Current Today I reached the conclusion that, if presented with an exact duplicate of herself, one of my characters would DEFINITELY hit that.

They're not LONG chapters; but the fact I've managed to right 2 meh and 4 half decent ones in 4 days makes me very happy with myself.

If you've ever played paintball or laser tag, right now they'd be in the room where you get your mask, vest, and gun; and watch the safety/instruction video. They haven't entered the simulation proper yet. I described Argus opening the door into the staging room at the beginning of my post.

I figured give everyone a chance to have their character suit up and respond to Argus' plan before they start the training exercise.
By the way, for the rifles; rather than your traditional paintball gun, they're real rifles using simunition; that is, police/military training rounds. Actually a pretty cool thing that exists.

It's the nicest looking map I could find on google while looking at paintball and laser tag fields. Basically, it's set up to look like a prison.
@KatherinWinter

Having people run them on their own is the best we can do. I have to admit, I didn't think the whole thing through quite as well as I probably should have.

Rost and Argus

”Once more unto the breach,” Argus declared, stepping forward and pressing the start button for the simulation deck. The metal door slid open with a hiss to reveal the staging area; a plain white-walled room with a few chairs and a map of the arena displayed on a large screen; on the wall opposite the map were seven lockers, each bearing the name of one of the agents present, ”Rost, please tell me this isn’t what I think it is.

Rost shrugged, ”It seemed appropriate, given the friendly nature of the exercise. Besides, everybody loves paintball!” he explained cheerfully, “We’ll be starting at the bus stop, with the opponent team’s base being Intake. Objective is simple, reach the enemy base, capture their flag, and return with it to the bus stop. They will be attempting to do the same whilst preventing us from capturing theirs.”

Argus rolled his eyes, giving a dismissive grunt, “Whatever.” the agent strolled over to the lockers and opened his, inside the locker was a vest, a tactical rifle, five 30 round magazines loaded with strange blue bullets, and a face mask. “Is the gear really necessary? We do have our powers.”

“You’re free not to use them if you prefer, but not all of us agents have the same natural affinity for combat. Richard and I in particular, despite our abilities, are ultimately human; and must rely upon manufactured weapons, which many of you supernaturals do not require.” Rost approached his locker, retrieving the vest and rifle, “You do need to wear the vets though, they have the hit detection and life counter that the simulation will use to determine if you’ve been eliminated by the enemy. Five hits and you’re done” he explained, donning his own vest.

”Fair point. Alright guys and girls, suit up.” Argus ordered, walking over to examine the map, “Okay. Astra, Rost, you’re our last line of defense. Stay at the base, prevent the enemy team from taking the flag at all costs. Griffin, you circle north past Death Row, try and slip into their base and get the flag unnoticed. Mason and Amaya go straight down the middle. If the showers are running, hold the line there; Amaya, use your powers to freeze over the passages and create a choke point through the center. Richard, stick with me; we’ll be heading down the south side making as much noise as possible, try to draw them towards us so Griffin can get into the base. If any of you see an enemy, engage with intent to kill. I don’t know how smart these drones are, but there’s a chance they might catch on to our plan and try to counter it.” he scanned the faces of his teammates, “Any questions?”
@KatherinWinter@Blueflame

Before we start though, somebody needs to take Mason to the armory so he can get a sidearm, as was discussed previously.

EDIT: Actually, I have a better idea.
Makes sense, I suppose.
@KatherinWinter
Oh yeah I'm going to start it, I'm just having one of those "I regret this decision" moments because I don't really know how to proceed, you know?

Like, will the drones be controlled by me as the one who came up with it or by you, the GM.

Anyways, I'll start writing up the intro post for the game.
NGL, I'm starting to wonder if me suggesting it was a bad idea.
I probably could've found a suitable picture, but I have this thing where it's physically painful for me to use other people's artwork without permission.
