Advanced RP

When I write posts, I naturally find the desire to react to absolutely everything the others write, detail my character's emotions and thoughts about what is happening in addition to any uncontrollable little movements in his or her body in reaction to the things around before finally going into depth about what my own character does afterwards, with any whims and/or dramatic sense of mine perhaps dragging things out towards the end. This automatically somehow makes it so that I end up writing at a level that makes it so I'd really be acceptable in both Casual and Advanced. I've found that, oddly enough, there isn't much difference between my posts in the two sections. Still, my posts get naturally longer when I have to react to more stuff, so by the laws of cause and consequence my posts in Advanced can get longer. I don't feel that I am properly in character if I don't write at least two to three paragraphs. I honestly don't understand how one-liners work. I also could never possibly post every day, my life simply wouldn't accept it. Haha.

Fire Emblem: Something of Something

... Working title. I came up with it seconds ago because I wanted to post this. You know, ignore the above. "Solemn" is such a dreary word. I need a new name. Dunno what. This takes place after the events of Fire Emblem: Sacred Stones. If you do not wish to know how the game ends, or at least what impact the events of the game might have on a potential future after it, I recommend leaving this thread immediately. Actually, I've decided I think I'll scrap the "after Sacred Stones" part of the story. I'll just make it based in an alternative Magvel instead. I've had this idea for a Fire Emblem roleplay for a while. Either Casual or Advanced, I have not decided yet. I may have trouble keeping up with Casual speed, at least of you intend me to post once a day. I'm the GM, my posts will not be short. The idea, in any case, is that you each take control of a character, and then I provide you a field to play on. Like this.

I can move and have fun with the beings on the map on my side with relative ease, I have the layered maps. You then come up with the tactics and tell me how you move your characters, and I can of course inform of any special events or conversations which takes place around you. Meanwhile the world will of course be filled with typical Fire Emblem recruitment scenarios and plot as you continue through the game. There won't as many Fire Emblem stats, fighting will be determined by us roleplaying, but the character sheets will come with some high-lights. Here's the work in progress, by the way. If you're allergic to large amounts of text, you don't need to open any of the further hiders within the hiders. You can just ignore all further hiders and focus on me. I just thought it would be a waste not to include it.

Character Sheet Name: What your name is, OR what you want people to call you. If you want people to call you “Raven” because saying that your name is Raymond would attract unwanted attention, then feel free to write “Raven” here. And remember, in Fire Emblem there are no last names. Appearance: How you look like according to someone seeing you for the first time. Fire Emblem is anime-inspired, so I do not mind at all if you use an image. Do inform us of height and such things, though. Apparent Age: … Yeah, in case of Manaketes, they don’t need to write their age. Just remember that humans aren’t very good at appearing any other age than their real age. Gender: Male or female. … If you’re hiding your gender by whatever reason, you can write the gender you’re trying to be here. Unless it is obvious, in which case I’ll deny it. Nation: The nation which you consider home. If you’re originally from one nation but grew up in another and consider that other home, write that as well. If you’d like to keep it secret, feel free. Class: The class which you trained to become a part of. Use the class-chart to determine where you want to be. Any complaints or suggestions should be routed directly to me. Weapon Mastery: Using the skill chart, inform us how good you are with the weapons your class allow you to wield. Don’t even try wielding something that isn’t on it, you’ll hurt yourself. Starting Level: … Only and foremost to give us a sense of how strong you really are. Weapon Mastery does this to a degree, but this is another one. So, 1-20? 1-10 in case of Trainee… And any pre-promoted has to pick 1. Fire Emblem tradition. Will matter less and less as we go on. Slim weapons are the lightest of the light, guaranteed to be easy to wield. Widely used among Pegasus Knights for their lightness, anyone else is expected to use at least iron in actual combat. Iron weapons are easy to use, hold for a long time but hold little striking power. They’re light and easy to obtain, and a great boon to those who don’t intend to kill. The standard in any army. Steel weapons are heavier, sharper and much more reliable to kill. However, they slow the user down if the user isn’t macho enough and will need skill to get used to. Beginners will fumble. Silver weapons are impossible wonders, in the hands of a master they can cut through anything while being strangely light. In the hand of someone unworthy, though, they break almost instantly. Killer weapons feel like they have minds of their own. They are impossibly sharp and can create lethal wounds easily. Those not skilled enough with the weapon risks wounding themselves. Brave weapons seem to propel themselves as they attacked with, an incredibly natural flight that in the hands of the right person moves twice as fast as a normal. Takes a lot of skill to handle. If you think you deserve a personal weapon, please inform me of why. Seeing how both those with personal weapons in Sacred Stones are Lords, I will assume it had something to do with amount of money in their cases.

