The desire to join an RP instead of run one, but the lack of anything being advertised or open that fits my interests

Why are people posting 1x1 'looking for' threads in the main section, when there's a whole section for 1x1 RP's?

It'd be nice to be able to *play* an RP I'm interested in for once, rather than having to *run* one all the time. Of course, doesn't help that I'm picky about what I enjoy.

Hmmmmm... PM inviting me to an RP on Discord by a user who just joined the site and has no posts? Doesn't sound iffy at all, no sir.

Bio

I've been roleplaying in one form or another since the late '90's. I've played as many tabletop games as I have online ones, and the quality of both has varied wildly.
I have an active imagination, and I love immersive, descriptive roleplaying. My genres of choice are sci-fi, and modern-day (with a sci-fi twist). I like RP's that mix reality with fiction, and throw an unusual and exciting twist into an otherwise normal setting - something like Stargate SG-1 would be an example, or Battle: Los Angeles. An almost recognizable world, but with some sci-fi twists.
I'm a fan of military and action-based RP's that do this especially, and they are easily my favourite - though I rarely see any that appeal to me enough - all the military RP's are too 'plain', and anything else modern day is usually fantasy or fandom. Or *shudder* school RPs...

I have a lot of fandoms; Transformers, Macross, MLP: FiM, Fallout, Battletech, Ace Combat, and others to varying degrees. But I don't often join fandom RPs because the ones I'm into don't come up, or I am very picky about my RPs and their plots and feel.

I don't play in free, as I find the short posts and bad spelling and grammar infuriating. I like a lot of depth, story, setting and character to my RPs, so am usually found in Casual and sometimes Advanced. Though, usually running my own RPs.

I'm 43 years old, and live in the UK, so I may not be on all the time.
I also like playing non-human characters, especially anthro ones, robots or synthetics, or some hybrid of both.

Outside of my RP tastes and hobby; I read a lot of books, play wargames and TTRPGs, make model aircraft and vehicles, and am also a brony and furry. I have been running a large local furmeet group for the last 10 years and have been involved in running a very successful UK MLP convention.

That is a handsome man, and I'm not even that into dudes. Santi is approved.

Well, Lukas Moss is complete.

And Lukas Moss is approved!

Please feel free to post your characters in the characters tab <3

Ah, sad that all this happened while I was busy/asleep. Have fun though!

Yeah, I didn't expect it to be so popular or get such a warm reception, since it's so niche by comparison. Guess this kind of RP is something people were missing

Name: Megan 'Meg' Winters

Age: 36 (DOB 19/06/1989)

Gender: Female

Nationality: New Zealand

Primary Role: Team Leader

Secondary Role: Vehicle Specialist

Appearance:

(gear appearance forthcoming)

Bio:
Megan is something of a tomboy, and always has had more of an interest in traditionally 'boys' things. She loved finding out how things work, and getting into rough-and-tumble scrapes. Climbing trees, hiking in the countryside, playing in the mud and exploring. Her interest in vehicles and machines never left her, neither did her love for physical activity and adventure.
She enjoyed some sports at school, though never really enjoyed the actual sports themselves. However, she did find herself enjoying alternative sports, such as shooting, cross-country hiking, biking and other such pursuits. She also showed a particular resourcefulness, and was adept at improvising and found it easy to adapt on the fly.
These talents all made her a natural fit for the Army Cadets, and she absolutely loved the routine and taste it gave of adventure, excitement and pseudo-military life, and she enlisted in the New Zealand Army straight out of school.

She went on to be part of the Armoured Corps in the Queen Alexandra's Mounted Rifles, where she showed a particular talent for working with vehicles of all kinds, and a natural talent for command and leadership.
She was liked by her comrades-in-arms and made several friends, although was equally noted for being occasionally a mischief maker and something of a rogue at times, though always trustworthy when it came to carrying out her duties. Equally her being eager for a challenge and excitement can sometimes lead her - or others with her - into dangerous situations through her own hard-headedness and bravado, and she sometimes can be manipulated or baited into taking on more than she can handle because of those qualities. She can also have a short temper at times, especially when faced with frustrating situations, and especially people being deliberately obstructive, petty or belittling. Likewise, anyone who abuses their power or position to take advantage of others is someone who will absolutely incur her wrath to the fullest she can exert it.

I can go Point Man since that is needed.

Then it's yours, and I'll put your name against it!

And on that note, we're closed for new applications/characters
One spot left for the Point Man role
<Snipped quote by Rhona W>

I also mean as far as "Can we take equipment not normally issued or issued by allied powers?"

Oh, yes - by all means; you can take stuff that isn't necessarily standard issue or issued by allies.
Interested in the Support Gunner with the Technical Specialist role!

@FourtyTwo has already taken the Support Gunner role, but you're welcome to the Technical Specialist secondary role with a different Primary
How restrictive are you planning on primary weapons / gear being?

Nothing too excessive or out-there. For example, no man-portable miniguns or suchlike; no archaic weapons like WW2 or such. And nothing 'memey' or too 'video game' ish. I will mock you relentlessly if you take a Desert Eagle, for example.
Interested in a former AFSOC / ISA intel/communications guy, role for Grenadier Medic and Communications

As Medic wasn't a primary role, I edited the OOC info to make it one, so congrats xD
This also means we have an opening for a Grenadier, lol
Two potential spots left, depending on what @Smike decides to go for
A roster of the current characters and their players will appear here

  • Team Leader/Vehicle Specialist: Rhona Whitefeather
  • Marksman/Human Intelligence: Smike
  • Medic/Communications: Thayr
  • Support Gunner/Technical Specialist: Komo
  • Breacher/Demolitions: Alfhedil
  • Point Man/Combat Engineer: Theyra
  • Grenadier/Drone Operator: FourtyTwo
