Bio

Long time roleplayer since 2000. I could never get into DnD, so when I learned about "Post by Play" RPGs, I decided to give it a go to improve my writing skills. Started in Yahoo! Clubs which would eventually become Yahoo! Groups. After that site died down, I would eventually find Gateway Roleplay in 2011. Recently that site died so one RPG I was in migrated here in April 2025.

One thing all RPGs I've been involved in have Romance. That's mandatory for me. I prefer pre-planned romance, but I can do the natural too. Besides roleplaying, I also play video games, read romance novels and manga, draw, write, and watch YT videos a lot.

Will you be using the rules you had created or will you be revamping them? I do enjoy historical stuff since they are rare.
Well, I am glad he took it all in stride. I'll post for Nelly tomorrow, so she'll give Elysium so space lol.
Hey Savant, would you believe me if I told you that Nelly was holding back in talking about Veronica, Heath, and Iliana lol? Shis is a gossip due to her talkative nature.

#808000 ~ Outside Main Hall

Heath listened carefully as Sofia introduced herself, not mentioning her divine parent either. It was fine with him. It was times like these he was glad for his lie detection skills. The young lady by all appearances seemed fine. Heath liked to think he was a good judge of character, and not just because of his abilities. His mom once told him one could learn a lot by observing rather than acting. It was something his aunts helped him with too due to their own Wiccan methods. He really did miss their console and his father too. Even when he moved out of the house, he stayed close. Not being able to see them in months was harder than he thought.

Sofia explained she didn't need any help navigating the campgrounds. Instead she wanted to ask questions. During this exchange, Heath kept his expression neutral. He was polite, but he wasn't someone who smiled a lot too. Recently Iliana mentioned he should work on that more. Hearing that from her of all people was a bit of surprise, especially when she added that he wasn't the most approachable person. Maybe that was something he got from his mother. The few times Athena had been around him, she was never maternal and he couldn't recall ever seeing her smile, though it was obvious she cared about him. Contrast that with Iliana's mother, Demeter, who was very kind to Iliana and him whenever she showed up.

"Sure I can answer your questions. At least I'll try to. I've only been here for several months. There are others who've been here way longer than I have like Andy and Daniel."

As he said this, he caught site of Trinity and Wes finally showing up. It didn't take much for him to figure out what they had been doing since they were a bit late to show up since the announcement. Still he was happy for them, especially after what happened a couple of months ago. He a bit guilty that he was the reason they ended up facing down that boar he fought, but he gave himself a break too since the situation was very chaotic and he did what he could to keep himself alive. He still needed to thank them for saving his life too even though, he didn't know how they defeated it. When he could, he had done his best to try to find Wes's prosthetic arm. Sadly it was never found. Hopefully he could get a new one. But it was more important that both of them were alive and fully healed.

#4a766e ~ Exploring the Campgrounds

"I have already picked a cabin. And sure, I don’t mind going inside the buildings. Do you do other things besides make healing ointments? I’ve known about the gods for… a long time, but I know more about Poseidon than I do about the other gods and their children. What’s the difference between your healing and healing from a child of Apollo?”

This caused Iliana to pause and think how she was going to answer that questions, at least the second one. The first was easy enough to answer.

"Well, I enjoy gardening. I have a greenhouse next to my cabin. I can make things grow, but I get more satisfaction of not relying on that ability. Best to let things grow on their own through human methods."

One would think she learned gardening from her mother, but she mostly learned this skill from Heath's aunts. He mother obviously encouraged it. Her mother never had time to teach her. She only got to see her mother's garden briefly as a child during her brief stay in Olympus after her father died. She only been there a few weeks before going back to Earth. She recalled crying for her mother since she clinged to her those weeks. Demeter though got stern for once and told her to be brave and reminded her that she couldn't always be there to take care of her. She had been a bit of a brat towards Heath and his family at first, but that did change. It was funny, she loved Heath's family, but never fully saw them as family, except for Heath himself. Maybe it was because she learned he was special like her.

Snapping out of her thoughts, she tried her best to answer Ocean's second question.