Picking Class

Now a couple of rules. By Fire Emblem tradition, I will only allow a single pre-promoted class to begin with, and that one will most likely be frowned on and kept in the back to not steal the other’s EXP. [/joke]. You may start as either a Trainee or a regular class, depending on what you feel like. As for lords, I will only allow one or two. If two, then you got to be either siblings or come with a dang good explanation for why a prince/ss of a nation other than Renais is currently travelling with the defenders of the Sacred Stone. Remember, politics wouldn’t like that, and you know what bad guys do to nations that cooperate with their enemies. I have left all leaders of nations child-less for this very reason, and only the newly crowned leader of Rausten, Edan, is too young to have a child yet. I can also allow one Manakete, but I put a bit of a limit on those, consider that before deciding. The Manakete will not be with the group at the start, and will need to get some special information from me before appearing in the actual game. Because… Manakete. They're essentially cheating. Pupil Shaman Mage Druid Summoner Sage Mage Knight Pupil – A magic-user in training. They can use anima magic or dark magic to a low degree. After a time they naturally promotes themselves to Shaman or Mage depending on what magic they take preference for. Mage – A user of anima-magic. Typically dressed in colorful hoods, they fancy many kinds of elemental magic that can have far more varied uses than just in combat. Depending on their choices they can either perfect their skills as a Sage or they can take the more aggressive direction as a Mage Knight. Shaman – A word used to describe a user of dark magic. Usually dressed in dark robes, they can terrorize their enemies with their powerful spells. From there, a shaman can choose to perfect his dark arts by becoming a Druid or dabble in the arts of spirits by becoming a Summoner. Sage – A magnificent master at the arts of anima magic and are also capable of dabbling in light magic. That along with the ability to use staves makes them one of the most versatile and skilled magic-types around. Mage Knight – A riding anima mage, who also holds the capability to use staves or swords should the need be. By being able to utilize a horse, magic and a physical weapon with skill they become an aggressive force to be reckoned with. Though, the other physical classes likely overcome their swords. Druid – A powerful dark magic-user which phenomenal powers can out-magic most enemies in his or her way. Well versed in the use of dark magic and possibly even staves, it is recommended for any foe to take these powerhouses down before being stuck by their powerful spells. Summoner – By dabbling in the mysterious arts of spirits, a Shaman becomes a Summoner with the ability to summon phantoms or monsters to do his bidding. While their dark magic or stave-ability pales in comparison to the Druids, summoners are able to summon their own minions to fight for them. Journeyman Pirate Fighter Berserker Warrior Warrior Hero Journeyman – A strong-willed newcomer to the arts of war who wields an axe to battle. Inexperienced, they usually need to find their place on the battlefield soon enough. Depending on how they are trained, a journeyman naturally becomes a Pirate or a Fighter. Fighter – An experienced axe-fighter on the field of battle, they fight mainly with mobility and the powerful swings of their axes. Skilled at what they do, one does not do well in underestimating them. From there, a Fighter can train himself to become a powerful Warrior or a skilled Hero. Pirate – A journeyman who took to the journeying part of his trip and who’s fighting style became more savage because of it. Not called “pirate” because they are pirates, but because pirates are usually of this class due to lack of training. Skilled at traversing terrain and sea and fighting with savage abilities, they are quite capable. May give in to brute strength completely and become a Berserker or refine his/her ability and become a Warrior. Hero – A heroic and skilled battler on the battlefield, they are viewed as role-models of the fight. Capable with swords and axes alike, their skill and power combined leaves foes gasping at their ability. Often the leaders of mercenary bands. Warrior – A truly powerful, yet oddly skilled, warrior of the battlefield. The pure power outputted by these tremendous people, yet with such undisputable skill, there is nothing one can do but view them with awe. While not quite as skilled or refined as a Hero, the Warrior makes that up with true power combined with their skill and speed. Can wield bows as well as axes. Berserker – A term for those who gave up on trained skill long ago and fight purely with instincts, muscle-memory and self-taught abilities, these axe-wielding terrors can cross mountain or ocean alike with ease and still arrive fresh enough to mutilate an opponent with their unmatchable strength. Recruit Knight Cavalier General Great Knight Great Knight Paladin Recruit – An inexperienced lance-wielder relatively new to the field of combat. They do their very best, and one should make sure to keep them alive for the sake of seeing their futures. Many recruits face the decision to either don the heavy armor and become a Knight or step up on a horse and become a cavalier. Cavalier – A fast and versatile riding soldier with the capability to wield both lances and swords to battle. While rather lightly armored, their quick movements on their horses and fast attacks make them great assets on the battlefield. Later during their carrier they can chose to wear that heavy armor anyway to become a Great Knight or swear to their loyal oaths to become Paladins. Knight – Heavily armored lance-wielding plate-walls that are impeccably hard to kill without the right equipment. While vulnerable to magic, the armor of these beasts deflect most mediocre physical blows aimed their way. They can step up on a horse to become Great Knights, or toughen their armor up further to become Generals. Paladin – The ultimate riding warrior, these skilled riders wield both lances and swords with impeccable skill and speed as well as hold up the ideals of their nation under the words of hope. These are often the prides of their respective nations. Often bound to service of the government, they are viewed as great bringers of justice in many places of the world. Great Knight – A powerful armored riding knight that has full control of the entire spectrum of the weapon’s triangle. Swords, lances or axes. Their huge armor make them impeccably hard to wound and their versatile skill and great power makes underestimating them due to their relatively slow riding-speed a mistake you won’t have time to regret. General – The ultimate armored behemoths of the battlefield, Generals walk powerfully forward covered from head to toe in nothing but heavy heavy armor. Wielding all weapons of the weapon’s triangle, one better hope they have a magician handy to break the low magic-resistance of these beasts lest they have to go toe-to-toe with these monstrous warriors that can hardly be wounded. Squire Myrmidon Mercenary Assassin Swordmaster Hero Ranger Squire – A sword-wielding person who is new to the arts of wielding this weapon. Often assigned to older and more experienced sword-wielders for teaching, they will soon be able to choose if they want to become a more skilled and fast Myrmidon or a strong respectable Mercenary. Mercenary – A skilled and strong sword-user who can overpower most situations s/he is confronted with by sheer experience and prowess. Skilled, strong and generally all-round, they are a dependable addition to any solid team of fighters should a tactician desire it. After a while, they may become an even more dependable Hero or take a horse and become a fast Ranger. Myrmidon – Very skilled swordsmen that rely on their undeniable ability and skill to dodge and maim any attacker before leaving in time for lunch. Many are dexterous, capable and not to be looked down upon lest you might get a head shorter. They can perfect their swordsman’s arts and become Swordmasters or refine their abilities to kill into deadly Assassins. Ranger – A strong, fast and undeniably skilled rider that perfects his or her ability with both the sword and the bow. With deadly accuracy with a bow on a distance and great skill with a sword in close, they eliminate the archer’s fear of enemies coming too close without them being able to help it. Their speed and strength along with their versatility make them fearsome opponents. Hero – A heroic and skilled battler on the battlefield, they are viewed as role-models of the fight. Capable with swords and axes alike, their skill and power combined leaves foes gasping at their ability. Often the leaders of mercenary bands. Swordmaster – The most skilled warriors of the sword. These impossibly skilled masters of the blade can easily pull off seemingly impossible stunts and slay the most dangerous of opponents and dodge exactly as much as needed as if they could read all of the battle around them. They better, as they are usually not well-armored, but if you think that makes them easier to kill you are sorely misled. Their skill is unmatched world-wide, and any swordsman might aspire to match the grace with which they carry their blades. Assassin – Not as much into the actual battle, Assassins are masters of killing rather than fighting. Their dexterity makes them almost impossible to hit and they know every part of the human body which leads to death. While not as skilled in an actual fight as the rest, an Assassin holds abilities of stealth and picking-skills which allows him to access or steal into anywhere he wants to then commit his murder with unmatched skill before leaving without a trace. Lawless Thief Brigand Assassin Rogue Berserker Warrior [I'll make a sprite if necessary.] Lawless – Petty thieves and beggars on the wrong side of the law that have picked up small swords or axes to defend themselves with. Their style is quite haphazard and their thieving-skills cute at best, but in the future they might refine their thieving arts to become Thieves or decide to simply overpower their victims as Brigands instead. Brigand – Savage axe-users who travel far and wide often in search for victims to plunder. Often a danger far across the world, brigands are usually kept in check by local militia but that does not make an encounter with them out in the open more pleasant. Their ability to scavenge and plunder is unmatched. If a Brigand lives long enough, he might become an even more dangerous Berserker or find the skill to become a great Warrior in his own right. Thief – Skilled pickers of locks and stealers of possessions, a thief is also a commendable wielder of swords in their own right. Fast and unpredictable, you can expect them to jump around a lot and stab (or steal) when you least expect them to. They might perfect the thieving and backstabbing arts by becoming Rogues or focus entirely on the killing aspect and become Assassins. Warrior – A truly powerful, yet oddly skilled, warrior of the battlefield. The pure power outputted by these tremendous people, yet with such undisputable skill, there is nothing one can do but view them with awe. While not quite as skilled or refined as a Hero, the Warrior makes that up with true power combined with their skill and speed. Can wield bows as well as axes. Should they decide to follow their beliefs, a male Faithful can become