• Appearance: Golden.
• Personality: A rowdy and insolent man, Kintoki unreasonably takes after the time and place of his summoning and dresses as a gaudy delinquent. A man that loves fighting, it would be easy to think he's just a violent barbarian hero, but he's an extremely heroic figure: opposing all things evil, adoring children, and bearing no ill will towards other enemies. Still, that doesn't mean that Kintoki is an incredibly complicated person: he adores strong things, flashy things, and especially anything golden. Weak to love.
  Fatally incompatible with an evil Master, but otherwise super easy to get along with, especially when one treats him as an equal. This is useful, because the Master's going to have to do all the hard thinking for them.

However, the intellect of the animals is no better than ever, so conveying complex or nuanced thoughts is still impossible. Despite this, and perhaps because of Kintoki's own mentality, they still arrive at a mutual understanding.
  • Divinity: D. The child of Raijin in the form of a thunderclap (or perhaps a dragon), which would normally result in high Divinity, and a mountain witch, which instead reduces it. Although low, it can sometimes activate as resistance towards the attacks of heroes descended from a thunder deity.
  • Monstrous Strength: A+. The child of Raijin as a dragon and a cannibal mountain witch, Kintoki possesses this skill at a very high rank despite not being a monster himself. Not only can it be activated with an extremely long duration, it allows for his already boosted strength to exceed human limitations and compete with monsters directly.
  • Natural Body: A. The possession of a perfect body since birth. Strength is always treated as rank-up and, no matter the amount of exercise or calorific consumption, his muscles will remain as brawny as ever and he won't put on any further weight. Could perhaps be considered cheating for sports competitions and insufficiently ridiculous for bodybuilding.

  • Effects: An immensely heavy axe, unwieldable without Kintoki's level of strength, that contains the power of the thunder god. Conversely, it's still a giant, armoured Noble Phantasm and every bit as dangerous as a mecha could be expected to be. Probably not its true name.

• Personality: Although she appears to be a cute little girl, Beni-Enma is actually a swordsman with the bearing of a government official. She will earnestly respond to anyone whilst still being respectful no matter who they are, even if she doesn't necessarily approve of their lifestyle. Despite acting like a fair judge, she's a loyal sparrow who will cherish all favours granted to her, and surprisingly introverted despite her activeness.

No matter the enemy it still retains its nature as a gift.
  • Star Basket (Small): EX. The second technique of Enjaku Sewing: the Wicker Basket of Gratitude. The same as the blessing of the sparrow that was awarded to the old man, its contents bring good fortune to those who it is given to. An incredibly strong gift, almost too good to be true... and yet it still has some benefit to the enemy, despite the leverage it should give to Beni-Enma's allies; it's still prepared as a gift for all.
  • Ventriloquism: EX. A skill no more and no less than what it says, trained extensively even to be able to talk with her tongue cut. Such extensive experience makes Beni-Enma exceptional at working around limitations that would be imposed upon her.

The box is taken to a banquet hall where sparrows take on the appearance of the Ten Kings of Hell wait to make judgement: a single sword stroke from Beni-Enma. Incredibly dangerous to those of Chaotic or Evil alignments, if they can be pulled within the box, yet to those who pass judgement only a hazard through its nature as a cut.

  • Effects: The zeroth technique of Enjaku Sewing. At its heart, it is simply the smallest, deepest iai strike: as the enemy opens their mouth to take a breath, Beni-Enma transforms into her original sparrow size and closes in with imperceptible speed, slicing out their tongue.
    However, battles are not so simple that this can be performed and as such she instead prefaces it with six spinning slashes, only closing in for the final blow when they open their mouth to scream. Aside from the obvious effect, it has the benefit of restricting the opponent's skills temporarily.
    They certainly won't be lying afterwards.

• Personality: Relaxed and easy-going to an almost strange degree, Europa can be found in three general moods: smiling happily, bubbly and talkative, or half asleep. Divine beasts, monsters, gods... no matter what appears in front of her, she won't blink and will keep smiling away.
  Her attitude towards her Master, or indeed nearly everyone, is that of a doting grandmother. Particularly enthusiastic about cooking for children.

  • Divinity: C. Deified after death, a girl riding a white bull--Tauros in the zodiac. According to some genealogies, Europa is descended from nymphs.

Europa's own general cluelessness is a form of protection of itself: when presented with uncertainty over whether she should be attacked or alternative targets, then Europa will avoid being targeted. The same reason that, unlike most of other Zeus's affairs, Europa escaped retribution from Hera.
  • White Bull of the Chief God: C. The Zeus that Europa had the fortune to meet, a Divine Beast of a White Bull with a powerful charm ability--the same Tauros as the zodiac. Not a skill that Europa possesses herself, instead applying to the bull that she rides. Those who lay eyes upon it can be drawn in by its charm effect.

