Carmelita cursed the inaction of some of her teammates. G-Man was still too green, he just didn't get it, so his reflexes were slow. Hell, his realization was slow! Jude didn't seem to be any better in the situation. She twisted round quick as she could to see anything and everything by the glow of the table, but it was too late. Something touched her and she knew that it would be impossible to react quickly enough. Several minutes passed as she submitted to the bondage of a bolas that had struck her from a blind spot, wrapping around her torso and pinning her arms in place. Thankfully her mind was insanely fast, so her balance wasn't thrown and she could activate her powers at speeds beyond normal perception.

The bolas glowed red hot around the young latina, then vibrated itself into a thousand pieces. Accel was free before she was really tied up. A smile would have passed her lips if it weren't a waste of time. Now let's see, where did that bolas originate from? The light of the glowing table wouldn't be enough to spot a master of stealth, and that was made worse by how the suit he wore could camouflage. She was certain she could calculate the weapon's trajectory, but if he were still there then he wouldn't be The Batman, now would he?

Instead Carmelita decided to do what she could to flush out their mentor. A hand slipped into a pouch of marbles, designed for quick and easy release. The little orbs accelerated to insane speeds in her hand, literally jumping from her open palm to the rest of the room and exploding in bright flashes of light! The sudden shift from near darkness to bright light would disorient anybody unprepared, which hopefully included The Batman, but they had a secondary effect that was her true goal: A layer of smoke began to permeate the room. Terrible on the lungs, but great for showing off an invisible force.
Well I've reached that time. @FiroIV, I know you've been online after each of my warnings. It wouldn't take much time or effort to say you're still interested or that something was going on preventing you from investing the time for a post, so I have to conclude you're no longer interested in this game. It's a shame since you never got started, but oh well. Unless you provide me a very good reason, you're out of the game. For everyone else's benefit, I'm ruling the character never existed to begin with, so the MM are, sadly, back to 3 active PCs.

Again, @Eklispe, would you mind updating the 0th post? Please and thank you.

For everyone else, I'll look to get this updated tomorrow or Tuesday.
"The prisoner is escaping!" a random sailor called out. "Mister Krabbe, Kite got ou-ooph!" His warning was cut short by a wrench to the face. Another six men appeared and surrounded Wafer D. Kite, but they were just as easily disposed. Still, it felt as though Krabbe's men were without end. That or those knocked aside earlier came back for more.

As the carpenter fought for escape, The Vice was still dealing with the tag team duo of Lilliana and Feya. The fitness nut took a risky maneuver by throwing them both up into the air while her arm was still being crushed. The amount of pain that move would cause was tremendous, but her mastery of self was far greater. Krabbe flipped into the air with her, having nothing to anchor him to the ground. "Wooah!" They flipped up and Feya began kicking the man with fantastic strength! With each blow she could hear more breath escaping his lungs, but his armor was holding.

Lilliana creatively dodged Krabbe's Crustacean Stream, the high pressure blast of water flying off in the distance, and in the process caused some minor damage to the ship, flinging the wood at Krabbe like a flail while he was indisposed of in the air. However it seemed the women underestimated how strong of a warrior this bounty hunter truly was. Kookiookiooki! You call those kicks?!" The man's claw clamped even harder than before, securing Feya as he spun at the peak of their jump. He used the momentum of her own kick to flip the both of them harder than he could have on his own, then slammed her body into Lilliana's makeshift flail, releasing Feya from his iron grip for the first time. The doctor shot forward like a bullet, slamming into her combat partner. Krabbe landed back onto the top deck of his ship, but fell to one knee. He was breathing quite heavily.

"The last time I fought someone with your strength and ferocity, it was the very crab I made my name on!" He stood back up to full height, pushing himself up with the claw. Once up he pointed the claw at the woman, his pride and joy, and barked out, "Men! It's time to end this! RAISE THE EMPEROR VICE!"

"Yes sir!" A number of men called out, abandoning their stations. One made it to the helm, where he began operating a few levers by himself. The others surrounded him, offering protection.

"As you can see, the King Crab has been outfitting with the outer shell of the giant crab to enforce her hull, rendering your cannonfire worthless! I harvested other parts for my armor, and for the armor of my top men, the Shrimp Brigade! I made my very name on this claw that crushes all obstacles in my way! But don't you know? Crabs have two claws... A small claw for gathering food, which I wear upon my arm, and a large claw for combat!" Just as his speech reached a climax, the sea parted as a single massive red claw cleared the air. Attached to the front of the King Crab, the claw could easily fit the Rum Runner between its clamp, and snap the ship in half.