either a Priest or a Monk while a female Faithful can become either a Cleric or a Troubadour. Troubadour – Riding females that travel across the battlefield quickly towards where their ability with the staff is needed. Due to their mobility, they are highly favored by military to bring to a battlefield. Some Troubadours have skills with a sword, but staves are what they are for. After sufficient training, a Troubadour may become a Mage Knight or a Valkyrie. Cleric – A female member of the clergy that uses staves to heal the wounded to great effect. They are very revered for their priceless skill with staves to save lives. Often dressed in white robes to show their location to someone seeking to be healed. An experienced enough Cleric might find herself capable of promoting to either a Bishop or a Valkyrie. Bishop – Major clergymen that wields powerful evil-banishing light-magic as well as strong life-saving staves for good use. A symbol for goods combat against evil, Bishops are known for doing their best to support those around them with their powerful magical abilities and great wisdom. Of course, not all Bishops are like that, but the true magical force which backs their actions is undeniable. Mage Knight – A riding anima mage, who also holds the capability to use staves or swords should the need be. By being able to utilize a horse, magic and a physical weapon with skill they become an aggressive force to be reckoned with. Though, the other physical classes likely overcome their swords. Valkyrie – Riding sacred maidens of magical powers who wield light magic and anima magic as well as staves to their advantage. The fastest moving light magicians in existence along with staves and anima magic, they can swiftly bring their evil-banishing life-saving powers where needed. While not as magically powerful as a Bishop, they surely can reach places in time when a Bishop might have fallen behind due to lack of horse. Faithful (Male) Priest Monk Sage Bishop Sage Bishop [I'll make a sprite if necessary.] Faithful – A person of the church that is capable of healing with staves to a limited degree. They are valued highly by all nations and therefore spread widely through towns in their respective churches and in many different military divisions in order to always be available to heal when needed. A Priest that has done well can go on to become either a Sage or a Bishop. Bishop – Major clergymen that wields powerful evil-banishing light-magic as well as strong life-saving staves for good use. A symbol for goods combat against evil, Bishops are known for doing their best to support those around them with their powerful magical abilities and great wisdom. Of course, not all Bishops are like that, but the true magical force which backs their actions is undeniable. Sage – A magnificent master at the arts of anima magic and are also capable of dabbling in light magic. That along with the ability to use staves makes them one of the most versatile and skilled magic-types around. Villager Archer Soldier Sniper Ranger Halberdier Paladin I’ll just mention right here and now, I love Soldiers. … Hence Halberdier. [I'll make a sprite if necessary.] Villager – Term for those who usually do not fight and are fresh to the start. They usually wield normal hunting-spears as lances or bows usually for hunting, as those are the skills they usually gain from home. Should a villager gain in skill, he will sooner or later discard the use of the other weapon to become a full-time Archer or Soldier. Soldier – Basic lance-wielding soldiers. Moderately armored, skilled and strong, they are the world’s best balanced soldiers on the battlefield who can easily match most other classes when gathered in a balanced bunch. An experienced soldier may consider being promoted to a stronger Halberdier or stepping up on a horse as a noble Paladin. Archer – Capable men and women wielding bows. These people are well-known for their ability to use bows and crossbows on a distance and can take out skilled enemies before they even have the chance to prove their worth. They are also able to operate Ballistae. A skilled enough archer may be promoted to a Sniper, while others might wish for more mobility as a mounted Ranger. Paladin – The ultimate riding warrior, these skilled riders wield both lances and swords with impeccable skill and speed as well as hold up the ideals of their nation under the words of hope. These are often the prides of their respective nations. Often bound to service of the government, they are viewed as great bringers of justice in many places of the world. Halberdier – Strong, skilled and well-armored foot-soldiers. Just as well-balanced as the Soldier, the Halberdier takes it up a notch with their only weakness being their sole use of lances. Balanced, fast, strong, armored and skilled they give other classes a run for their money when they fail to respect the great masters of all that are the Halberdiers. Those are dependable military men, and they show it. Ranger – A strong, fast and undeniably skilled rider that perfects his or her ability with both the sword and the bow. With deadly accuracy with a bow on a distance and great skill with a sword in close, they eliminate the archer’s fear of enemies coming too close without them being able to help it. Their speed and strength along with their versatility make them fearsome opponents. Sniper – The most skilled archers become Snipers, who’s aim is inescapable. Then can hit improbable targets over long distances, shooting their inexplicably well-aimed arrows with such force it makes viewers gasp in awe. For an enemy facing a Sniper, they better have very good armor or be good at dodging fast, because otherwise those arrows will quickly find every fatal spot on the human body. Pegasus Trainee Pegasus Knight Wyvern Rider Falcon Knight Dark Flier Wyvern Knight Wyvern Lord … Why on Earth can a Pegasus Knight promote to a Wyvern Knight? … I’ll make an exception here and bring in Dark Fliers from Awakening. And make them able to use dark magic if they want to, ‘cause shamans and their promotions are feeling lonely alone as users of it. [I'll make a sprite if necessary.] Pegasus Trainee – A willing rider of flying animals practicing with a lance on a small Pegasus. After receiving enough training the Trainee can continue on to a real combat-Pegasus as a Pegasus Knight or make a bond with a powerful Wyvern to become a Wyvern Rider. Wyvern Rider – Those who have make bonds with these flying animals become bound to them. As such, a rider of these powerful beasts can traverse the battlefield fast and powerfully with quick and forceful charges which can split lesser men in pieces. After having become a more proficient rider and getting a better bond with his beast the Wyvern Rider can become either a powerful Wyvern Knight or a feared Wyvern Lord. Pegasus Knight – Sticking to the Pegasus, the female white riders of these graceful beasts are skilled acrobatics of the air who can quickly and with great maneuverability dodge any attack their way while making it to their destination where they can run their opposition through. They are viewed with envy by those countries that cannot have their own troop. As a rider becomes more experienced she may multi-task by dabbling in magic as a Dark Flier or perfect her skills with the white winged horse and become a legendary Falcon Knight. Wyvern Lord – Perfectly synchronizing with his or her bond to the wyvern, the Wyvern Lord can perform almost unimaginable tricks in midair in a way a Wyvern Knight simply cannot. Their wyverns sensing for them, they become aware of everything around them and can react in turn. Wielding both swords and lances, they are well balanced, fast and powerful riders of the sky which upon sight from the ground any sane man would quiver in fear from the power of the individual soaring overhead. They move as a single individual, and they are strong together. Wyvern Knight – Personally mastering the art of riding a wyvern without needing to perfect the bond, the Wyvern Knight beats the Wyvern Lord in sheer power. With powerful dives of a strong monster driven to attack, the Wyvern Knights leads their deadly monster to incredible speeds and charges of such force they can blow straight through any armor. These beasts on the battlefield are rightfully feared, because one of these can easily tear you in half. (I TRIED!) Dark Flier – Choosing to dabble in the latent magical potential of a Pegasus Knight, a Dark Flier commands spells while on top of a Pegasus. The female warriors become exceptionally versatile as the speed of the Pegasus is combined with the power of either Anima or Dark spells depending on the user’s preference in addition to already wielding lances. While learning magic means the Dark Flier cannot match other final promotions of the flying classes physically, those who dismiss their potential are in for a harsh lesson. Falcon Knight – Flying through the sky with unparalleled speed, the sword or lance wielding female riders of these impressive and beautiful beings mask the unparalleled deadliness these riders bring. With unmatched skill throughout the sky, these masters of flight flow unmatched to their destinations, coordinating their attacks and their movements perfectly while in mid-flight for deadly maneuvers that other fighters in the air can only gawk upon. And all the time, they retain their beauty and their grace. Such perfectness. Other classes (Just example sprite, they all look different.) Lord/Great Lord – Exclusive though optional choice of class for those who are sons or daughters of royals as well as main characters. Different from the other classes in the game, a Lord can pick for themselves how they wish to look, how their strengths and weaknesses are to be distributed as well as what weapon they wish to use. They have their own promotion in Great Lord which is also picked by the individual themselves. The GM will, of course, survey the choices and pass judgment. Having more than one weapon to start with is a no. Also, your sprite… may be troublesome. Geesh. Manakete – A race of dragon-people with wings sticking out of their back. Called “Great Dragons”, they shy away from humans and live on their own, but possess considerable ability to sense demonic energy. Using Dragonstones, they can transform themselves into enormous dragons which are strong, mighty and almost invincible… for a set amount of times. Unlike human weapons, they cannot buy Dragonstones in any nearby shops, so when their stones are worn out, that’s it. Due to the efforts of a certain sage, a few of them have dropped in and are currently living in Caer Pelyn with the humans there, reasonably at peace. Dancer/Bard/Other kind of entertainer – Using a special kind of technique (or magic) for entertaining the fellow troops, the entertainers of the world are able to bless the warriors of the world with additional speed, morale and overall ease their spirits. … It is hard to get this to work in a roleplay environment, if you have any other ideas of how to make this work and really want to do so, then please contact the nearest GM and sort things out, ‘cause otherwise I won’t waste my time. Civilian – Those who cannot wield any weapons at all. If you do not fight and do not match in any other class, this is where you end up. Depending on the circumstances, this class might be temporarily renamed (like, Queen, Merchant or Pontifex), but it really doesn’t matter at all because they’re all the same regardless. Weapon Mastery Chart

