Appearance: Picture! Physically, Alice is only slightly shorter than Claire, though she's got a considerably different physique. Alice is definitely less muscular, though she's not really unathletic; she just tends to eat more and do different stuff.

Name: Alice Marlowe

Age: 18

Gender: Female

Power(s): Control and manipulation of her own hair. Not only is she able to direct it down to an individual strand--without, oddly enough, placing a strain on the skin it attaches too--and grow or shrink it, she can alter its properties. This means that, technically, Alice could turn her hair into incredibly long strands of cheesewire floating around on their own. Mostly, however, she uses this to avoid the costs and problems involved with dyeing it normally, and to skip haircuts or brushing her hair. Good for cooking when she's on her own, though.

Limits/Weaknesses: As a required secondary ability, Alice can feel through her hair, and it's no more durable than normal in the normal course of things. This actually makes it pretty hard for her to keep it a secret--as she'll reflexively avoid anything that might be painful--and makes damaging her hair somehow... problematic. Imagine having tens of thousands of fingers. Imagine having them all cut in half, or set on fire, or even just punched at once. She also can't really control it very will if she can't see it.

Equipment: Cigarettes, lighter, possibly an unmarked flask which generally has some sort of strong spirit in it. Unless she knows someone's checking for such things, in which case... strong coffee. Very strong, but definitely not trouble.

Personality: In general, Alice is laid back and very... unconcerned about things; she makes her way through life having fun, doing what she needs to do, and not getting too involved in troublesome things. This combines oddly with her determination to be a grand detective: she'll work hard at martial arts, go running, and study properly... but the instant she's done the necessary amount, she starts goofing off. Constantly.
She very much doesn't like being on her own, and it's a safe bet that she won't be sleeping on her own for at least two days out of every week.

History: Alice is adopted. There's no doubt about that: no-one in her house has ever been pregnant, and it's a family of three without a penis in sight. This has never really bothered her; nor has her parentage really caused her all that much trouble. With one of her parents as a prolific writer of detective fiction and the other a police officer who's basically stuck doing paperwork, it's no surprise that she developed a large interest in the law and enforcing it--and, with one parent focusing on film noir, she's decided what she wants to be...

Though her adoption of other elements of a Film Noir detective are more coincidental than anything else. Claire and Kaitlin were always close, so towards the end of highschool she gave them time alone to see if they'd finally get together. There was... no luck with that one at all, so she's quit giving them time like that. She did, however, manage to pick up plenty of bad habits in her nights out--smoking was only the first. Drinking followed, and then womanising. Even though one of them is really on the edge of the law... so long as she doesn't buy it, it's pretty much fine.

Tohru would have learned one very important thing: trying to return something to Kotone when she didn't want it was more difficult than she expected. The money was pressed into Kotone's hand... but it sure didn't stay there. When she got back to her previous location, it might become apparent that the itch on her neck was because something was lodged there... and Kotone herself? Nowhere to be seen.

You could disagree with the Yakuza's principles all you wanted, but she refused to let a schoolgirl try and get by with absolutely nothing. Her father didn't really need any more employees, after all.

So, as she went to get lunch, the tall girl wondered if there was a way to help without just giving the cash away...