Through conflation with the Colossus of Rhodes, it has gained the ability to become a giant rather than simply a mechanical monster. Its sole purpose is Europa's protection and, when present, will automatically detect and eliminate any threats.
    Its arms and legs can become like molten lava, vaporising most targets immediately, and Talos is nearly impervious to direct damage from anything but the gods. However, despite being a superweapon constructed by Hephaestus, its ankles are still a weak point that can cause the divine ichor that provides its functionality to drain.

Another gift intended to protect Europa, it guards her as she rides upon its back, and can travel essentially anywhere aside from atop the ocean. If it's true name is released, the bull could valiantly charge through entire armies.

• Personality: Haughty and self-confident, Nobunaga is soft to those she likes (but no less egotistical), indifferent to people of no interest or use to her, and cold and ruthless to anyone she hates or that happens to get in the way. Ultimately a conflicting person to be around due to these extremes, being prone to thoroughly destroying opposition and quashing dissent... but also not minding too much about her eventual defeat. Fond of new ideas and innovation, yet particularly into one noh play and a fan of tea ceremony.

• Personal Skills:
  • Charisma: B-. Sufficient to lead a kingdom, but uneven in its effect. In her own lifetime, Nobunaga was famously odd and rude and this can only be expected.
  • Demon King: A. A skill similar to Innocent Monster but due to Nobunaga's embracing of the title, she still has control over its effects. Mostly this would be restricted to visual changes, as she's already demonic enough in attitude. If nothing else, it seems to reflexively lead to coloured hair and fire when pushing herself.
  • Strategy: B. The ability to perceive the large scale of things, such as diplomacy and logistics, and ensure victory before the battle has even begun. Even though the Battle of Okehazama turned strategic defeat into a tactical victory, it was an unusual fluke on her part.
  • Unifying the Nation by Force: A. A unique skill imposing the new upon the old, it grants a boost to Nobunaga's parameters and skills when fighting against opponents with high Divinity or mystery, or staunch guardians of tradition. On the flip side, she actually finds herself weakened against modern Servants. Without other considerations, it likely changes nothing against her contemporaries.

• Appearance: She doesn't seem too concerning, at least initially.
• Personality: An innocent girl who never forgets to pray and give thanks for her blessings, who tries to be kind to everyone she meets. Despite the Puritan belief in honourable poverty, Abigail is a curious and intelligent girl, as befits her age. Loves pancakes.
  She finds her abilities as the Witch of Salem repugnant and yet, as he embraces them, can't help but enjoy getting to act like a bad girl. Even then, her wish for the Holy Grail remains one of world peace, rather than something more selfish.

• Personal Skills:
  • Divinity: B. The "Gate" for a higher-order existence beyond human comprehension. Even only tinged with its power, Abigail exhibits a strong divinity. Yet as compensation, nothing can remove the Insanity that its influence brings.
  • Faithful Prayer: C. The Puritan belief in poverty and prayer. A skill that in excess would only exacerbate the effect of Abigail's other skills but that prevents their undesired activation on a personal one.
  • Insanity: B. Anxiety and fear; heterogeneous thinking that exerts a pressure on the mentality of those in her surroundings. Largely only a potential for Abigail herself, although it presents an unusual defence against mental interference by provoking a much more dangerous response.
  • Mass Hysteria: B. The influence of the evil god Abigail hosts can all too quickly erode the common sense of those around her and start a moral panic, driving people to do desperate and immoral things in the name of good. Though no matter how much it influences her surroundings, everything needs a trigger.
  • Witch Trials: A+. The accused draws out, without any intention on their part, suspicion and jealousy, starting a chaing of misfortune that their sincere defence will only exacerbate rather than curb. If she were to accuse herself, Abigail wouldn't be exempt from the effects.

As the Key of this gate, the roots are restricted to only the target that Abigail designates--their unrestrained threat is a phenomenon with no limits that could be considered Anti-World.
    As the world it reveals is as inhospitable to any human defences, they provide no defence against it.