Hider

F – Civilian. Never been trained to use one. Doesn’t know how to properly handle the weapon. Potentially just picked one up. E – Beginner. Good enough to show off in front of friends. Has learned basic handling of weapon and how to stay alive while using it. D – Amateur. Has enough fighting-skill to be a respectable soldier. Average members of military is not expected to achieve higher than this. Usually comes with pure experience. C – Skilled. Capable of advanced battle-strategy and outmatching most average soldiers. Knows all the ins and outs of their weapon of choice by heart. Will know when they are outmatched. B – Pro. Can cripple whole regiments by themselves and could contend for prizes in skills. Good enough to attract attention among higher-ups or create rumors. Amateurs could never keep up. A – Master. Best individuals to walk the land. Strong enough to create legends of their accomplishments. Can swing past even very skilled warriors without effort. Seemingly impossible feats can be performed. S – Legend. Only a few have ever reached this level of skill. These are people who have been recognized by gods and changed history with their influence. Can dominate battlefields by themselves. Hider

As you might have noticed, I have scaled up the weapon mastery chart considerably. Starting with anything higher than C without explanation and good reason will award you the GM raised eye-brow of “oh, really”. Explanation and good reason is not the same thing. It is rather simple. The larger difference between the ranks of the fighters facing one another, the larger the difference in abilities. The one with the higher number has a greater chance of hitting the opponent, while the other has a smaller chance. If the two combatants are only a single letter from each other, they may fight as normal but remember that the one with the higher should have advantage even if this doesn’t mean s/he’ll automatically win. If there is a two letters difference then it is possible for the lower person to survive with luck, but will not last if the higher one is serious and it is a one-on-one battle. If the difference is three letters or more, the lower side CANNOT hit (unless allowed to hit) while the one with higher skill may FORCE HITS on the less skilled person. The skill of the opponent is so inferior that the more skilled one can do whatever s/he feels like with them. However, I will allow a point of common sense. Should several people fight the same person, the difference in skill won’t matter as much. As long as there is a single individual with skill high enough not to be auto-hit ready to defend the comrade the higher skilled one cannot force hits. Also, there is difference even if two people of the same rank battle. It will be a closer battle, of course, but one can always be more intelligent than the other.

