It’s none of my business what people say of me and think of me. I am what I am and I do what I do. I expect nothing and accept everything. And it makes life so much easier.

“There is no such thing as a new idea. It is impossible. We simply take a lot of old ideas and put them into a sort of mental kaleidoscope. We give them a turn and they make new and curious combinations. We keep on turning and making new combinations indefinitely; but they are the same old pieces of colored glass that have been in use through all the ages.”

Figured I'd post again since no one else did :/

And @Lucidnonsense, that character concept sounds...interesting. Why not give it a whirl? :)
She couldn’t remember the last time her legs had carried her so quickly through the dense jungle, and yet fear of one’s life had an amazing ability to push the boundaries of the physique, human or otherwise. S’varkas almost felt as though she could glide along the surface like a hawk with it’s wings spread strong and wide. Thankfully, however, it wasn’t necessary since the underground entryway she so desperately searched for was within range and a brief smile crossed her lips. As much as she hesitated to look back, her curiosity finally won out as she turned her head for a moment to glance behind and saw only the massive conflagration as it continued to swallow up vegetation. No sign of the iron golem.

“Son of a-”

Just as she was about to return attention to the path ahead, her bare foot caught the edge of a raised root, causing her to stumble, roll, and slide to a stop within a meter of the metal hatch leading down to safety. S’varkas, ignoring the pain on her foot and leg, quickly shuffled and crawled over toward the magically sealed door that lay parallel with the ground, and recited the incantation to unlock the hatch. Her words first came out in a rushed and garbled sequence had no effect, and on the second try, finally succeeded as the hatch raised up and the girl slipped into the depths of the storage bunker.
Well you know S'varkas is hauling ass in the other direction...so yeah.

And I imagine the two Vampires aren't going to stick around with "The Knight" as he examines and takes notes ;)
Fire is never a good thing O.o
The sudden blast lit up the night sky brighter than she’d ever seen, causing her to shield her eyes from the piercing sting of the light.

“Wha..?” She half-exclaimed, watching as what appeared to be a wave of fire ravaged the jungle further up ahead and the heat -even from that distance- could be felt on her bare skin.

“Shit!”

S’varkas stumbled down the tree, doing her best not to fall the entire way, but managed to gain a few seconds by catching the hanging vines and swinging to a more stable branch. She quickly hit the ground running and yelled out to the guardian machine.

Ter’shulos! Move dammit, now!”

The golem, acknowledging the initial ancient command word, turned itself to face the direction of her master, and with it’s mighty legs pumping pistons and spinning gears, lumbered once again through the thick jungle at a speed no faster that a fast walk. She didn’t dare to look back, as it would most likely cause a fear far worse than she was feeling, but she also worried about the iron machine. It wasn’t built for speed or agility, but strength and resilience. It’s metal makeup combined with the infused magical properties, should protect it from high heat, but S’varkas didn’t know what sort of evil the fire was birthed from, and it may well swallow up everything in it’s path.

The girl looked ahead at the treeline to get her bearings, and realized that one of the underground storage facilities was close by, as long as she could make it to the hatch in time...
“Nate, have I told you recently that I hate you?”

Vin couldn’t help but smirk at the offhanded comment, which made him feel less upset by the fact that Eli was becoming more of a pain in the ass than Nate. He couldn’t help but feel responsible -slightly- for Abigail & Brooks sudden departure, as though he could have done more to convince them to stay, but maybe they didn’t belong. Did any of the group really belong here? Vin looked over at Christy, who kept her dog Jack close by her side at all times, although he couldn’t blame her. Not out in this part of the country where any protection was better than nothing. Although for the short time that he’d held the pistol dropped by Brooks earlier, he didn’t feel all that much safer. But he was never much for guns, especially guns held by psychopaths.

His attention immediately snapped to Jennifer’s voice calling out to him and Nate from the mine’s entrance. There she was. Disheveled expression, frazzled hair, dirt and soot covered clothing, and yet still managed to look as good as the day he’d met her. Perhaps not the same floral and coconut scent he’d become accustomed to, but none of the group had properly bathed in a few days and Jennifer most likely smelled the least repulsive. Either way, he was happy to see her face, and that fact that she was unharmed.

“Well hey, what’s up sunshine?”

He quickly mocked a debonair expression, if for no other reason than to break up the weird and dark shit that had transpired only moments ago. But her countenance seemed to take on a grim tone as she gazed at Vin for what had felt like an eternity to him. His own smile seemed to fade as well, returning her stare with a slight tilt of his head and arch of an eyebrow as though he were mentally asking the question: What the hell is wrong with you?

Her question then brought him back to his current mindset, shaking off the weird feeling he got from her.

“Eh…yeah, we’re fine out here, I think. Nate? Are we fine?”
In that case, I'll have a post shortly.
Hopefully "soon" will be sooner than later.

Also, I suppose if it comes down to it, we can gracefully exit Eric for the time being, which will currently leave us with Vin, Nate, Jennifer, Eli, and...Christy(?)
@Rawk ~feels like she just pissed off a British Nanny~ @.@ I think you're taking Shaken, not stirred to a whole new level...

*eh em* Well yes. I was simply...caught in a nostalgic moment. Won't happen again...

Unless of course another episode of "LARP Flashback" comes into view. >.>
I personally got into roleplay through Cosplay which originally turned into LARP...

Welcome! Oh man, I have't been involved in LARP in ages...AGES I TELL YOU!

*shakes @Lady Amalthea viciously because she happens to be within range*

Where did your LARPing take place, Mr Barton? I think my most memorable was playing Werewolf: The Apocalypse (Circa mid-90s?) in the same hotel where a ComicCon was being held, and our troupe basically took over the whole building. Half-crazed, feral-looking characters running amuck! It was good times...
