inevitably use it against them, or themselves.