I have also written a story in case you want to read. I scrapped the current story, because... yeah. It was an "After the events of the Sacred Stones". I don't really want to be spoilerific for those who haven't played it.

I think I'd prefer the group to remain rather small. Too many and this format will become difficult to handle. But of course, your allies will be following your orders, and fun Fire Emblem things can happen as long as we agree on the things. I won't be against players creating additional characters that we'll meet as we go along, either, but I believe I will hold main responsibility for playing those. Players playing more than their one character feels odd to me. In any case, yeah. I believe this format is the one which could potentially be the one which gets closest to actually recreating the feeling of being in the world of Fire Emblem within a roleplay. How Did You Get Into Roleplaying?

In High School there was a Pokémon event. At the event, there was a guy who prepared a Pokémon roleplay. I participated, and the GM noted how exceptionally enthusiastic I was. Due to this, he invited me into his roleplaying group. We've been best of friends ever since, and I have roleplayed ever since. I came here by googling Roleplaying because my appetite for roleplay had been awakened and could not be sated. I trust any member of this site can find themselves understanding of this thirst which draws us together. Haha.

I'm sure it would have been, but I kind of have a hard time seeing that happen, seeing how one is a female creature of flame and deceit hiding on planet Earth with no family and the other is a underwater dweller with a huge family and he's training to become a Star Wars Jedi for said family...

Magitech Girls! A mecha musume/magical girl monster-fighting RP relaunch!

The RPGN 12.19.14 (Special Announcement) had a question in it.

RPGN said How would your character react and do if they were to wake up one morning as the opposite sex with no given explanation? How would a situation like that play out?

For fun, I wrote about all my characters ever there. Here is what I wrote for Kazeko. The first is a short introduction that may vary in correctness so the reader could understand who she is without going here.

Shizukana Kazeko is a young girl who lost her legs and proceeded to become the lazy. Then the wheel-chair bound girl was recruited as a Magitech girl by SEED and got mechanized legs as well as weapons to combat threats of humanity with. Pretty much became a magical girl.
- … Well, to start with, Kazeko would no longer be able to be a Magitech girl having become a boy. Since she was no longer any use, the male Kazeko would assume that their enemies had invented a new weapon which transformed Magitech girls to boys, effectively neutralizing them, and he would turn his time and effort into becoming a researcher to invent a countermeasure against this horrible weapon… I’m just kidding, she’s too lazy for that. He’d most likely be sent home to the orphanage she worked at again, where he’d show up being like “Hi, I’m a boy now, treat me like usually”. And then the orphanage would press charges against SEED because “You turned Kazeko into a boy against her will!” and SEED’s like “We, uh, did not.” and then they lost the lawsuit and became financially bankrupt with low public opinion because immoral experimenting on children, making girls into child-soldiers and so, the girls were sent back to their families and the people at SEED were jailed for crimes against humanity and then the world was taken over by evil since SEED couldn’t stop them anymore due to that… um… … … Maybe not. … He’d probably just stick around, somewhat confused, at SEED while the other girls fought and he just welcomed them back and wondered why he was a boy. … Oh, and he’d inevitably fall in love with one of the girls, but that’s another matter altogether. Haha.

Fate Stay Night inspired roleplay characters

Servants, first...

Daniel Boone, American pioneer, explorer, hunter and frontiersman whose frontier exploits made him one of the first folk heroes of the United States. He was summoned as a Heroic Spirit to take part of a Holy Grail War for magi fighting one another using heroes of the past.
- He’s so calm a guy, the new Daniella Boone would tilt her head with curiosity and ask her Master (summoner) if this was an effect she knew of. After that, he’d naturally assume this was an effect from either the Grail which summoned her or an enemy spell, and continue life EXACTLY as he did before, but would probably be a tad… more amused by the Holy Grail War than she was before.

King Heidrek Höfundsson the Wise, self-proclaimed king of Berserkers and a vicious Norse King wielding the cursed blade Tyrfing. A proud and vile man who hates being commanded and was summoned to fight as a Heroic Spirit in a Holy Grail War… another Holy Grail War.
- … He’d be stunned, and entirely depending on his mood she’d either be encompassed with magnificent rage about “WHO WOULD DARE TO CAST SUCH A SPELL ON THE MIGHTY KING HEIDREK HÖFUNDSSON!!??” and continue to immediately depart to slay Caster (and half the city with all likelihood), or she would laugh heartily and tease his Master, just because. After that it wouldn’t have much effect, perhaps even further bolstering his pride that he can be superior even as a woman. … But he’d blame any and all future mishaps on her new gender, which would build annoyance at this…

Lugh, High King of Ireland, another Heroic Spirit and certainly a mighty individual revered to as a god in some sources (not this one, though). … Though, this version of him is a trap. A tiny child-like feminine being with purple hair and a cute bow on his head. Looks like a girl.
- “… Huh? … Um, eh… Oh, never mind~! Haha~!” … And that encompassed the entire reaction. His appearance would not change at all (unless he’d become reversed and become a manly woman instead…) and his personality would not change, so she’d just go off and fight/have fun like she always did. Maybe a bit more hesitant to take off her clothes in a man’s presence, which she would have done as male without thinking about it when intending to take a bath. Some proper purity, that is.

Honda Tadakatsu, Japanese general and Daimyo, one of the Tokugawa Four Heavenly Kings, returned to the present as a Heroic Spirit… A fearless warrior, known for never having suffered a single wound.
- … He’d feel he lost to someone. Someone has evidently come up to him in his sleep and cast a spell on him, where they could have killed him. Since he allowed it to happen, she would bear her femininity as a mark of shame for her loss. Not because femininity is weak in any way, but because that was what the enemy chose to do to him. In the wake of that, Tadakatsu would continue living as well as she could, continue fighting as she always have and answer that she had “lost” to anyone who asks why he’s now a she, in a really bitter voice.