"Well, I no expert in healing for one thing. My healing ointments can only heal minor injuries and ailments, mostly things like small cuts, sore muscles, and headaches. I am still a novice. While I never saw an Apollo's child in action, Apollo himself, well, he healed me once when I had serious injuries after something happened to me before I came to camp. It's why I am here now, for my protection. But I'd like to think any of his children could do something similar since my most serious injury was something no human doctor could heal."

Thinking of Apollo made her think of Cherise. She survived the last battle but soon left camp. She tried being there for her since her best friend was one of the victims. Rae was someone Iliana wanted to be friends with but never got the chance. Cherise had been devastated so Iliana wasn't too surprised she left. She hoped she was doing better now.

So the pair of them explored the campgrounds. Iliana tried answering questions while trying to get to know Ocean, but that was easier said than done. Iliana did see other campers, old and new, but kept her attention on Ocean. After they were done, Ocean brings up the party and hoped they could hang out again. Iliana was relieved by this. Ocean was definitely nicer than Liv.

"Yes I'd like that. I haven't been able to make friends here yet, so I am trying to change that."

After Ocean left, Iliana decided to do what she intended to do after breakfast, bringing some of her healing goods to the infirmary. Decision made, she headed back to her greenhouse to gather them in a box that was packed with packing paper since the contents were fragile. It was a bit heavy, but she could manage. After putting it up in the infirmary, she was trying to figure out what to do next when she saw a thin person with curly hair. She couldn't tell if the person was a guy or girl, but they looked lost. Deciding if they needed help, Iliana approached the person.

"Um, hello, are you lost? Do you need any assistance?"

#f1724b ~ Elysium's cabin

Elysium seemed genuinely interested in his neighbors. Nelly could easily tell him everything she knew about him, and probably would have, but Nelly had a feeling those three wouldn't want her telling a stranger about certain things. Their trials were perfect examples of that.

"Well, I don't know a lot about Veronica, but she's a bit shy considering she's Aphrodite's daughter. Just to warn you, you might be initially drawn to her since any child of Aphrodite can affect anyone who would find them attractive. I am straight, so Veronica has no effect on me. Now, sadly, another camper named Wes, he's Aphrodite's son, he definitely affected me. Both try not to do that, but it's apparently something they have little control over from what I've learned. To the left of Veronica's cabin is Iliana. There's a lot I can say about her, but I doubt she'd want me to tell you about it since it's a serious matter. What I can tell you is she is a good person, just trying to find herself still. She has grown as a person though. She is nice, but try to be careful with her. You have serenity inducement right? That calms her down, I've your brother use it on her. She and Heath were good friends with him. Speaking of Heath, he's actually Iliana's adoptive brother. Iliana's father died when Iliana was just a kid. Since she couldn't stay with her mother, Demeter, Heath's family adopted her. Heath is Athena's son. A very chill guy, I almost find him a bit boring, but he is very reliable."

Nelly left it there and soon they made it to Elysium's cabin. His comment on how big it was had Nelly chiming in.

"Youd can modify things magically right? Maybe you can do that here."

Ethan was an expert in that area, but that was also because he wanted to be an architect. She didn't know if Elysium had the same kind of skill. Like for herself, her abilities differed in expertise. She couldn't clone herself like her father could, but she was trying to get better at that. Following Elysium into his home and followed his lead in removing her boots since she didn't want to track in snow into his new place. It was very different from her cabin. A bit too homey for her own tastes. She wasn't surprised by the fireplace. She didn't know a lot about Hestia, but she knew she was the Goddess of the Hearth. She lets out a low whistle.

"Glad you like it. Was there anything else you needed? I personally love this camp, despite all that's happened. I hope you like it too." she said honestly.

Hey Savant, I like how Anatoliy has a 'scent log' for all of the chars lol.
Yes exactly. Just move her along with your char. Auto is a roleplaying term I've been using for ages. You always need permission to move someone else's char, so I am just letting you do that ahead of time.
<Snipped quote by Pristine1281>

That's actually what I kind of did. I just copied Lochlan's post and posted it into google docs on a lighter gray background so I could read it xD

And your post wasn't short! I enjoyed it! And I completely understand so don't worry about it.

Hey Savant, feel free to auto Nelly until they make it to your boy's cabin.