Master

• Name: Evelyn Fehrenbach
• Age: 22
• Gender: Female
• Appearance: Evelyn is the one on the right.
• Personality: Despite everything, Evelyn is a pretty relaxed sort, hard to rile up and happy to take things as they come. She normally has the air and motivation of a slacker doing the minimum to get by when it doesn't catch her interest. The exception to this lies in her eyes and people asking about it; even after a few years she's very fed up with the constant questions--especially as an honest answer is effectively impossible. This lack of active interest in the things around her also leads to being quite dense to the motivations of others.
• Skills: Out of necessity, Evelyn has gotten adept at moving around whilst blindfolded, though the exact degree to which she manages this suggests something beyond normal human senses at work. Beyond that, her skillset is rather unremarkable; her academic abilities are above average and her mathematical talents are exceptional, but athleticism and an adeptness at dodging things thrown her way are rather unremarkable.
• Abilities: Mystic Eyes sometimes straddle the line between magecraft and psychic abilities. This is quite apparent with Evelyn, who possesses magic circuits that are above average in their own regard but only displays abilities consistent with her inborn talents: the Mystic Eyes of Displacement. These eyes can determine the exact velocity of anything within her field of view and from moment to moment determine exactly where it will end up, operating much faster than the human visual field and un-augmented reactions can possibly keep up with. Yet beyond that, they allow for the alteration of this value, imparting a new direction or speed or both to whatever Evelyn focuses on, limited by both her circuits and the resilience of her own mind on top of the resistance of the target to such alteration. Even magecraft that would normally be invisible can be seen through such a view and potentially redirected, so long as it operates closer to human perception than, say, the speed of light.
  However, this ability is something that Evelyn would take almost any step to be rid of: despite how powerful it is, she is completely unable to deactivate it and only blocking her sight entirely removes the strain that its activity causes. If she were to leave it active at all times, it would be hard to tell whether she would go mad first or destroy herself somehow.
  This heritage seems to have some impact on her awareness of her surroundings. Even when she can't see what's going on, Evelyn unconsciously avoids walking into stationary parts of the scenery and avoids unintentional collisions. Aside from that, her sole ability as a magus is the ability to use reinforcement on herself.
• Brief Backstory: On one side of her family, Evelyn descends from a line of psychics. On the other, an almost-extinct line of magi who had given up more than a generation before her birth. For much of her life, this was hardly a problem as she didn't know except in the vaguest of terms and had no idea of how the dual heritages had interacted. This was until an unfortunate near-miss with a speeding car--near, only because of her last-minute desperation and the otherwise impossible last-second turn.
  There are few things that are as strangely disruptive to your life as being unable to open your eyes without being aware of exactly how everything is moving and where it will be, faster than you can even keep up with, constantly. Her family could provide some answers but all their real knowledge was lost--her grandfather confirming the existence of magecraft hardly helped much. Her salvation? That her childhood friend, someone vaguely known as a distant cousin, was from a different family--not a powerful or influential one, but a magus nonetheless. Elisabeth was able to recognise Evelyn's eyes for what they broadly were and serve as a tutor for the most rudimentary application of reinforcement, enough that Evelyn could keep up with her vision sometimes.
  But for stopping it? There was no way that some no-name magus would be able to interfere with eyes like this, and the Mage's Association was something that Elisabeth had impressed she had to stay as far away from as possible for her own good. At best she could keep practising the little she knew and try to keep it active as long as possible or try to find an off switch of some sort. That, or go blind.
  Having a bunch of weird red symbols appear on your body when already under stress normally wouldn't help but--after a month of wondering what the hell that could mean, and Evelyn overruling her friend's caution to actually try to get answers out of other magi, they actually seemed to be a sign of something hopeful. If she could win this war, then Evelyn could solve her problem. Of course, that meant finding out where this was going to happen... and then learning enough Japanese to at least be able to speak where she was going.
  Not that Evelyn is going alone; she's far too naive about the nature of magi for Elisabeth to let her out of sight--having a second, normal, pair of eyes is the excuse there, but really it's just an attempt to try and keep her alive a bit more.

• Skills: Elisabeth is in shape and enjoys running, which has proven useful with her tendency to occasionally get into fights that she can't back herself up in. In daily life, that number is quite small--even if she weren't remarkably used to such things, there's always a little cheating on the side that your random bystander can't keep up with--but it seems like the sort of thing that's going to get a lot more work in a magic-heavy war. She's also a pretty good cook, though she finds that one a bit embarassing.

She isn't someone of such specialised talent as to have learned magecraft for offensive purposes, nor even learned something specialised just in case, and her skill with the like of Bounded Fields rises to the low mark of "enough to keep out of the way". Her abilities promise nothing but also give no indication of a family that will soon drop off the face of the Earth.
  Of course, what she actually prefers to do with all of this is cheat in bar fights. Or deal with people making annoying advances.
• Brief Backstory: Even when they were children, Elisabeth knew about Evelyn's family--after all, hers hadn't lost its magical potential, and if there was one thing that was drilled into her head it was lineage. Using them as an example of failure did nothing to dissuade the contrarian girl and may have been the initial push she needed to try and make friends. It's a relationship she's treasured and clung to, even with her family insisting that she should focus on their priorities and stop being such an uncooperative maverick.
  Evelyn's eyes, from Elisabeth's perspective, are both the best and worst thing to ever happen to her. On the one hand, all the pressure to stop associating with such an irrelevant girl dropped away, and she had an actual excuse to spend more time with her and try to get as close to Evelyn as possible. On the other... well, eyes like that won't attract positive attention and she doesn't want her closest friend to have such a timebomb in her head forever.
  The Grail War terrifies her far more than Evelyn. Elisabeth has a much better idea of how violent and brutal magi can be and how much is at risk for such a small chance of a reward. But she's determined that however it turns out, she will make sure Evelyn can survive this, even if she doesn't.

