Being truly on my own is a bit of a weird feeling. It's never really happened.

Let it never be said that sometimes extreme brevity isn't the most appropriate post, though. Everything is a tool.

  • Name: Yamakawa Momoko
  • Age: 16
  • Gender: Female
  • Appearance: The joint shortest of the club members, but she makes up for it in other ways.
  • Personality: Momoko is a shy, quiet girl, the type who stays right out of the limelight and spends class breaks reading. She's not even the best at answering questions if asked directly outside of her family...
All of which goes to show that you shouldn't judge a book by its cover. Momoko has an incredibly lewd imagination, considers her an ability a great way to flip skirts without getting undue attention, and smuggles porn magazines into school amongst more reasonable fare. She's also a pretty big fan of science fiction and romance stories, rather than reading only nonfiction.
  • Brief Backstory: Momoko's family claims to be a long line of psychics, sadly degraded in modern times to little more than parlour tricks. In the past walls would crumble before them, people's innermost secrets would be laid bare, and the history of any item would be apparent with a simple touch--or that's the claim. Her parents aren't any better than Momoko herself, and she doesn't see why she should sit down and practice to get better at something useless.
She's gotten through school well enough, remaining at the top of her class, but not really making friends. Her initial plan would have been to join the literature club if any upon joining high school--but the poster got her attention first. Of course, it wasn't like she expected, but it's the first opportunity she's had to make friends in a long time...
And the other members are nice to look at, so there's that.
  • Skills: Top of her class, Momoko has excellent academic performance--indeed, if she pushes for it, competing nationally is quite within her talents. She doesn't excel so much in other regards--if following a recipe exactly, there's no doubt it will turn out fine, but she can't improvise to save her life. She's also absolutely awful at PE--Momoko has always been bad at it, but after a certain point it just got harder and harder...
  • Abilities: Momoko is a psychic. Specifically, she displays basic telekinetic talent. If it's close enough for her to make it put in detail and no heavier than a large book, then she can move it more or less how she wishes. This comes in particularly helpful for turning pages in a book without needing the book to actually be in her hands... or flipping skirts.
Or stirring whilst cooking without getting up. It's not super strong, but it's useful.
  • Name: Minami Hotaru
  • Age: 15
  • Gender: Female
  • Appearance: She's quite pleased by the recent growth spurt. It's left her quite a bit larger than her friend.
  • Personality: Hotaru seems to not take anything quite seriously enough, waving off trouble with a smile... even if you shouldn't really be doing that with incomplete homework or failed tests. She seems to only jump at three things: lazing around, eating something good, and helping people in trouble. She's also incredibly devoted to her friends... though for the most part, the change in school means this is currently her roommate. The only sign that Hotaru's not completely forgotten how she lost her arm seems to be fairly regular bad dreams.
  • Skills: None. Well, none that would really stand out... if anything, Hotaru's lack of skills is more notable. She isn't super athletic, her cooking skill amounts to being able to follow the instructions on instant food, and her schoolwork... well, suffice to say that "passing" is about all that she's really got a chance of aiming for. If she has any skill, it's in maintaining her attitude despite whatever happens to be going on.
  • Brief Backstory: Hotaru lived a fairly normal life up until her last year of elementary school--she was no better a student at the time, but it hadn't really started to matter. Then, of course, the Phase happened. It isn't something that Hotaru can really remember, only the monster itself, her parents getting in its way just long enough for someone to get there--but not long enough to stop it from getting to her, the feeling of an arm crystallising--and then it was gone.
When she got back to school, a new student had transferred in, seemingly having trouble with making friends--and Hotaru made it her goal to befriend the girl. After inviting her over to her grandparents regularly for most of junior high, especially after learning what else they had in common, she's ended up as that girl's roommate now.
Of course, Hotaru has no idea about RELICs, or her own compatibility...

I feel like I've been picked solely for liking Symphogear too much, but whatever. D:
I'm in.
Sir Tyaethe Radistirin

"You're not fighting like that," she stated, looking at the injury. Not life-threatening, if she could get him to somebody else it would be fine to go off after that laser, wouldn't it? With a magic user that strong, it might even be needed for her to do it right now... but if it wasn't treated in time, there was no guarantee it would heal right. As much as her sword hand itched to get back into the battle, there was a healer now. She couldn't leave Avlin here if that was the case.

Tyaethe's bedside manner would definitely leave something to be desired: picking the knight up, ignoring any complaints, and slinging him over a shoulder like a sack of potatoes. On the positive side, this meant her shield was covering him from any further damage--though lying face-down on a back soaked in troll blood would be a horrifying experience.

The path back to the ridge was easy, Tyaethe barely slowed by her cargo, and so immediately after Tiral's speech, it would be put to the test... a knight soaked in the blood of foes, depositing an actually-wounded knight before Lyrie.

"Leg."
1) If it's not a race in the OP, it probably doesn't exist.

2) Try making a new character and not rehashing old archetypes to force into a setting they don't fit.
How about... looking at the accepted characters?

Really, what was that idiot doing now? Backing up to the soldiers... like that would matter. If they got involved it would be absolutely trivial to remove them nonlethally; she could fight through a group like this even without enhanced strength. He had to have seen how easily they could be disarmed. Except for attacking the soldiers, which would just repeat the earlier fight with less mercy.

Being recorded as fictional wasn't entirely new to her, at least--and with other worlds coming into it as already made obvious... well, maybe this could be used to their advantage: "Do any of you know about someone called Menomaru?"

He wasn't a useful source of information himself.

"Eh? But how would we get something to eat without any money to pay for it?" the teenaged girl asked, getting quite aware that even knowing where she was would be of little use when she hadn't been expecting to be caught outside. And she really needed something to eat... being woken up early was one thing, but being woken up early with no promise of breakfast...
I mean, fundamentally it might help to pick somebody that has ever said a word so that we know what they're like aside from "unceasingly power hungry". xD