#808000 ~ Outside Main Hall, on the Activities Field

Seeing Iliana leave the table, he watched her approach a new camper. He couldn't help but observe to make sure she was going to be okay. Seeing the stranger offer a hand, Heath figured he could let her be for now. Standing up, Heath exited the main hall. Walking out he saw campers interacting more. He saw Nelly start walking off with the one guy near her. Looked like she was going to help him find a cabin. If anyone knew the layout of this camp, she be the one due to her perfect visual memory. She had helped in that area of the reconstruction where everything originally was, down to the smallest detail. She put in some manual labor, but often was the one to transport goods and materials, at least the ones she could carry. While she was strong, she was nothing compared to someone like Duke or Liam or Trinity when it came to physical strength.

Glancing around, Heath saw one camper by herself looking at one of the maps Andy had provided. She definitely stuck out with her white hair. More importantly, he was feeling like his normal self. He knew a few campers could draw people in through no fault of their own, like Veronica. He wondered where she was, especially since he was her neighbor. They still talked and hung out. Iliana got along well with her too. Refocusing on the present, Heath looked back at the young woman again. Deciding to see if she needed any assistance, he approached her, making sure he didn't surprise her.

"Morning, are you needing any help, lass? My name is Heath, I've been at the camp for several months now, so I know where everything is at." he asked, his Scottish accent obvious.

He decided to not reveal who is parent was yet. He always revealed it when someone asked though. One thing Heath never did was judge anyone based on their parent. He did his best to try and figure out what the abilities of others were. Only ones he knew a great deal about were ones he'd either seen them use their powers or ones who told him.

#4a766e ~ Outside Main Hall, close to Infirmary

Iliana didn't have to wait long for a response. A part of her was nervous about the response too for she normally wasn't the type to approach people. It was the other way around. But she was trying to change that. Granted, she doubt she would have approached someone like Mason, who was very intimidating.

”I’m Ocean. Poseidon’s daughter. It’s a pleasure, Iliana.”

Seeing the hand, Iliana tentatively shook her hand before pulling back. Hearing she was Poseidon's daughter made Iliana think of Liv. She wasn't a very pleasant person, but Iliana learned a lot from her from their dual. She was the one who unknowingly taught Iliana to grow a spine for the woman had took advantage of one of Iliana's weaknesses, her fear of hurting others. Heath had told her she had been in complete control of her powers up to that point too, but since Liv (as well as everyone else at the camp at the time) had seen her trial and knew her weaknesses. Liv's death during the Pandora's box incident had sadden her, but her brother's death definitely hurt for Nick was sent there to help them get back into shape after the trials since Poseidon had sent them. This gave Iliana a thought, did Poseidon send one of his children to be in charge of them again? Her mother had told her that Poseidon liked to take charge and she did see it firsthand. Iliana was jarred out of her thoughts when Ocean spoke up again.

“I didn’t see you at the gate when I walked past, are you new or did you already live here?"

"Oh, I've been here for several months now, but nowhere near as long as others. I would have been here last year, but well, something happened, and I couldn't come."

Iliana wasn't about to reveal her past to a stranger. It wasn't something she wanted to think about. Her nightmares were bad enough. She didn't know what to say next, so she was relieved when Ocean spoke up again.

“I just got here this morning, but I haven’t had a chance to tour the campgrounds yet,"

There was a pause before she finished with, "I don’t mean to impose…”

"Have you found a cabin yet? We have cabins by the lake if that interest you. But I guess I can show you around also. Campgrounds are pretty extensive. We just got through with reconstruction yesterday so it's safe to go into the main buildings"

Iliana had been planning to do a few things this morning, but they could wait. She just hoped she wasn't a dull tour guide. Once they got outside, Iliana figured the best course of action was to head to the left first. She did see more new campers had indeed arrive and saw a few current campers assisting them like Sylas, Nelly, Duke, Daniel, and even Heath was helping someone. That made her glad. She wanted him to interact with people more. She caught site of the Carmichaels too. She was fine with Lochlan, but she was unsure about his sister, Blair. She also knew Blair was technically Heath's sister too since she was Athena's daughter. Iliana did want to be on good terms with both, but she really hadn't interacted with them that much. She would try to remedy that now that reconstruction was over. Still she couldn't help but worry for some reason when she saw Blair make a beeline for a new camper, all the while briefly interacting with a blonde camper. She wouldn't focus on that and instead focus on Ocean.

