They aren't SUPPOSED to, but because the metagames of a compettitive game is always changing, what's considered "good" is always changing, players are adapting to the "winning" strategies and making new ones to beat them. Therefore there will always be a character who's options and attack can be utilized in a way that more soundly defeats the rest of the cast more than other characters can.

Hence why I'll never be a competitive gamer. *crosses arms and "hmpfs"*
I've never been interested in tiers. I find they kind of don't get the point of the game. Tiers are not supposed to exist. Therefore I reject their existence.
Someone who would hate a game for having less characters... doesn't exist, I hope.

Because its Brawl with more characters, as far as you're concerned. If that bothers you, then you have a vendetta against Mewtwo and Roy personally, not Melee.

I think it is the atmosphere around Melee he hates, not any characters...

None of them are well balanced. 64, Melee and Brawl all have horrible balancing. Easily the worst balancing in fighting game history.

I have no idea where you're coming from there. I have no experience with the first one's balancing, I can agree Melee had some balancing issues as I could determine which character I was better as, but Brawl? I can pick any character and fare exactly as well. It was a huge improvement. I quite love it because I couldn't discern any character to be better than any other. Except Diddy Kong. I can't play Diddy Kong for life.

... Laughed at you for picking Captain Falcon? I don't understand at all.
I prefer Brawl because it is more balanced on a casual level. I can pick ANY character and still fare a decent chance against virtually all my friends. As someone who always without exception goes with random character, I am very thankful for this. There was once a melee tournament at school I was made to join, and I got a few strange looks when I rolled dice to see which character I should play. From someone who could never take the time to become professional in any game, their reactions were worth everything. Of course I lost, but their reactions? Almost every single one of them having to pause for a moment realizing they had nothing to say to me? Priceless.

I gotta say I am surprised that all those rolls screwed her over. I was not expecting her to get hit by everything.

That was the idea. That everything wouldn't hit her or that she'd be guarded at least once, that is. She DID have Avoid+, after all. I did guess she might be dual-striked, but... XD
I should get the time to work soon enough. I have an idea and I am intending to compete. It isn't a very large idea, though, probably won't be Adva- ... ... ... um, will probably be Flash Fiction rather than a Short Story. Haha. *cough*
Never used that function. Probably because I almost never used pairing to begin with. It has so much more strategic use in a pvp battle compared to a pve battle, and I never played against another player. Didn't even know it existed before Olsted asked about it a few pages back, either I missed it completely or forgot it. Oh, well.

Edit: Yupp. Just started up my 3DS to check if the Transfer command was real. Experimented a bit with it. I gotta mention my surprise, both at it existing and at me not knowing it existed. It was quite the stare of disbelief I had when I looked down on the screen. Oh, well.

Edit 3: There never was a guide-entry telling that Transfer existed or how to use it! XD

Edit 4: Unless it, like, showed up after the chapter I stopped on. Like. Haha.

Edit 2: And Yasuno was the one I wanted to train the most. Haha. Guess I'll go kill some Risen with her after this.

Ayuna Engage Isaac with Crossbow (-2, 0)
Ryouko Move (0, -1)
Takaho Move (-1, 0), Engage Isaac with Fire (-1, 1)

Awaiting to see result.