"Men! They've had their opportunity for surrender! CRUSH THEIR SHIP! SEND THE SPLINTERS TO THE BOTTOM OF THE SOUTH BLUE!"

"Sir?" a man called out. "The den den mushi is still on!"

Over on the Rum Runner, things were going up and down. Caesar continued his one on two battle, dealing with the lion share of Shrimp Brigade for the rest of the crew. His gambit started out simple, barely dodge the chain ball, let the chain wrap around his arm, and yank the yellow armored one in closer. Simple turned out to be best, as the plan went off without a single hitch! Yellow was actively surprised at the development, and the half-mink's superior strength proved to be more than he could resist. "Woah!" he yelped. Caesar's machete came toward the Shrimp Brigade Yellow, and there was nothing he could do about it! Clang! Unfortunately there was something Green could do about it. Though Caesar had intended to pull Yellow in Green's way, the trident using warrior was more quick than Caesar had anticipated and recovered too fast. The trident caught Caesar's machete between its prongs, twisted, and disarmed Caesar. However, the mink's fist still collided with Yellow right in the face, breaking the man's nose and knocking out two teeth. Then both vanished completely, weapon and all. Wait, what? Yup, they were gone. No poof of smoke, no light show, nothing. They just... Vanished. Weird.

Meanwhile, Captain Cedric D. Boone had ordered a switch on opponents. Taking Violet's bullet so he could get a better shot on Blue, the captain unleashed his shotgun shot as Dirk dangled near helplessly from the man's spike covered fist. Blue wound up for another punch, but it never got to connect. The insane thief was crafty, and stole the man's helmet right from his head! Dirk parried Blue's second punch with the man's own helmet, leaving him completely baffled and unsuspecting as a volley of gunpowder propelled pellets struck him in the back head on. "Urk!" The man's eyes turned white and rolled up. He released Dirk, then fell forward, but he never hit the floor. Mid-fall Shrimp Brigade Blue disappeared. He vanished in the exact same instant as the others! What was going on here?

At the top deck, Shrimp Brigade Red had a situation on his hands. Bonesword had just directed the Rum Runner on a collision course with the King Crab. He wasn't worried about the King Crab being harmed, not with the Shell Shield deployed, but there was still one major problem. He was on the Rum Runner! To make matters worse, he would have to wrest control of the ship from not just the Skeleton Kid, but also "Oilburn." Oh wait, Oilburn was now rushing him with a long tentacle made of oil. Lovely.

"Men! It's time to end this! RAISE THE EMPEROR VICE!" That clinched it. Red needed a new tactic and had to end this battle, fast!

"Voice of the Heavens!" he cried out, spinning his hands and thrusting them up in a new pose. "Shrimp Brigade Recall!"

Nothing happened.

"Waru waru Quatro!" Red shifted his pose one more time, then three more people seemed to grow out from him! Each one separated from the original like they had just been hiding right behind him, and together they struck a group pose. "Shrimp Brigade go!"

The split off in teams of two. The Green one with a trident and the original Red charged toward Bonesword. Red jumped off from Green's trident for extra momentum, flying right for his opponent with a mighty "JUSTICE PUUUUUNCH!" Yellow and Blue, both showing absolutely no signs of the injuries they had suffered below deck, steeled themselves against Slick's attack. Yellow hurled his mighty chain ball horizontally to collide with the whip of oil, while Blue flip-jumped from Yellow's shoulders to strike Slick from above with a double spiked punch.

Meanwhile, John Krabbe was giving some kind of speech from his ship. All the while the ocean itself parted as an enormous red claw rose up, attached to the front of the enemy ship. It snapped once and the air itself vibrated from the force of impact.
Just as a reminder, @Lugubrious and @FiroIV, we've got 2 days until the deadline. Firo in particular I would like an explanation if you could, please. You haven't posted anywhere in 12 days, but promised you were making a post here for us and you have definitely been online since then.
Akoni found himself somewhat irritated after his Council agent allies had entered the mausoleum. Their assistance was, of course, welcome to the situation. What he had taken issue with was Fenn’s remark that he should “do something,” as if the wizard were not already entrenched with extremely potent and complicated magics that allowed the hellhound and others to further beat down the hatred that was far stronger than it had any right to be. Though the old man said nothing, a glance of annoyance should have told the demon everything he needed to know, should Fenn be paying attention.