"Um, the building we just left is the Main Hall, it's basically where we eat. This building next to it is the Infirmary. I've been spending more time here since I've started creating more healing ointments. I am not able to do things like an Apollo child can do, but I try to help in that area at least. Did you want to go inside the buildings?"

#f1724b ~ Outside, heading towards Elysium's cabin

"I’ve heard, my mother explained that a lot had happened, so I was honestly shocked when I came into what is here. I thought it would be worse off. Gods must not keep up-to-date with everything."

That caught Nelly's attention. Her dad certainly didn't tell her about the current happenings of the camp before she arrived, so she wasn't expecting Elysium to know that.

"Oh it was bad," Nelly said, sounding somber for once, but then perked back up, "But we all worked together to fix things by ourselves. I think it helped that some of us had powers that sped up the reconstruction process. Like Hecate's kids could use magic to conjure things, especially Andromeda, or Andy as we call her. Your own half-brother was here and helped, but he left because he wanted to return to college. We had just finished everything yesterday."

She didn't mention those that got seriously hurt or died in the last incident. The last thing she wanted to do was scare anyone, especially someone like Elysium who probably could only do so much in an actual fight. If he was anything like Ethan, his powers would be similar. She had noticed that certain siblings who shared the same divine parent had similar powers.

Soon Elysium apologized about the peanut food. Nelly waved her hands.

"It's no problem! I actually don't remember the incident much, I just felt intense pain and fainted, only to wake up to see my dad with Apollo and my mom. My dad has no skill in healing, so he literally pulled Apollo with him hehe. It was certainly a sight for an 8-year-old. But yeah, I always have an EpiPen with me at all times out of habit. Here I don't have to worry about getting the wrong food at the Main Hall, but it's always better to be safe than sorry."

Soon Elysium left to get a map and Nelly watched his one bag. After picking out a cabin, Nelly got a good look at the one he picked. Smiling, she started leading Elysium the way. During this time, he gave her the Kale chips. She immediately dug right into them. Oh they were very good. Nelly was glad that she wasn't a picky eater like others, besides her allergy at least.

"Ohhh I love garlic. Even though I was born in Greece, I have traveled a lot with my mother and we both love so many herbs and spices. Our home base is in Louisiana. It's hard to tell that though since I've never lived in any place for too long due to my mom's job. Anyway, your cabin won't have any neighbors, but you'll still be close to Heath, his adoptive sister, Iliana, and Veronica. They're all nice folk. We'll be seeing their cabins soon. Yours is behind theirs. And behind your cabin will be the lake, it has its own beach."

Hey Savant, you can do what I do then- highlight the text. I've done this before in other RPGs when the Textcode blended into the background. Also, I am going to again wait for other posts before I post for Nelly again. Sorry if my post was short too. I was just starting on her post when I had to take care of something IRL, something happened and it left me emotionally drained so I didn't feel up to writing more for Nelly. I am actually empathic, so it is a double edge sword. I soak up emotions like a sponge.

#808000 ~ Main Hall

Heath got to a good stopping point. He was actually working on something very personal that he knew he would never get publish, a record of his Camp experiences, including his own personal thoughts. One could say he was writing a diary, but it was more akin to an autobiography. He was careful to only include facts also. He included all he met from those where here briefly to others who had been here longer than him. Deciding to see if he could find Andy to see if she needed help with tonight's party, he bundled up again and headed outside. His cabin gave him a clear view of the Main Hall and he was quick to see people around it. Coming closer, he saw Andy show up and welcome the new campers. She pulled out a map of the camp and talked about the cabins and other things, including tonight's party. While she explained these things, Heath got a good look at the faces he did not recognize.

First was a brunette who was with Nelly. Nelly was someone who was very gregarious so he wasn't surprised she had already found someone to talk to. The man next to looked decent enough. Daniel was assisting a female brunette. Daniel was another person who liked being around people. He was still someone Heath didn't know what to think of, but he was close to his sister, so that was something.

