It’s none of my business what people say of me and think of me. I am what I am and I do what I do. I expect nothing and accept everything. And it makes life so much easier.

“There is no such thing as a new idea. It is impossible. We simply take a lot of old ideas and put them into a sort of mental kaleidoscope. We give them a turn and they make new and curious combinations. We keep on turning and making new combinations indefinitely; but they are the same old pieces of colored glass that have been in use through all the ages.”

[ Planetfall | R207 Command Vehicle | Minutes before field deployment ]
[ Chief of Security Gavon TreVayne ]

With the main objective in the team’s cross hairs, and Eccleson at the helm of the military personnel, Gavon wrapped up his review of notes he'd finally had a chance to glance over while en route to the EM Zone, the Beast Command Vehicle slicing through the thick vegetation with ease as he signed off on several of the reports. He felt a bit more at ease having Deputy Haas in command of Ark Security as he proved enough times in the past to be reliable and thorough. Of course running through analytics, status reports, and daily duty rosters wasn't exactly a highlight of the Chief’s day, but it was good to know he had recourse. A final message chimed in, the long awaited note from Natalie that had been at least an hour delayed -like many of his messages- due to the electromagnetic interference of the planet, and whatever the hell the team was about to investigate. The corner of his lips curled to a slight grin as he read the note, never surprised what her twisted sense of humor would conjure up:

You still owe me a night out. So don’t die.

This was the first time in several years that he and his wife had been apart, spending most of their time working together to structure, or at times restructure, Ark Security and it's personnel. Some would say the process had been rushed due to time constraints, resources, or several other factors dealing with a need to vacate Earth as quickly and efficiently as possible. Gavon had to agree, the Agency wasn't perfect, and with the recent Devastator attack, a cyborg anomaly, and legal ramifications surfacing, there was still work to be done in order to adjust and refocus efforts to protect and serve the people.

He switched off the datapad and headed out to rally the civilian personnel who were assigned to field duty, plus one. It seemed Mackenzie Newton was more of an asset than expected, considering the number of robotic assistance needed during a single away mission, her expertise would be invaluable on and off the ship. He chose to ignore protocol that would have otherwise grounded the girl and had her confined to the Nyx until the team returned to the Vitae, but there was no point in holding back reliable resources, and the last thing the Chief wanted to do was deal with a potential “stowaway” situation once again. Fortunately, this one had legitimate credentials...

Up in the navigation section of the command vehicle, Captain Eccleson was finishing communication with her team, delegating assignments as needed for various squads to fan out within the vast collection of ominous-looking orbs. Gavon noticed the expression on the young Captain’s face, even as she did her best to hide the doubt.

“This’ll be a cake walk, Captain.” Gavon said as he stepped over to where Eccleson was standing, staring out at the orbs which was as unknown to them as the rest of the planet. “Whatever inhabited this area -and this planet for that matter- is most likely long dead and gone. At the very least, we may find a few scraps of civilization beyond these things.”

“I appreciate your sentiment, Chief” She cracked a slight grin. “But I don’t like the idea of not knowing what I’m throwing my men into. Everything from here on is essentially alien to us, and who knows what that might entail.”

“You can be sure no one likes to be surprised in our line of work, but as long as we’re smart about it and stick to recon & survey protocols, we should be fine.” He crossed his arms as best he could in the biosuit. “And besides, between foot soldiers and this tin can, I’m confident we have enough firepower to dispatch any forces that may be a threat.”

Eccleson stood silent for a moment, continuing to look past the trees and scan her eyes across the surface of the closest orb, following the etched lines that adorned it’s hard, metallic shell.

“I have no doubt you're right, Chief…” Her voice trailed off momentarily, until she turned and headed toward the main corridor. “Let’s get this over with.”

------------------------------------

Several squads were scattered about, canvassing as far as the projected radius in the mission briefing, a large enough area that should give fair warning if something unexpected did occur. With Captain Eccleson and her military detachment holding the perimeter, Chief TreVayne was responsible for the protection of the civilian personnel, assigning two Agents per three-man science teams as well as dispatching several small hovering recon droids to scout ahead of each team. The problem, however, was quite noticeable as interference from the electromagnetic fields tampered with solid video feedback, making the droids less-than-efficient. With so many parts now in motion, Gavon did his best to group up the civilian personnel with a pair of Sec Agents escorting the science teams, noting any possible conflicts as they arose:

:: M. Newton | Micheal Smith | Agent S. Edwards | Agent T. Gurrera ::

:: K. Anderson | Agent J. Tripp | Agent D. Lanis ::

Lieutenant Rorq volunteered to spearhead a small geological team in hopes of collecting topographical data, as well as mineral samples from nearby structures to study once returned to the Vitae. And, along with field medic Amara Locke and Sec Agent Phillips, Gavon accompanied the lead science personnel as they headed for the larger of the orbs nestled in a circle of thick trees and vines.
@A Tattooed Girl

So, how does the military presence treat the civilian population within the Asylum? Also, should I assume there is an "elitist" mentality amongst the wolves vs non-wolves? I just included that in my post since no doubt there would be a few megalomaniacs in the mix :)
“Eighth Street Diner” Czigani snorted as she looked up at the sign above the front entrance. “I wonder what genius came up with that novel name.”