Lily glanced down as Souta made his way into the mausoleum, a sliver of genuine respect showing on her features. However, as he spoke, her expression turned more and more dour, and she let her attention return to the Hatred currently looking from person to person, appearing uncertain; movements slower than they should be. When at last Souta finished, Lily couldn't help but state the grim reality of things: "And more likely that helicopter will be disintegrated the moment he takes notice of it."

She leaned forward, wings half-spread. "But for now, we have this guy to deal with!" A mighty beat of her wings propelled her forward, expression set with gritty determination as the distance between her and the hatred vanished in a matter of moments. It did react, but it was too slow. Bringing its scythe around, it made a swing that would have plunged it into her neck had she continued but Lily, noticing this, slammed one clawed foot into the ground, using the momentum to twist while she was still outside the range of the scythe and let her tail hit the Hatred like a battering ram, sending it tumbling to the floor.

Henry sighed at the whole exchange, holding off the lesser demons had been a real chore. Luckily there was only one left, so he leveled his sniper rifle at the Hatred as it rolled to its feet and fired.

The demon rose its scythe by reflex, the projectile crashing against the blade at the last moment, but this proved to be the final glow coming off a dying candle. Still staggering from the bullet’s impact, it failed to move away as Fenn brought one of his arms to the monster’s back and slammed it down to the floor. Cracks spread on the stone.

The hellhound lowered its head to sniff at the Hatred as it continued to writhe, vainly trying to push the weight from its back, its scythe pinned between it and the ground as Fenn pressed his bulk over it. The hound snorted in displeasure, trails of smoke falling over the fallen creature’s head.

“Its strength is leaving it,” he gruffed.

“Clearly,” Akoni muttered, somewhat strained as he pulled forth more of the hatred’s energy into the orb.

“Then be done with it,” Lily grunted and rose to her full height, stepping over to Fenn. She looked down at the lesser demon, clicking her tongue at it. “Pity. You held such promise.” She looked up and around at the other individuals assembled. “So, what do we do with this one? Squash it? Dissect it? Did seem stronger than a normal Hatred,” her eyes trailed back to the thing underneath Fenn’s paw, “I wonder why.”

Souta waved his hand at the demon, dismissive. “We don’t have time to play doctor. If someone wants to poke around in its insides, it should be after the seal’s secured. Right now we should decide what we’re doing next. Are we going after the chopper, or not? The smith crossed his arms in anticipation of an answer.

“In that case, squash it, Fenn.” She folded her wings tightly against her back and turned around, facing Souta. “And we’ll avoid the helicopter. Unless you invented a noiseless one, it’s only going to make it that much easier to find us. We’ll be on foot—Fenn and I can easily clear the way through any opposition we might meet.” The demoness looked around at each of her companions, then asked. “Any objections? And Akoni, how long will it take to get that thing under control.”

Souta replied with a shrug, though he managed to slip in, “Guess I’m just along for the ride then,” before an ally’s outburst.

“It would already be under control if the demon were simply slain,” retorted the mage with a low grumble. “What made the hatred special was a combination of a devil trigger, and creating a symbiotic link to this orb, of which I have reversed, causing the drain to its powers you’ve witnessed. Any second now… And…”

The blue aura emanating from Akoni’s eyes grew brighter and larger, then all at once focused inward. If the others had been expecting some grand display or showy performance, they would most definitely have been disappointed. “Success. The power is once again sealed within the orb. If we make haste, the Seal and Sevrin shall not elude us.” He immediately began heading toward the nearest exit, caring not for the Hatred that still barely clung to life. The cracking noise that arose from behind him told him all he needed to know about its ultimate fate.

“If he isn’t already inside,” the smith muttered, glancing at the Hatred’s messy demise. He made a mental note to bring a soul jar with him next time, provided he could get his hands on one. Working as an agent of the Charred Council, whether voluntary or not, made for even more opportunities to collect materials than working with Gilgamesh. In the meantime, he would have to make do with what he had: a tricky scenario he could not escape from or solve. Though he didn’t like this plan of action, Souta was ready to move out.

