There it is, a juicy squelch sucking sound from the Denny's dumpster. The neighborhood was alerted
I hope you're all enjoying the story so far. Any comments/suggestions?

So far so good. Might have a few later on :)
I just saved him from telling anyone right now lol.
Eliezer sighed in frustration when Allister repeated the reason he had only just mentioned that he would no longer accept. "Lady Omrea is currently under the protection of her companions, Allister. As for myself, what would be the point of keeping an eye on me if I were to lose my right to the throne? If that were to be the case, then I might as well be dead."

He did note that what he had just said might have sounded like his sentiments about the throne of Dainia were similar to Raven's about his love. This was not the case. If it was no longer his purpose to rule Dainia, he could always find another to live for. However, this was not about him, but his people, and the only way to prevent Mathazar from having the right to Dainia was for him to keep it. He decided that he should clarify this, and he took a glance at Raven before continuing to address Allister.

"This has nothing to do with my self-worth, or what I have to live for, it has to do with the fates of thousands. If I don't inherit the throne, my brother will. Pray be cautious when making these decisions, Allister, this is all I ask."

When Raven started to question the butler about her family, Eliezer then remembered his first conversation about her with Allister, and turned back to Raven. "I am familiar with Lunarian aesthetics. I was therefore aware that you have descended from a noble house of Lunar after you had shown me that heirloom you bear. I recall Allister declining to tell me about your family when I first inquired about them. Perhaps now is the time for him to do so."

At that moment, there came a knock on the door followed by a voice on the other side. "Your Highness, Sir Hildebrand, Dame Gertrude Monday bringing a matter of great importance to your attention."

"I shall have to ask that you return at a later time, Dame Gertrude," Eliezer called through the door.

"Forgive me, Your Highness, but this is urgent. The rest of the royal family has already been alerted," came the reply.

Eliezer and Hildebrand shared a quick glance, and the former opened the door, after which the other knight immediately started to speak. "Your Highness, our guards have witnessed the death of an individual just East of Dainia Palace. Those responsible fled the moment they saw our guards, but what is strange is that this was found on the dead body."

Gertrude held out a dagger with the Lunarian crest on it.

Hildebrand was stunned. "A Lunarian assassin was killed by an unknown party near the palace? This is strange indeed."

"Guards have been sent to investigate the area. In the meantime, His Highness and Sir Hildebrand have been summoned for an emergency meeting regarding the meaning of this occurrence and to discuss the steps to be taken," Gertrude continued.

"Very well, thank you, Dame Gertrude," Eliezer responded, before the female knight went on her way.

Before he and Hildebrand walked out, the prince turned to his butler with a few more words. "If this unidentified group does not kill off the rest of the assassins you have released, you can be certain that our guards shall do their best to do so by order of my family."
Hmm, should I save Allister?

Angel glanced awkwardly between the driver and second student who had spoken while waiting for a response from the former. At that point, he would not have even been surprised if there had been no response at all. There eventually was one, though, and did the older man take his time with it, only getting the same, one-word answer out when they had reached their destination. When the driver gestured to the structure at the top of the hill ahead, Angel assumed that he and his companions were to take a walk to it. He would have liked to ask who or what they were to expect upon reaching it, but from the attempts of the two other boys on board, he figured that it would probably not be as productive as he would like it to be.

Duffel bag over one shoulder, he sluggishly stood and alighted from the vehicle. The cold immediately hit him as he stepped out into the open, and his involuntary shivering was visible. He exhaled into his cupped hands before rubbing them together to alleviate the effects of the chilly air. An unexpected wave of warmth then crept up behind him, and he let out an almost-inaudible sigh of relief before turning to see two of the girls who had also been on the bus. One of them was... glowing? And he assumed that the heat was radiating from her. He had noticed the unusual colors of her eyes and skin, figuring that it was a cosmetic mutation resulting from the Mist. She admittedly looked pretty cool, like she had stepped right out of a comic book. Angel had a subtle one himself, remembering how his eyes were dark brown before his powers first manifested. However, anyone who had not known him prior to the incident would probably think that he had his bright green irises all his life.

Suddenly realizing that he might have been looking for slightly too long, he then gave the girls a short, awkward nod before turning back around. He then picked his pace up and trudged on forward up the hill, partly from embarrassment, but mostly because he was eager to get indoors and away from the cold.
