So, we learn a little bit more about fusions, in this episode, as well as how the temple seems to be able to work.
On the temple. It seems like any gem or any fusion that is 'keyed' into the temple has a room designed accordingly to how the gem wants it to be.
For fusions. They are fusions, but absolutely their own person. Yes, Single Gems do have the memories of the fusions, and fusions contain the memories of the singles. They seem to be like two and two-thirds of a person mashed into one body.
Fusions, in addition to the weapons and abilities of their single components, also have unique and amalgamated weapons and powers. Garnet and her future vision is a testament to that, as Sapphire's vision is straightforward, Garnet's reflects Ruby's spontaneity, and all of the possible branding paths one could take.
Fusions seem to be centered to reflect on the specific high point between two gems. Garnet's theme is future, and how Rubles and Saph balance out directness and fluidity. Sardonyx seems to take in the prim and proper of both Pearl and Sapphire, while also being blunt at times, as Ruby can be. There are a number of reasons that Smoky could exist, but I think their theme is originality.

Also, isn't it interesting how, after reflecting on Jasper's corruption and fusion with the corrupted gems, we learn how Gems fuse through these high points?

@DesperatePersonfor just drabbles and Altiverse (our screw-around alternate universe where p much anything happens at any given time)? Well, I'll just write up something simple, and you go ahead and post back to it, as if it were any normal RP.

writing prompt for you to respond to

"Well, I'm off to train a little more. Wake me in the morning if you guys get up first." Eric, though sitting on the edge of the cliff like the others, knew that he had no purpose there. His breathing heavy and labored as he used the scabbard of his sword as a crutch to not only pick himself up, but to walk further away from the ledge And the setting sun beyond the horizon. His steps were slow and careful, the bottom of the scabbard reaching out to tap the ground around him every second or third step.

To those around Eric, the world was bathed in the orange of the setting sun. The air was cooling, and the breeze was light, though Eric could only take notice of two of those three things.

The others said nothing about Eric choosing to train more. After disbanding that group of highwaymen, rest is something that they all needed. They had taken the job from the town at the base of the mountain and walked with purpose through the winding pass that made the trip to the next town so much quicker than going around. They walked in, stormed the highwaymen and bandits, and took over their camp to settle down at for the night.

It was a shame he could never enjoy the sunset like they could, but they knew better than to bring it up around him. They would also never directly talk about his training and endless work, even if he were exhausted. Though quiet, he was a fiery spirit, and telling him outright to stop would not end well for the second party. Convincing him through other means, however, was a much safer course of action that would not involve being threatened with a blade.

@Raijinslayerworks well man, I like the new intro to the new Reggie. Still him, but still new, and I like how all of the legacy characters are being treated with growth, but I guess that's just because we've spent so long molding those characters and trying to do things with them that we have a good idea. Anyway, I'm getting off topic, he looks good!

@Raijinslayersodalite would never even think of it unless it was the one, single thing that would assist them, much less suggest it, but even she is capable of swallowing her pride if need be. As cool as their fusion would be, it'd still be an unlikely one.

headcannon that Sodalite is totally down for nicknames for fusions, rather than their actual names, but dislikes it when people give her herself nicknames

@Guardian Angel HarukiI mean that makes sense, but the only problem is that gems don't really seem to need sleep. At least, not like we do. Yeah, gems get tired, but they sleep of their own volition, not because they half to.