Beowulf, Norse hero of legend and more, summoned as a Heroic Spirit. … Who was actually a woman who overpowered all historians to make future generations think she was actually a man.
- He’d be torn. On one hand, he was really proud to have achieved all that he had achieved as a woman, and on the other hand he’d be happy that some being saw fit to bless her with the gift of masculinity. Because as a woman he had seen being male as much better, so. … Regardless, he’d have accepted the gift with a bit of bitterness and continued his life, a little sad that nobody would believe him if he said “I was a woman when I did all that”, but he’d eventually get over there and live as fully as a Norseman should.

I have way too many Fate characters. Oh, well. Masters after this.

Erchmann von Einzbern, a whiney little bitch of a boy who happened to become the representative of the powerful Einzbern family in a battle he was to have no part of… meaning he’s a Master that summons a Heroic Spirit from the past…
- He’d be shocked. And scared out of his wits of how others would view him, er, her now. She’d avoid seeing her elders at all costs, and be prepared to be disowned if she had to see them. Probably try to find out a way to turn herself back to male as quickly as possible, disappearing as long as he could until then. Probably ask Baba Yaga, since, well, she was the Heroic Spirit he summoned, I believe. … It would be troublesome to confront the girl he liked. Hahaha. … He is a product of a long line of accidents, so Erch-womann would probably blame her ever present misfortune for this, too. Haha.

Juliasviel von Einzbern was a failed homunculus with a few powers and inevitably short lifespan, and way more emotions than she should. She killed her way to her family’s position in the Holy Grail War, and the rest of the Einzbern doesn’t approve of this murderous failure. But she intends to show them.
- … The male Juliasviel would seethe from rage at being genderbent. However, his intention would still be to win the War to show that he was the right choice. The desire to win would overpower any shock or other action he could have taken from this occurrence. Being male didn’t really affect him any, so he’d just keep trying to achieve something in his short lifespan, but rage at this would certainly build within him...

Ruth is a magical construct made from combining the magical crests (where they put all their spells) into one person, destroying her mind and life-expectancy but temporarily making her one of the most powerful magi of all time. Summoner of a Heroic Spirit.
- … She wouldn’t react at all. In fact, due to being what she is, a programmed construct made to win the War, he’d just make a few adjustments (go to the male public bathroom) and make a report of the anomaly. Yeah, those with destroyed minds don’t react much on such things… Haha…

Serina Asai is a young hopeful girl who wanted to enter the Grail War to prove herself and escape her father’s attempts to keep her from becoming a magus. She thinks before acting, and can be pretty determined. May be a bit overconfident.
- … She’d think some magic she attempted had gone wrong and run off crying to her father, apologizing for doing things she shouldn’t have and ask if he could undo her gender transformation. After failure to turn him back, Asai would hole up at home a while, discouraged to continue the magical business. … Though eventually his hot-headedness would bring him right back where he started, hoping to transform back to female. He’d probably skip going to school.

Serina Medai is Asai’s father, except not really. I actually don’t remember the full story, but he’s a magus criminal looking after an orphan daughter trying to keep her from learning the magic of her parents because magi don’t lead happy lives.
- Upon becoming a woman, Medai would immediately relocate both herself and her daughter. It means someone with magic had found them but not done anything further, not that Medai knew any magic that could do that. She couldn’t be found, being a criminal, for Asai’s sake. So, after arriving at the opposite side of the planet she’d use her now woman shape to warn Asai about using magic and then continue their lives as normal, continuing to prevent Asai from using magic. That’s about that.

Viola Mitchell, member of the Magi Association and punisher of bad Magi. A woman of authority and member of an esteemed magical family. A target entered the Holy Grail War, she decided to join to hunt him down. Because summoning Heroic Spirits and taking part in all-powerful rituals is all normal in hunting magi scum.
- Upon becoming a man… … … I think Viola would consider leaving the magical business altogether and move out to become a normal man. He’d no longer be recognizable, and frankly, he’s an exceptional magus in the business of hunting other magi, he’d know all about how to pursue magi and hence how to avoid it. She wasn’t entirely happy with her life as a magus, after all, so. Not sure if he’d get a better life after, but eh. … And if his knowledge of magic (more extensive than mine) told him he’d never get away, he’d continue doing what he did and report the change of gender to the association and her family, living on with the complications for a while after before eventually adapting. Haha.

Other Anime-inspired

Haruo Kanegi is a boy who died from stumbling in front of a car in exhaustion due to needing to meet the excessive standards of studying from his parents and ended up in an afterlife simulating a school in order to get over the unfairness of his death (Angel Beats) and goes around being all happy and not caring about studying at all because he can.
- He’d… laugh. Because he’s already dead, she’d feel the need to go off and do improper experiments. She’d also have fun teasing absolutely everyone (especially males) because she felt like it. She’d get as close to fellow girls as he could and try to engage in as girly activities and conversations as possible. … And when the initial excitement waned away she’d start wondering if she’d ever turn back, then get somewhat troubled because she kind of liked being male. Then she’d get over it and become a rather normal young girl seemingly entirely forgetting her past as male, with the same jokish personality. He’d like being a girl in the long-term.

Saburo Ootsuka, codename Arm, is a man made to enter the Anime universe Darker Than Black. … I actually don’t remember all that much about the show, but as a person with an Ability the middle-age smoker didn’t have much of the way of emotions… He did missions as he was given and hung out in the alleys, mostly.
- … He wouldn’t react at all. He was always a loner, hanging out in the edges of society. If anything, she might be inconvenienced by the extra attention she might be attracting by merely standing in the streets in a way she never did while male. Still, hardly a problem. She can still crack anyone who bothers her in half with a single touch, after all. Perhaps ask “Why me?” and then go on with her life.

