In my initial post, I imagined the one in the image, however I also figured there was a small "shack" next to it that was sort of housing for the miners who used to work the mine years ago. Perhaps it had several bunks for sleeping, etc.

So is Brook able to shapeshift into any animal, or animals that are closer to his size/weight?
Is this an at-will power, something that happens as a defense mechanism, or randomly? I know for my character (Vincent), his has been almost exclusively defensive, but as the story progresses, he may or may not learn how to freely trigger it. But that remains to be seen.
So are both you and @Stitches character travelling together?

The content is fine, but please do me and my OCD a favor and separate the dialogue between characters so it's a bit easier to digest. Walls of text hurt my ass :/

Overall, well done :) I think like mostly everyone's powers they have a the potential for being OP'd, but so far we've managed to keep them reasonable, and I suspect it wouldn't be a problem with your character's telepathy. The note writing is a nice touch too. Reminds me of an old movie called Memento.
Considering her gang-relations and notoriety, why not have her working as a "gopher" for one of the families in Noble's? Maybe she had affiliations with them in the past and in order for her to escape the city, she sought them out and in exchange for their hospitality, was volunteered to help them in whatever manner they needed. Unless, of course, you already had something planned out with @AcerRo...
