I'm surprised I'm not seeing more ideas popping up for rp's... I may be forced to try past ideas of my own, again, which I'm sure will go just GREAT...

Anyway, goodnight.

Do a lot of people conflate "simple" with "boring"? Because that would explain a lot.

@Iamtheisland it may be time to explore other sources of inspiration? Also I'm no therapist, but embracing depression as a muse might not be good for you...

Bio

Bios are stupid; oh, sure, everyone can see them, but I bet nobody reads them.

Rude hand gestures and shpadoinkle, there.

No, I wasn't drunk when I wrote this, but I was very tired.

cool, 2 makes enough for me to put something together! I'm going to allow several players, but, in order to play out arcs and have a good length story, I'm going to let characters enter the narrative over time. It'll make it easier to explain how characters know each other :P
I'll develop more of it while we wait for more people. I'm sure having a more solid idea of the setting will help.
I've conjured up a fantasy world setting where people with magical power are reliant on dice to use it, and compete against each other with "Avatars". I had both Yu-Gi-Oh! and Shaman King on my mind as I was working this out, but, as it goes, I'm sure people will see lots of parallels or similarities with a variety of properties.

I've got the character sheets mostly ready, still working out some of the rules surrounding magic, and Avatar combat turns.

Anybody interested, or at least, love dice as much as I do?
waiting on one character file, need one more player! Already have a story ready to start, still accepting applicants!
bump
Somewhere else, on Earth, in an urban area, a loud disagreement could be heard from the street. A cat screeched and ran away as a young man stormed out the door, slipping into a denim jacket, and quickly moving down the steps at the front. He moved like he was in a hurry, but determined.

A middle aged woman in scrubs leaned out the door after him, “Monty, don’t you have to get to your job? The prescription can wait, really! I can call a colleague of mine to get it-”

He dismissed her with a wave, and called back over his shoulder, annoyed, “Nah, it’s fine! You should have taken care of this before coming in, today, but I’ll work it out! You stay here; taking care of my mother is only your job, after all!” He shook his head, frustrated. Shouldn’t have said that. Should NOT have said that.

Turning a corner, not far from his front door, He thought about how he was going to apologize. It slipped her mind, that’s all. This wasn’t even going to make him late; he didn’t have to blow up at her, like that, he thought. He had everything under control. He pursed his lips, and sighed, to himself, "Okay..."

He was so lost in his thoughts he didn’t notice the glowing ring that opened up beneath him, and before he knew it, he’d felt like he was falling!

An older man with a walrus mustache, a dirty face, and paper bag in hand had been walking by, and saw this. He gave a start, and watched, incredulously as the young man had vanished, moments before the.. Whatever, did, as well! He blinked, looked at the bag in his hand, and resumed walking as he tossed the bag into a trash can, shaking his head…
a role I previously mentioned, and had yet to outline.

Coward/Traitor
The guy who breaks rank at the first sign of trouble, or hides an infectious bite from the group. Sometimes they turn on the group, completely, either through coersion, or a generally selfish nature, allying themselves with the monster/s directly, or incidentally serving the monsters' interest as a result of thinking only of their own. A character who fills this role, even though you're all but guaranteed to die, can be an excellent option for players who appreciate good roleplay, but aren't quite ready to commit to the game, long term, and, similar to the Skeptic, can (within reason) be an easy source of inner party conflict/tension. The GM and player can even agree to sneak this character in under a different role, just to prevent metagaming >:)
"You don't recognize me?... I'm still your captain, Foster. You must treat me with respect!" Virus
So... Do I write when and where the portal grabs me, or do I just write a post, and you control that?
First post is up! super excited! let's rock n' roll! (silly/sad part? I'm this excited, and I"m probably the oldest one here)

No worries, man. Thanks for the heads-up!
