A simple priestess that was known in the Northern district as a common face, yet recently had said her farewells to them, having been on a long time break from adventuring. The party that had first put her off the idea of joining the chaotic fray that was the life of adventurers were a little to bloodthirsty for her liking, frightening her of the future that it would bring. Resolving herself to staying within the Andeave as one of the healers of the Church of the First Light, she had learn much about the people living within, having live in the Southeastern district and visiting the others.

Never present in an adventuring party for long, she usually only accompanied those who were heading the right way toward a location that was asking for aid, offering her skill for a temporary spot in the group she was hitching along. Overtime though, she felt that her actions were simply 'reactionary' when she saw all those who were injured and were pressed upon their luck, finally pushing her over the edge when the raid had happened the other week that the sight of those injuries pushed her to become active once more. Lacking the familiarity with many of the adventuring parties around, besides being 'that one priest girl' who always hitches rides, it was difficult for her to find a spot within any dynamic.

Respectfully chatting with the other soloists and deftly avoiding their invitations to make a party, her eyes were keen in looking for a people who were at least average. Someone who she could support and in return they would also support her in whatever they did together, in such a place though it was unlikely. It would be impossible for herself to travel around but with someone else at least capable of carrying themselves, she'd be able to take the two of them further together.

A figured approached her, their armor well handled and taken cared of, that was a good sign and made an instant good impression. Slowly realizing who this person was, for the three horns of their helmet was something distinctive about them when she first met them, another instance of hitching a ride with an adventuring party towards a town who was requesting the aid of a priest. The other was the first to engage in conversation, expecting and receiving what she rightly assumed.

"And if I remembered correctly... A warrior... Yes?" She said, remembering a few of the skills that the other used during combat and besides, a sword on their person definitely limits the classes. "I think that is agreeable, it'll be nice working with you again"

Smiling with her response as two other soldiers backed off when she approach Ettmari, having persistently asking to join together for her skills as a Priestess. Conversation-wise, they were the kind of people she liked to avoid if possible, being too ambitious in her eyes when compared with what really were, boasting and laughing how easy it will be with them. They were the kind of people to bite too much and eventually end up hurt, it was safer for them to not have her and then be reckless on their quests, thinking a priestess would solve all their problems.

Wearing a suit of dark blue in a color bordering almost a blackish purple, with many of its features obscured along with the individual who wears it also obscured. While ornamentation on the armor can be vaguely seen and assumed, it is too difficult to clearly be discerned by even the most acute eyes. // Standing up at a height of 5'11, Ash possesses a petite form with snow white hair and fair skin that seems to never have blemished underneath the touch of the sun. She always leaves her hair down, reaching her to the length of her shoulders as it contrasts to the dark robes she wears as a priestess of the First Sun.

Facade:

// Gwyn is quite the character, being forward and direct with people yet reserved in the manner that she approaches them, not asking for much but firm in execution and expectation. She is unsuspectingly a headstrong individual, the backbone which supports her beliefs are quiet solid, almost stubbornly so that it might as well just be better to drop the conversation. And while she isn't prone to violence, she has been seen to get quiet heated when her beliefs are walked upon and ignored.

Outside of that, she is a pleasant person to talk with, easily getting along with other people in polite company and small talk easily dispensed. Having the presence of someone who is a great listener, it comes from her calm manner in which she carries herself, even if the conditions may not be ideal. //

Ward - After reciting a prayer, create a translucent wall a short distance around you, capable of absorbing one attack before shattering. Repeating the barrier constantly will replace the ward instantly.

Heal - After reciting a prayer, place your hand near a wound and heal it. Good for dealing with minor or medium wounds.

Protection - After reciting a prayer, imbue a maximum of six people with greater physical attributes, accelerated natural healing, and increased toughness. Lasts 30 minutes per cast. Targets must be in eyesight.

// As a person who has went into battle dozens of times, underneath her armor, there are remnants of their happenings on her body. With not all of them as cleanly executed as she would of liked or even successful at all, there are scars that line her body as a common feature. Taking off her helmet, she has a noticeable scar lined on her face: a vertical one that scales up her from her cheekbone to her eye and eyebrow.

// The inside and outside of Justice isn't really different to each other, as even if they were to switch, nobody would notice. She is quite the blunt individual that prefers not to kick around the bush, she's always ready voice her opinion if something sounds or looks stupid. Handling things as efficiently as she can, her reputation of being a 'fanatic' isn't a stretch with her being quite thorough in her methods and unflinchingly ruthless in their execution.