Fate/illuminated histoire: A Narrative-Driven Holy Grail War RP

Master

• Name: Evelyn Fehrenbach
• Age: 22
• Gender: Female
• Appearance: Evelyn is the one on the right.
• Personality: Despite everything, Evelyn is a pretty relaxed sort, hard to rile up and happy to take things as they come. She normally has the air and motivation of a slacker doing the minimum to get by when it doesn't catch her interest. The exception to this lies in her eyes and people asking about it; even after a few years she's very fed up with the constant questions--especially as an honest answer is effectively impossible. This lack of active interest in the things around her also leads to being quite dense to the motivations of others.
• Skills: Out of necessity, Evelyn has gotten adept at moving around whilst blindfolded, though the exact degree to which she manages this suggests something beyond normal human senses at work. Beyond that, her skillset is rather unremarkable; her academic abilities are above average and her mathematical talents are exceptional, but athleticism and an adeptness at dodging things thrown her way are rather unremarkable.
• Abilities: Mystic Eyes sometimes straddle the line between magecraft and psychic abilities. This is quite apparent with Evelyn, who possesses magic circuits that are above average in their own regard but only displays abilities consistent with her inborn talents: the Mystic Eyes of Displacement. These eyes can determine the exact velocity of anything within her field of view and from moment to moment determine exactly where it will end up, operating much faster than the human visual field and un-augmented reactions can possibly keep up with. Yet beyond that, they allow for the alteration of this value, imparting a new direction or speed or both to whatever Evelyn focuses on, limited by both her circuits and the resilience of her own mind on top of the resistance of the target to such alteration. Even magecraft that would normally be invisible can be seen through such a view and potentially redirected, so long as it operates closer to human perception than, say, the speed of light.
  However, this ability is something that Evelyn would take almost any step to be rid of: despite how powerful it is, she is completely unable to deactivate it and only blocking her sight entirely removes the strain that its activity causes. If she were to leave it active at all times, it would be hard to tell whether she would go mad first or destroy herself somehow.
  This heritage seems to have some impact on her awareness of her surroundings. Even when she can't see what's going on, Evelyn unconsciously avoids walking into stationary parts of the scenery and avoids unintentional collisions. Aside from that, her sole ability as a magus is the ability to use reinforcement on herself.
• Brief Backstory: On one side of her family, Evelyn descends from a line of psychics. On the other, an almost-extinct line of magi who had given up more than a generation before her birth. For much of her life, this was hardly a problem as she didn't know except in the vaguest of terms and had no idea of how the dual heritages had interacted. This was until an unfortunate near-miss with a speeding car--near, only because of her last-minute desperation and the otherwise impossible last-second turn.
  There are few things that are as strangely disruptive to your life as being unable to open your eyes without being aware of exactly how everything is moving and where it will be, faster than you can even keep up with, constantly. Her family could provide some answers but all their real knowledge was lost--her grandfather confirming the existence of magecraft hardly helped much. Her salvation? That her childhood friend, someone vaguely known as a distant cousin, was from a different family--not a powerful or influential one, but a magus nonetheless. Elisabeth was able to recognise Evelyn's eyes for what they broadly were and serve as a tutor for the most rudimentary application of reinforcement, enough that Evelyn could keep up with her vision sometimes.
  But for stopping it? There was no way that some no-name magus would be able to interfere with eyes like this, and the Mage's Association was something that Elisabeth had impressed she had to stay as far away from as possible for her own good. At best she could keep practising the little she knew and try to keep it active as long as possible or try to find an off switch of some sort. That, or go blind.
  Having a bunch of weird red symbols appear on your body when already under stress normally wouldn't help but--after a month of wondering what the hell that could mean, and Evelyn overruling her friend's caution to actually try to get answers out of other magi, they actually seemed to be a sign of something hopeful. If she could win this war, then Evelyn could solve her problem. Of course, that meant finding out where this was going to happen... and then learning enough Japanese to at least be able to speak where she was going.
  Not that Evelyn is going alone; she's far too naive about the nature of magi for Elisabeth to let her out of sight--having a second, normal, pair of eyes is the excuse there, but really it's just an attempt to try and keep her alive a bit more.