Sora is a Busou Shinki, a tiny female model of a flying fighter with armor, engines and weapon. She is of the Fighter Type Asuka type and is newly named by her new owner after having been shipped from a factory directly to her new owner.
- … Seeing how there are no male Shinki, Sora would be beyond just confused. I am pretty sure they don’t have the organs which decide gender, as such I will simply assume her body-shape changed to that of a male. So, the new male Sora would naturally assume that his owner changed her while she was asleep, and now he’s a he. “I-if that’s how my Mistress desires me…” Sora would accept, somewhat unhappily, but with a finality to it. … Then there’s the fact his Mistress would suddenly find her being a him, and that would trigger a reaction from a completely different person that I have no right to decide. But Sora would DEFINITELY be confused learning his Mistress had not done this and probably try with all his might to return himself to his female form, the way his Mistress initially bought him. … Unless Mistress says something else, of course (being the only one around with a male Shinki might be a status of some kind, who knows? Haha…)

Komeda Koudo is a boy who has managed to turn his life around. He was pathetic, but by entrusting to dedication he managed to change his life and become brilliant academically and in sports and with friends, all was perfect. Now he just had to go to a High School on an island in the sky only some people could see and his life would be set. What could possibly go wrong? … This was an Aphorism RP, for whoever knows what that means.
- Given that he’s on an island where weirder things has happened, the recently turned female Koudo will assume the island saw fit to turn him female now. She’ll awkwardly approach the females in class and ask if they had any spare clothes for her and do her best to continue surviving. Considering they’re on a deadly island in the sky that is constantly trying to kill them, turning female would be one of the least worrying things that could happen, really. She’d do her best to continue, taking tips from the girls on how to survive as female. Could have been amusing, really.

Sfogliatine Zucchero Graelian (Solia) is the young Princess of the kingdom of Graelian, meaning she’s the ruling monarch, of course. She’s dog-eared and dog-tailed, because… well, because it was a Dog Days RP. She’s innocent, kind, but also somewhat of a thrill-seeker who doesn’t always think through her actions.
- Being the Princess means the entire nation and some more would find out if Solia suddenly turned male. She’s their beloved princess, after all. Embarrassed at this occurrence, the male Solia would lock himself into the castle and only indirectly rule the nation while asking for the advice of the more experienced people around him and turn to the magical division of the nation for what had happened to him as well as any way to turn himself back. Should this fail for too long, Solia would eventually come out and announce his condition to the people, prepared to take any measures possible to calm any bewilderment this might cause. He’d definitely feel extreme guilt for letting this happen to him when, as a Princess (Prince now) it is his duty to make sure nothing like this happens to him… But he’d endure, perhaps somewhat traumatized. Somewhat.

Minaka Tayumu is a fox-girl for a Princess Resurrection roleplay. A two-tailed kitsune, she bears the burden of the reputation of her supremely evil mother and therefore seeks out one of the royal siblings willing to take her in and support that one to victory so she or any other kitsune doesn’t have to fear in the future.
- Upon being turned male… Are there any male Kitsunes? Dunno. In any case, it wouldn’t really trouble her all that much. He’d be shocked, but… in the end, it wouldn’t change that much in her life. He’s still on the run, still seeking (or serving), and otherwise. If there are no male kitsunes (I don’t remember any) then he could use that to his advantage in order to boost his own value for the royals. Though, he’d lose any ability to charm men which he’d earlier have used to its full potential. And it would be troublesome if he ran into the boy who he fell in love with as a girl. In fact, he’d probably avoid that meeting taking place in the first place, since it happened while he had charmed him as a girl… Haha… … Something like that.

The following three are from Anime-inspired roleplays, not intended for any existing Anime.

Furimio Ayuna, a traveler from another world inhabiting the human body of a dead friend of hers who has the mental condition of a young teenage girl but the super-weapons and gravity super-powers of a foreign being on a mission from her otherworldly superiors…
- She, *cough*, he would be terrified. Not only because it means someone used magic on her to change her gender which means someone found her (he doesn’t want to be found), but also because… this isn’t his body which gender was changed. The original owner of the body is dead, so, the body is his, really, but it would still certainly disturb him. He couldn’t go to school anymore, that would show the existence of magic. He’d do his best to continue follow his superiors’ orders while actively pursuing whoever changed his gender, until he eventually would change his identity to become a new human (male) and act in the open again. … But the incident would certainly scar his mind, knowing someone had done that to him and could probably do it again, and would be a lot more insecure then and after…

Okumura Naiyo, from the same world as Ayuna. She’s a righteous individual who is obsessed with rules and making sure everybody follows them. Unbeknown to her for the better part of her life, she was created in the mirror image of one of the strongest warriors in Ayuna’s world, who’d eventually use this to inhabit Naiyo and the two could switch control over the body to protect the world from evil. This leads to an amusing question…
- Did the change occur before or after she learned of the existence of magic? Before would shock her out of his wits, going to the hospital and who knows where else to determine what was wrong. However, after calming down he would return to school, reintroduce himself to his class as male and follow all the rules as a male. … It would, however, drive a certain scientific division who made her in the other world go absolutely mad since he was no longer a mirror image of their warrior and could therefore not merge anymore… XD
- If it happened AFTER learning about the existence of magic, she’d naturally make the connection that it had something to do with magic and go seek a cure. Considering the magic of that world, I would not be surprised if he found it, his connections are many times better than Ayuna’s. But should one not be found he’d have a lot easier time accepting what had happened, but would probably be prevented from going to school, because… can’t show the existence of magic. Then he’d probably keep fighting evil behind the scenes and hope to find a cure somewhere. Haha.

Fire Emblem and Pokémon

Heardin Wetrin, crown prince of Ilia, my character in a Fire Emblem roleplay, positive-thinking joke-cracking well-trained history-nut, soldier and prince and probably overall my favorite character who was made for a short-lived roleplay. Oh, *siigh*. I really liked that roleplay, but… geesh…
- Finding out he’s a girl all of a sudden, Heardina would feel very nervous all of a sudden. She’d probably spend quite a lot of time in her room / tent wondering, considering, thinking things through. After having worked up her courage, she’d finally come out and be like “Hi~! I’m Heardin Wetrin, and I’m a princess now~!” and try to joke about it while getting herself new clothes. It would be an awkward conversation to have with his sister. Heardin would do her best to laugh it off as if she didn’t mind it to others, but would seek an answer to what happened if she did get time off from fighting Gale and his men, feeling rather self-conscious. Nothing like this had ever happened to any hero of legend she knew about…! Eventually she’d probably find herself accepting her current state, getting used to it leading the Ilian army without further trouble for the continuation of the war, though some people might be inconvenienced at her transformation.