Both women strolled into the quaint diner, being hit by the multitude of smells emanating from the kitchen, some good, some not so bad, but as both were hungry they didn’t care much. For mid-morning on a weekday, there were quite a few customers, mostly older couples in booths and a few stray fellows sitting up on the barstools up at the counter. Classic rock, circa 1970s, was playing in the background and two waitresses -one looking to the be in her early twenties and the other who could have worked there at the turn of the twentieth century- busily went back and forth from the dining area to the front counter with food and empty dishes. Czigani scanned the room, picking up on various conversations, some of which were nothing more than idle chit-chat as they waited for their meals.

“Seat ya’selves ladies.” The older woman’s voice carried boldly across the room. “I’ll be right with ya.”

The booth near the window seemed fine for them of both, as it gave them a pretty good vantage point to keep an eye on the small “Palm Reader” business a block up the road. The fact that it was part of a strip of stores facing the main road made it easier to keep track of anyone coming and going. A middle-aged dark skinned man sitting in the neighboring booth nursed a tall orange juice, and simply stared for a moment through his thick glasses at both women before turning his attention out the window.

“Hey Kel.” Czi paused for a moment, a slight smirk formed on her lips. She never thought she’d address her new friend with a nickname already, which caught her off guard. “Um, I really need to use the restroom so...please order me whatever you’re eating. Oh, and keep the coffee coming. ” She gave Kelly a wink before heading toward the restroom.

@Xandrya
why hasn't anyone else posted in the IC?

Could be a number of reasons, but most likely due to the holidays. But, since we are past all that and into a new year, things will normalize here again. It's the way of things :)

Besides, I just posted, so now you must feel the wrath of my...eh...posting.
Warm. Wet. Cold.

What the hell? Am I drowning? Seems fitting for someone like me considering it's doubtful I'll survive much longer around here. The food sucks, people pretend to be nice, and the whole place smells like some old lady’s attic after she died in it fifty years ago. But why am I drowning? Oh yeah I know. Isn't it the most horrible way to die? Knowing that you can't possible hold your breath for anymore than a minute -maybe two- before reflex takes over and you find yourself swallowing nothing but gallons of water. And then what? Everything hurts. Everything shuts down. And that “you're fucked” feeling comes just a split second too late.

Yep, this broken world doesn't need me when it has plenty of pussies hanging around willing to put their own pathetic lives on the line for a lost cause.

Wait. Is that a fish swimming up to me? Is it speaking to me? I see the little bubbles coming from it’s mouth.

Did you say something cute little fish?

“Yeah, quit your bitching and wake the fuck up!”

-------------------------------------------------------

The girls eyes shot open, wide and confused, as her blurred vision slowly subsided and the cold nose of her German Shepard poked her in the cheek followed by several quick warm and wet tongue lashes across her forehead and chin.

“Wha..? Ack! , Frodo stop.” She winced at the sticky dog drool running down her face while lifting herself up, realizing the pain on the back of her head was most likely a result of her falling out of bed again onto the hard floor. It was getting to the point that she may as well sleep on the floor considering it’s where she inevitably ended almost every morning since she showed up at the Twin Peaks Asylum. I fitting place for her. For everyone.

An abrupt knock came again, as it seems to each morning, causing Frodo’s ears to perk up and growl at the door. But Vic knew who it was, as it was always the same shit, different day around the place she called “home”.

A second knock came, followed by an immediate third until...

“Come in for fuck’s sake!” The girl exclaimed, feeling the bump on the back of her head. “I heard you the first time, numbnuts!”

Frodo continued to growl, backing away as the door slowly opened and the head of an older paled skin guy with a beard poked through, his dark eyes darting from the dog and then over to Vic.

“Why does your mutt constantly bark at me?”

“Because you’re an asshole and he doesn’t like assholes.” She said after a moment, pulling herself up off the floor finally and eliciting a smirk from the bearded man at the door.

“I see you’ve managed to find the floor again.” He said in a smug manner. “And, I like your underwear.”

Vic looked down and sighed, realizing she had only a shirt on that wasn’t quite long enough to cover her lavender PowerPuff Girls underwear. “Oh shut the fuck up Curtis, what is it you want?”

“You mean other than you naked and handcuffed to my-”

“Kill him Frodo” Her interruption was as nonchalant as she could make it, but enough for Frodo to lung at the door snarling and barking just before it closed with the man behind it.

“Fine Vic, be a bitch!” Curtis said in a muffled voice behind the door. “Just know you don’t belong here! Shit, your dog is more of a friend than you are!...”

Victoria knew the secrets that were kept behind the walls of the Asylum, secrets that were there to protect those who sought refuged within her walls from the horrors of the outside world. The infection spread like a wildfire, and those with the “gift” of the lycan, or the werewolf, were prized amongst the large number of people housed at Twin Peaks. Vic, however, did not have what the others had, at least not apparently. She could feel it, even her senses were better than a human’s, but there was no change, no transformation into a beast. She knew she didn’t belong, but the girl didn’t know where else to turn.
Please add a song, if you would ^-^ thanks

Done.

@Rawk "Theme Song" is missing, as well as Also Knowing, but if you have nothing to put in that section, you can leave it out of your CS xD but other than that, it's fantastic <3

Thanks. And yep, those two were omitted on purpose b/c I didn't need them :)

Serving up a fresh CS straight to @A Tattooed Girl

@A Tattooed Girl

Working on a CS and noticed the "wolf appearance" section that mentioned if you don't have a wolf then leave it blank. I may not want one right off the bat, as perhaps it just hasn't happened, and maybe through the course of the story it might. Or, would it make sense to have a character who may never actually change into a wolf, but shares many of the traits (not all, but some)?

Anyway, just some food for thought...