“We may well open the way for the snake ourselves.” The dog took a lumbering step off the disappearing corpse and oriented himself towards the exit. Fenn scoffed, “Fetching these keys may have been our most foolish idea yet.”

Lily stepped over to Akoni, crouching down take a look at the orb in question. “I’m not so certain, Fenn,” she said, tapping a claw at the item in question. “If we just left them, he would find them in time. If we have them, we can stop him from getting them. And—” she rose to her full height again, turning to face the Smith and Hound, while taking care not to bowl over Akoni with her tail “—assuming that the Council is as powerful as some claim, they should be able to protect it effortlessly.” She paused then, brows furrowing. For several moments she looked lost in thought until, finally, she looked up at Fenn, then at the orb Akoni yet held. “Speaking of safe-keeping,” she continued, “if one of us just holds onto the key, I have few doubts that Sevrin would simply be able to take it and make a run for it, even were it myself. I know very few, demons or angels, who are faster than me, and I have almost no doubts that Sevrin could outrun me, even in the weakened state he’s bound to be in. So...” Her eyes trailed from the orb to Fenn one last time. “What about a temporary snack, Fenn?”

A knowing gleam crossed the hound’s eyes. “I feared you would not ask.”

As much as Souta wanted to crack a joke about giving the dog a treat, he kept to himself, hoping that his curt silence would instead convince the group to start moving. Every minute in the mausoleum was another that the forces of evil had to realize their dire goals.

Akoni however found absolutely no humor in the suggestion. In fact, he found it very logical, and intriguing. Once they had returned to the Charred Council, it would no doubt be safe in the Citadel, where he could study the artifact undisturbed. In the meantime he had to admit that unless the being possessing Sevrin was capable of sensing the orb, hiding it within Fenn’s body provided a most fortuitous hiding place. Perhaps the hellhound could even bond to it the same way that hatred had done so.

“Here,” he said, tossing the object straight for Fenn’s face. The dog caught it in his jaws, and the next moment it had disappeared down his gullet. For the power the artifact purported to possess, the act had been decidedly unceremonious. “Perhaps you can utilize its power as the hatred did, and give us an additional edge against Sevrin. But we waste too much time.” Without another word he conjured a gate centered amidst them all, and produced the second gate outside of the mausoleum. Doors were for chumps, as was conventional physics.

“And with just one mouthful, Fenn just became the most attractive target for any and all mindless demon in this forest,” Lily idly commented, already walking towards the hole she had created in the wall.

The hound paused, as if to consider. “It begs the question.”

Lily’s jaws clicked shut, shutting off the plume of fire she had used to clear the immediately vicinity outside. “Begs what question?”

“Can the Prince of Darkness afford to lose every demon in this forest?”
“My first request is that you shut your blasted mouth around me unless I talk to you first, and if I do, you answer me in a completely straightforward manner, with no prevarication or moronic chatter. Understand?”

There was a moment of stung quiet before Oren piped up weakly. “That was three things.”

“That was a three-parter.”

Apologies for the double post, but I was reading the recent Cyril posts to properly understand him in action, came across the above, and I couldn't let a Samurai Jack reference go unnoticed. It just tickled me.
So if I'm looking at this correctly, my next opponent is none of than our lovely GM himself, @Lugubrious. Veeeeery interesting. Well then, my esteemed colleague, I look forward to it. Noble knight vs noble pirate, excellent!
@rhema13 I'll definitely keep that in mind if and when I look to expand the adventuring roster. In the meantime, feel free to shadow, read, and participate in OOC discussions. :)

@Demon Shinobi Well Skype is a lot more active, but a couple members are only on Discord. That being said, the chats are a collective for both of the games I run, so you'll see people that aren't in this game. If you want to join the skype group, my contact name is professional.protagonist. As for Discord, here's the link. discord.gg/SMaaC6p
@Demon Shinobi I mean, you could go in that direction, but we already have Feya as a training but, haha. Side note, were you interested in joining either the skype group or the Discord chat for this game?
I always love to see other fans of Code Lyoko. I wrote a crossover fanfic with Doctor Who a while back called Digital Doctor that's pretty great, if the dozens of reviews are anything to go by. I can't promise that I'll be able to participate here, but I'll leave my interest regardless.