Narian Ema is a small Ilian girl cleric who absolutely idolizes military figures (drooling over her dolls of them style). She was part of the same roleplay as Heardin, and led a small, failed, revolution against Gale when he took over Ilia. She then fled to where the Wetrin forces had gathered to strike back.
- Given that Narian is a CLERIC, female only class, becoming a male would be somewhat troublesome. Eh, he could probably reclass to Priest. Beyond that, he’d definitely ask the mages around him how on Elibe this was possible. Upon getting no true answer, he’d uncomfortably continue what he was doing in the army, healing and doing what he could. … It would probably not look as good if he was drooling over his dolls of the military commanders anymore… He’d adapt, badly, not doing much else than his job. It is what she always had been doing. Hopefully nobody would question it too much, for he had no answer to give…

Melbur Dornak is a bandit in the same world as the above two, an axe-wielding fighter who leads a large troop of scavengers in the mountains of Bern. He’s odd in that he seems to have a sense of nationality, defending Bern in times of crisis, yet ravages towns mercilessly and cruelly otherwise.
- Upon becoming female, Melbur would scratch her head. … Then shrug and go out to lead her men again. After knocking the heads of any complaining at the new woman leading them together, the female bandit would most likely consult some priests in the next village he ravages. After that, she’d shrug and state something along the lines of “Yaaar! Bein’ a woma’ ain’t gonna stop ma fro’ livin’!” and continue what she was doing previously. Also, she’d probably pretend she was a woman all along to amuse herself with those who come to meet her, and insist anyone who saw her as a man had been hallucinating, and get all her boys in on it. … Still, it does mean she won’t be able to enjoy a nice woman like she had previously. That’s a pain. Hm.

Spelle the Spheal, a round and stupid Pokémon that started her life with rolling down a mountainside and had to be adopted by a gang of Horseas and their evolutions, eventually ending up left in the Pokémon settlement where the adventure started.
- Spelle is still a child, and a child Pokémon at that. A stupid child Pokémon. Becoming male would create confusion, but would eventually just be accepted as the truth of the world without any further investigation as the round Pokémon rolled on to mature later in life. Probably become a fun story later, “Did you know I was born a girl?” … Or who knows, Spelle has probably forgotten all about once having been female after a year. XD

Voise Ahorge is a member of Team Genetic, the Pokémon team of that world. Self-confident and cruel, he seeks his own success as a hunter of enemies of the team for his own gain and to cause pain to others. Despite being such a bad guy, he’s oddly loving and happy with his Frostlass, Moe.
- Becoming female would… inconvenience Voise. Firstly, how the hell had it happened? Actually, Voise knows EXACTLY what had happened. He wasn’t a member of Team GENETIC for nothing. Some higher-up had mixed with his genetics and turned him female! … And that’s when Voise left Team Genetic and went on a hunt for Team Genetic commanders and nobody in Team Genetic felt safe ever since due to an unknown female huntress that was hunting them all down and asking how to turn her male again. After they not knowing (because they were doing it to Pokémon, not humans!), the female Voise would use Moe to freeze them and then go after the next Team Genetic commander, and the Pokémon trainers that would inevitably fight Team Genetic would get to hear how they’re already under fire from an unknown direction… … … Gosh, I’d almost like that to have happened, because that’s so very amusing. Hahaha.

Minda Clearmine is a young druid/ranger girl who worked as an assassin/thief for an evil druid, until she grew a conscience and fell in love with a boy. … He then proceeded to wipe her memory and implant a mission in her mind as she was made to wake up just as the main characters were passing by.
- She’s a very sneaky one who knows that there are all kinds of magic in the world… so he’d accept that some spell must have made her male really quickly. He’d adapt rather quickly to suddenly being male, but would most likely have to stop resorting to being cutely charming quite as often. It would be inconvenient, but he’d make it, and would ask Grith rather quickly what could have been at work and if there was any way to turn him back. If there wasn’t, nothing else to do but continue… Oh, and it would be awkward if he ran into the boy he had fallen in love with afterwards. “Oh, yeah, um, I’m male now, er… Do you mind?”

Mollie Gil Bray is a 16 year old succubus that thinks she’s a human. She lives in Fort Lucy, where everyone is actually secretly some unnatural being or other (but doesn’t know it) and everyone has wicked intentions. She switches between being a good clumsy glassed school-girl and a night-dwelling impulsive loon with a knife.
- Upon having her gender switched… … … In the first place, what happens when you genderbend a succubus? Do they become an incubus? Eh… … … Mollie would be absolutely convinced that there was some hostile force messing with her, and it would drive him mad as he departed to seek out what magician did this to her. She didn’t believe in magic previously, but after this he’d be convinced something is up and go crazy with his knife, threatening people for information and probably killing anyone who tried to stop him. He’d eventually be stopped, he isn’t strong enough to handle the town by himself, but he’d carve a number while doing so. Haha.

Lara is the youngest daughter of a recently dead king in an immortal family with plenty of siblings, who are all scrambling with plots and wicked intentions for the throne. She’s wicked and magically gifted, and hopes to be underestimated for her young age as she puts her own plot in motion.
- Upon becoming male… Lara would be annoyed, and then cast a spell to immediately turn himself back into female. She’d then launch an investigation of who dares turn her male. If by whatever reason he’s blocked from turning himself back, he’d be even more annoyed. He’d mask his new masculinity with magic, pretending nothing had happened with simmering hatred for his siblings (It gotta be one of them…!) while engaging in normal socializing and other methodized plotting to become the Queen (King?). He’d also probably act a bit more brutally throughout, annoyed at how they dare do this to him. He’d also explain that “I felt like it” if someone notices, because obviously he can’t say this happened without his intention. Really. That’d be a sign of weakness. Stupid siblings.

Prisca Glover is the main character in one of my WOTM entries, and the only one I feel like including here. She’s a reasonably well-known author who locks herself into her apartment and never ever leaves, developing a fear for all people and lives on the net. Her story includes having to go out to buy food because her normal source didn’t respond, and all the horrors that follow.
- Upon becoming male… Prisca would have no idea what to do. He’s locked into his apartment most of the time, people would DEFINITELY think he had simply pretended to be a female author to get more readers. He’d probably become even MORE reserved, trying to avoid even meeting that one individual who’s been his friend through this, trying to research a cure for her condition, move to the hospital. … Because of who Prisca is, he’d probably put the effort into trying to change back his gender through an operation and secretly donate money for that purpose. He’d get really, REALLY desperate…

… And that’s about that. … Perhaps I shouldn’t have done every character ever, hahaha. I’ve probably forgotten a few, who knows?
