That's perfectly understandable. Not exactly GM, but I think it might do to have a couple traits established, particularly if, no, since there seem to be at least two characters (Father John, teaching classes, and Carolyn, following information to Miskatonic) who may know of Emil. Doesn't need to be fleshed out, but perhaps what someone may notice from observing him? Thus, changes can be justified as simply not knowing him well, and it gives them an idea on how they should react to, say, seeing your character at the library. Is he a frequent patron and so it's normal? Or is he seen so infrequently that it's considered an unusual event?

As I said, I get it, though, especially since I can literally have a character change from time of sheet postage to time of first post due to execution.

Anyways, now that I'm back from my grandma's for Mother's Day - honestly, I'll post both of my concepts and will otherwise await approval until a better idea of the group is formed? If only so I don't feel so bad about ganking my last sheet for here.

Personality: Considering some attitudes to a female reporter and a black reporter, Amanda's learned how to move quietly and keep things hidden, physically and emotionally, from those she speaks to in order to avoid trouble. She can come across as unusually emotionless as a result to those meeting her for the first time. To her, anything interesting is worth following up on for a news story, even if she can't always explain how it happened, and she will follow it to the end of the earth if necessary.

Biographical writeup: Amanda Smith was born 1893 in Baltimore, MD, to a pair of lower-class parents. When her mother died of tuberculosis, she was expected to seek employment at the age of 10 - however, this was around the time pressure was put on factories that hired children, and she was turned down. The best she could do to help her father was beg on the street. During her time, though, she saw quite a few things that would have otherwise gone unnoticed. She had a knack for writing and was able to sell a few articles to local papers under the name 'A. Smith'. When she was old enough, she was hired by one of her publishers to work as a full-time journalist. She was able to begin relaxing then, reading and beginning to study writing and past news articles in an attempt to improve her own work. She's also taught herself how to operate a camera and has been trying to learn Chinese due to the number of Chinese workers in her city. At 25, she received a better offer and moved away from her hometown to Boston. However, the offer didn't quite pan out as well as she hoped, and she had used considerable funds to get to Boston. She's been working her way home since, in a way. Her most recent stop is in Arkham while following a potential bootlegger piece.

Personality: Jeremiah is the determined sort, feeling that there must be some greater underlying truth to the universe and that he must only push harder against reality to discover it. While he is much more hesitant to push this determination when others are in need of him, his own safety means little to him in the pursuit of knowledge. He is something of a bookworm, preferring older texts to more recently published works due to a belief that the sudden surge in 'science' has led people to ignoring what should be obvious patterns and truths.

Biographical writeup: Jeremiah Dupree (born as Emilia, before changing his name in his application to Cornell) was born the only child to a sickly mother and an uncaring father. When his mother died, his father, preferring to focus on work rather than the difficulties of child-raising, sent his child to an all-girl boarding school in New York. It was there, with no contact from his father and relatively isolated from the ones who should've been peers, that Jeremiah developed his fascination with philosophy and a desire to understand the universe as a whole. His second year led him to befriending a transfer student, Alice, and through her efforts expanding his social contacts. He never quite lost that obsession however, and used his father's wealth to pursue a bachelor's degree and doctorate. He missed his father's funeral entirely, and did not care much. His time at Cornell allowed him to travel with a professor of anthropology and discover the better hidden cultures of Africa and Europe, and he based his research at Hopkins on one group in Ireland. He even persuaded a professor and other graduate students to assist him in a venture back to observe an annual ritual - where he acquired a mask, notability in the field of research, and a fresh fear of birds. Upon receiving his doctorate, he decided to focus on more local cultures and, through rumors and ghost stories, came to Miskatonic University to teach and to study.