With her lasting memories from the world before, she is still bitter from the experience, having a universal hatred for both monsters and humans. Her cold and stoic air around her coming from the fact that she is simply unable to devote herself to anything outside of 'removing evil', that she leaves others to 'foster goodness' in other people's heart. Lacking the care for certain formalities in society and even the ability to recognize the affection of other people around her. 'Fanatic' sounds like quite the adequate world to describe her, as it is simply who she is as a person.

With her lasting memories from the world before, she is still bitter from the experience, having a universal hatred for both monsters and humans. \\

Vestiges (Definitely Delete Me):

// "Run... Run ▅▅▅▅▅ !!!" (This dream again...) Is what they said, with their last words drowned out in their cries and she fell onto the ground. She was too scared... Too afraid... Simply too tired... (and too weak...) For a single muscle of hers to move during that scene was as if walking off a cliff, as her brother fought off the beasts.

She was 10 years younger. Three Brothers. Her breath already ragged from the last time they all set off in a desperate sprint for their life. They were cornered, no escape. Swords that they have scavenged and picked up was all they had to defend themselves against the beasts, but in the hand of farmers, they were just swinging sharp sticks to keep them away. Hiding at first, watching everything burn to the ground until they found them and they too had to run like everyone else did.

The youngest, her little brother had already disappeared that morning. The adults were talking about 'something' that was getting closer and were afraid as they didn't know what to do. (He died in the forest that morning...) Her mother was already crying when they began to set up the barricades, her father had already been helping gather the material to build a 'wall' if you could even call it that.

Mother left with a smile as she promised to be safe when she left, saying she had to 'grab some food from the neighbors' with a cloak and basket in hand. She never came back... (She left us without saying another word... It was in her eyes and that cruel smile, she knew what she was going to do to all of us) Then the fighting started.

The oldest, her older brother died in the initial battle against the goblins, wolves, and other creatures that were rallied to take their town along with Dad. As the most able and capable of village were the first line of defense which was set up against the monsters. At best they were a distraction for them to devour first and at worst, the appetizer which primed the main course.

The middle child, and the one standing in front of her had taken one of them down before three of them sunk their teeth into the opportunity he gave them. He had a lucky shot that took down the first one, a wolf that was downed from a lucky strike to the head that fatally damaged it. The other three , being goblins, sunk two of their daggers through the cloth clothing while the other latched their jaw around his free arm.

The second swing it missed and the second stab from the dagger went into his body while his arm was forcibly jerked around. (I crawled into my little corner)

A third swing, it missed again. He cried out in pain. (I closed my eyes)

A fourth desperate swing in panic, it missed. He howled once again. (I covered my ears)

Then a fifth swing...

Then a sixth swing...

Finally a seventh...

Then he was just screaming... It was all screaming... (And I cried)

And I cried... (But never again...) //

Yeah where I am right now is much better than a few years ago (outside of being older too- sheesh). So I'm confident that I will be able to do something long term.

As for my character that I'm working on, she'll be one of the amnesiacs that decided to go off on her own.

Alright here is my character after hashing some things out, hopefully, you guys like it. He's a bit rushed but he should be interesting at the very least.

A young man of average height as he stands at 5'10 and possesses a muscular stature underneath the layers that he wears commonly wears should he ever be seen without them for some reason. His style of clothing varies from time to time with what he wears from his wardrobe as there is a variety of styles for whatever the occasion that he may be planning for. They can sometimes be intricate with several layers of clothing that build up to a nice outfit and other times be simple creations with a shirt and flannel tossed together with jeans for casual outings. On his head, he has dirty blonde hair that looks like different shades of brown when rustled in the light of the sun and a pair of hazel eyes that compliment the color his hair. With a light layer of hair that his beard on his angular face, he looks like a person who carries himself well with both his appearance and presence that he has about him.

Where to in Life? The path in life for a normal person that lives in the modern day all leads to college, whether they receive a degree or certificate of their education, it is thought to be a very necessary process by many. Even this mindset has not escaped Joseph who has done his time going through school and gaining what he needs to survive in the world. Balancing aspects of his life so that none of them overwhelm parts of his life which is usually a slippery road to go down.

The Scholar. Hopefully, those years in college weren't for nothing as Joseph has spent several years in repaying the loans that funded the degree he spent several years for. With a major in both Chemistry and English that he received at the same time, he is quite capable of the academic grind that was needed for both. While his knowledge of science may be more concrete material, he is more interested in mythology which lead him to follow the dream of taking on that English major. In the end, though, he settled for pursuing his vocation in science and got his Masters in the subject of Chemistry. Grabbing a job as both a science and English teacher at the current place that he is working at right now.

