I probably clocked in over a week of total play time on that world. But this forces me to start fresh and gives me something to do. I basically had everything in the game possible with the exception of two NPCs.

I would personally have some problems with stealing his characters. I prefer to lock down all characters used by someone after they leave in order to respect their participation. (Exceptions when necessary, such as Ma'at).