There seem to be two people of darker coloring too, one male and one female. Growing up where he did, it was rare to see people like that so it was a bit of a shocker to him. Still he would never judge. The female was close to the Main Hall while the male was close to the entrance. Another guy was wearing a hoodie, so Heath couldn't get a good look at him to see what he looked like he had pale skin. There was a young person too who looked androgynous in appearance. They looked nervous too. Polar opposite of that was a blonde with a lot of luggage. Heath would be lying if he didn't feel this instant tug towards her and that made him wary. In same ways she reminded him of Blair, who he learned was also his sister, but he didn't go out of his way to get to know her. He knew that his mother had other offspring, but he had hope it wasn't someone that high maintenance. Oh well, it was what it was.

Besides the new people, he saw Sylas and Mason, both heading for the Main Hall. Also after she spoke, Andy headed into the Main Hall also. Deciding to see if Iliana was there, and to check with Andy, he himself passes the new campers, giving them a nod. Once inside, he's quick to see his sister, but approaches Andy first.

"Andy, I just want you to know, if you need help setting up for the party tonight, I'll lend a hand. I'll leave you to eat now." he said.

After getting her reaction, he nodded and headed for Iliana's table.

Iliana was sitting in a spot where she could see whoever came in. So when she saw someone she didn't recognize, she couldn't help but stare. Iliana knew new campers would be showing up, but not this quickly. The young woman looked nice, but Iliana knew to be cautious of who she delt with in this camp. Still she liked to give people the benefit of the doubt. Still it was a bit of a surprised when the young woman smiled and waved at her. Iliana naturally waved back and decided to go back to her breakfast, which was waffles with berries and cream. For drink she had a cup of orange juice. She really loved her fruit. Soon a few more people came in, one being Mason and soon Sylas. Then finally Andy. She couldn't help but see how Andy avoided Mason. Iliana didn't need empathy to know something had happened between them since the Pandora's Box situation. Still she never got involved in anyone's personal matters. She just hoped they could work things out because there was tension between them and it made Iliana uncomfortable.

It was no surprise to see Heath come in. He always checked to see if she was eating around this time since he knew she liked working in her garden in the morning. And she knew he would have ate already too. After Heath briefly talked with Andy, he headed straight towards her table and sat right in front of her.

"Morning Heath," she said simply.

"Morning, I guess you heard Andy's announcement?"

"Yes,"

Silence stretched out between them. Heath didn't know how to talk to his sister anymore. Likewise, Iliana didn't just have as much to talk to him about. She was still trying to figure herself out, but she did know she had to do this on her own and didn't want to rely on Heath as much. She would never hurt him deliberately though. Almost done with her meal, she tried conversing a bit more.

"I wonder who the new leader will be and when more campers will arrive."

"Well, more campers have already showed up. The gods work fast it seems. Andy already gave them information regarding the cabins and about tonight's party."

Iliana nodded before finishing her meal.

"I'll see you later," she said before getting up and taking her dirty dishes away.

While Iliana had planned to bring some of her healing goods to the infirmary, she decided to greet the person who waved at her. Shyly walking up to the brunette, she smiles gently.

"Hi, um, I am Iliana, Demeter's daughter. Nice to meet you."

She didn't know what else to say after that.

Nelly's eyes widen when Elysium mentioned he was Hestia's son. That made her think of Ethan. They guy decided to leave to finish his schooling apparently. She wasn't one to judge, but it was a darn shame he didn't stay long enough to meet his brother.

"Fascinating! I do hope you like our architecture here then. At lot happened here a few months ago and we had to rebuild a lot. And sure, I'll help you find a place. I have perfect visual memory, so I know where everything is."

Nelly was pleasantly surprised to see how resourceful the man was. Having traveled a lot, Nelly found herself in areas where she had to bring her own gear and survival stuff. Camp Athens itself was pretty high class for campgrounds in her opinion. Like the ultimate form of 'glamping'. She couldn't help but stiffen at the sight of the peanut snack.

"Ohhh, all of that sounds great, but sadly I am highly allergic to peanuts. Learned that the hard way, but hey at least I got to meet my father for the first time that way."

She would have said more, but she saw Andy from the corner of her eye and saw her talk about the cabins and other things she figured she missed from this morning's announcement. She loved hearing about the party though.

"Well, there you go. Do you want to check out the map to see what cabin you like? I can show you where it's at once you've picked. And the magic part about the cabins is true. It definitely worked for me when my cabin was reconstructed. I've never had baked kale before, so can I try that, please?"

After she helped Elysium, she would definitely get a real meal in her before interacting with others.