The Artist. Art can be much more than the things that people stick to paper or any other medium to decorate. It can be the music that people listen to or the dance that people combine with the notes and rhythm that comes with such sound. In the end, what inspires all of these different forms of art is the creativity to do such a thing in the first place. Joseph always had a fancy for doing such things, being a 'sketcher' as he liked to call himself when doodling on paper, or 'two-faced' when easily slipping into roles for theater. There was simply never the opportunity to fully unearth his talents but they are still there, which he likes to exercise every once in a while.

The Traveler. While raised in a household that had family from all over the States, he never truly appreciated the experience that came with those opportunities. It wasn't until he was a teenager in High School that his teacher sparked the interest in him, a role model you could say, that inspired him to travel. With both learning about the differences that each place had to the home, he was familiar with. He grew to appreciate those chances that he got to take and eventually during college got to study abroad in Spain where he fell in love with. After graduating and securing his job, over the summers that he had free, he took the chance to explore more countries where he picked things up here and there. Gaining a number of langauges under his belt with varying fluency, with Spanish being indistinguishable from a native that gets its fair share of doubletakes when he speaks.

The Apprentice. Magic is a concept that has only been taught to Joseph yet never performed by himself due to the current situation that the world was in before the return of magic. There has never been any display of magic due to its rarity and the artifacts that could perform miracles such as those in the barren world was guarded safely. While he may have the knowledge of how to cast such spells, actual application may vary with results and false information gathered over the centuries without magic. However, with the awakening of magic in the world and the situation he has been placed in, he will learn quickly or die trying to without much say in the matter. At the same time, he is not totally unprepared for what is happening as he has a decent about of knowledge of what is going on, but older members maybe more versed on what is happening.

Backstory:
There exists a whole entire world outside of the dark age that humans are currently living in right now, filled with mysteries to be rediscovered and some that would be better left alone. In a dying tradition of studying magic even though one cannot do it is a very tedious process that has to be passed down to preserve the art. The art being passed down from one generation down to another, Joseph is the one next in line that inherited this burden for the family.

Being raised both in the mundane world where everyone is aware of and yet at the same time with the knowledge that something more exists that people do not even know of. He was born to a family descended from the original Scholars, a group of individuals of practiced magic in the age where it prospered, however, with every passing generation has slowly eroded their knowledge. Books and other text have been lost or ruined, as even lessons have been distorted over time due to misconceptions from lack of real application. With the use of magic being a rare phenomenon that mostly limited to artifacts that still held their power after conserving what it had left in itself. Each generation of students who studied magic were inferior and more inferior than their parents, as it simply was meant to be from disuse over the ages. A dying practice that would resurge when the Gods awoke from their deep slumber.

From his hometown of Washington, he was raised by a relatively normal family outside of the unique practices they had. Often having many family friends whom Joseph got to know very well over the years, with them at the same time getting to see the tiny boy grow up. In exchange for the eldritch mysteries, they were traded for familial bonds and fulfilling experiences that came with the connections that with the mundane. While the older generation that lived with their bodies as perversions of nature even got used to a state of complacency, becoming successful scientists, doctors, and other positions of prestige and academic rigor. There was the expectation on him to follow a path of similar status or at least not fall through the cracks that would be disgraceful of the desires entrusted to him.

Through the years of being raised by his family, he was placed through a rigorous academic workload that would have overwhelmed any normal student. It would not be a stretch to say that he developed a few quirks during those years in school along with the activities that his family also placed on him as well. While financially well off, his family were frugal in their spending and had Joseph work to get most of the things that he wanted by himself. It would all serve a purpose when he would enter college, balancing his studies with work and other things he had going through his life at the time. Fast forwarding a few years after he got his degree and grabbing a comfortable job teaching teenagers like he once was before, it was a nice setup. With more life experience in his belt of both the world and going through the process of getting his teaching credentials in another continent. So far, Joseph's life has had its ups and downs but that only means that it has been eventfully, to say the least with what he has done.

Motive:
His current goal right now is to survive the people and things that are hunting him down, and eventually find out the origin of how magic came back into the world. As a person, once he is safe, there is the question of where the return of magic originated from and what potentially caused it. With a unique event happening in his lifetime, it is something that he cannot simply ignore.

Things of Interest:
-Fluent in several languages, Native English and Very fluent Spanish speaker
-Is currently in the possession of two Artifacts

- The Staff of Cyl'Nyarlith, a powerful artifact for using magic in this new world that has experienced a boom in popularity. It currently is in disuse and wrapped up that prevents it from activating its inherent abilities to for magic.
- Vetra's Threads, a silk wrap that is said to prevent people from seeing the fate of something even with magic when wrapped around it.
The artifact is currently wrapped around the Staff of Cyl'Nyarlith to prevent malicious eyes from attempting to find out where it is as Joseph transports it.
