"That's... yep. Thank's, Canrelian." Sodalite went from hopeful to deadpan in a matter of seconds after seeing her red friend up and save someone. "Yes, yes, thank you Carnelian, good work on saving that human!" She tried to be cheerful, she really did, but something about Carnelian's almost hyperactive attitude just drained Sodalite.

It wasn't long until Aqua prepared her and Carnelian a message, informing them about Homeworld. She scoffed and prepared her weapons. "You'd think that after all of this time, Homeworld would leave this planet alone. But no, they have to make sure that they can make earth as effective as possible, even after the kindergartens were shut down!"

@rocketrobie2So plot wise, If you don't mind too many spoilers, because not everything is revealed right off the bat, this is the simple stuff.

So, ten thousand years ago, the universe was threatened by Zarkon, the lord and commander of the Galra Empire. He overtook all that he saw fit to take, and was met with resistance by Voltron, the defender of the universe. However, Zarkon's forces scared King Alfor, who was in charge of the Paladins of Voltron, and ordered for the lions to be split up and hid in the corners of the universe. It was a choice that he had to make, and while he was killed by Zarkon, the Lions of Voltron, his daughter Allura, and her caretaker Coran, were all hidden safely.

Present day, ten thousand years later, Earth is just a little more advanced than it is now. Matt Holt, Sam Holt, and Takashi Shirogane (known as Shiro), were on a mission to Kerberos, a moon of Pluto, when they were abducted by the Galra Empire, and simply dismissed as missing by earth, as they have yet to come in contact with the Galra.

A young boy by the name of Pidge wants to find out what happened to the Kerberos mission and those who disappeared on it. With his friends Hunk and Lance, they escape the Galaxy Garrison, a school meant for space exploration, and travel to a crash site. They meet Keith, a GG dropout, and Shiro, who now has a robotic arm. The five of them are chased away by government goons to Keiths safehouse, where he's been looking for something.

The five of them discover the Blue Lion, hidden on earth, and the Lion accepts Lance as its new Paladin. The five get inside the Lion and are transported Via wormhole to the an unknown planet, where they find a castle and six occupants (two Alteans, four space mice). Allura tells her tale and informs the group that they are to become the new Paladins of Voltron, and must find the lions, reunite them, and stop the Galra Empire and end the ten thousand year reign of terror over the universe.

SO THE NEW VOLTRON, RIGHT? THE OLD TEAM IS NOT THE NEW TEAM. SHIRO, WHO WAS KNOWN AS SVEN IN THE ENGLISH OF THE ORIGINAL, IS NOT THE LEADER, AND HE IS NOT DEAD, HE'S PRETTY COOL. Note, all of the colors actually line up this time around. Keith Pilots Red, Lance Blue, Pidge, Green, Hunk, Yellow, and Shiro Black.

SO BACK TO THE YELLING. SHIRO IS COOL. He's not the edgy dad he looks like from promo shots, he's just a tired dad who wants to catch a break for like point zero seven seconds. Plus, he's like the oldest, since all of the other Pilots, known as the Paladins of Voltron, are all teens.

Lance, ladykiller. fucking dork. Yeah, the Sokka in Space character. He's cool, he's funny, he's like captain kirk, but younger and funnier. He hates Keith, proclaimed him as his rival back in school, even though Keith has no idea who Lance is.

Then you have Keith. He has no idea who Lance is. I guess you could call him Space S3 Zuko, but nicer, and with a bigger pinch of outcast. slightly edgy, but he's pretty cool, and he and Lance have some brother moments.

Hunk. Big, hungry, engineering whiz, also a dork. and gentle giant with a passion that burns with the slow cooking intensity of a wok.

Pidge. Small, brainy, smol. Pidge has his reasons for doing as he is, and is a little more selfish, but he does address his problems when they need to be addressed.

And you got Allura, the princess of Altea, and the current monarch of the Castle of Lions. She's more than a damsel in distress, and is pretty badass.

Coran, Coran, Coran. He's the big doofy uncle who doesn't exactly understand what's going on around him, but he tries, and that's all that really matters.

and there you have the main voltron Crew, who get whisked away from earth to become the defenders of the universe, whether they like it or not.

@RaijinslayerOrig Voltron was great Voltron Force was [REDACTED AND NOT MEANT FOR CHILD EYES], and I was talking about the new Voltron. I loved the new Thundercats show while it lasted.

it's not reallyyyyyyyyyyyy like PR or Sentai. I mean, yeah, group, robot, colors, but the characters are all just wonderful, plus it give me a reason to insert my love for Voltron into the thread for a little.

Well that's the question now, isn't it. We've seen that reforming gems change the appearance of the fusion a little, and given what we know about fusions, I think it's safe to say that, while at the foundation, they might not be changed, but the fusions will be a little more wary of such things.

Possibly, but I still stand by what I said. Both of them are defects in some way or another. Amethyst sat too long, and Steven is something that had never existed before that lives in the shadow of his dead mother. Both of them can't do the job that they're intended for, and make up for it in unique and unorthodox ways, while still remaining true to their characters and reflecting on what they want to be. Smoky Quartz is another progressive step in both of their lives, using their imagination and child-like attributes to turn a toy into a weapon, her lack of knowledge when speaking to Sardonyx (which I think was mostly Garnet, who had that reaction the last time Steven fused with someone new), and how Steven and Amethyst push each other to be more than the path laid out for them
