I'm not sure when I'll be able to post this journal, but such a fascinating thing has happened! It seems that during my travels I seem to have somehow (I'm not sure how right now!) travelled to another world! I'm not quite sure how it happened, but just think of the exciting new possibilities this could bring up! If there are other worlds, then that means that (amongst other things) we can use them to help us figure out new ways to take care of our world!

This is all just too exciting for me. Yes, I'm in a strange new world, but at least 雪球 is here to keep me company, and I just know that what I'll find here will potentially benefit everyone in our world, human and omnic alike.

Mei let out a content sigh as she finished typing up her journal, before wiping her forehead with a gloved hand. Ah, if only she had a change of clothes... She was definitely a bit overdressed for this kind of weather, really, but right now there wasn't much she could do about it. Even if she was a bit warm right now, finding out more about where she was was more important than remedying some mild discomfort, and it didn't take long for her to notice something that seemed a bit off about the whole situation.

Specifically, a pink-haired Japanese girl wearing an old fashioned school uniform. That didn't seem to quite fit with the European fantasy setting she seemed to be in, even if she was talking to what looked like a fairy and a diminuative wizard. With Snowball hovering behind her, she approached the strange looking group...

"Ah, nihao!" The overdressed climatologist waved towards the three, a friendly smile on her face even as Snowball floated over to gently nudge the fairy. "I couldn't help but overhearing you, but you seem to be strangers here too, am I right? I mean it's pretty obvious I'm not from around here either, really, I mean just look at how I'm dressed right now!" Pausing for a moment to prop back her glasses, she realized she'd forgotten something rather important. "Sorry, sorry, I'm so sorry! Where are my manners? My name is Mei-Ling Zhou, but please, just call me Mei!"

Female Chinese Captain Cold

• Name: Mei-Ling Zhou, but she usually just goes by Mei.
• Title: The Face of Pure Evil
• Gender: Female
• Appearance: "Our world is worth fighting for."
• Personality: Despite all she's been through, Mei is relentlessly positive and kindhearted, showing compassion for others and truly believing that the world deserves to be protected. The only people she isn't warm towards are bullies and those who would oppress others, and can be surprisingly venomous towards them when compared to how she is usually. She's a bit shy and awkward at times, but that never seems to get in the way of her good humour.
• Ideals: Mei strives to preserve the environment with her scientific prowess and weather-modification technology. As a member of Overwatch, she was also concerned with protecting world peace in general.
• Biography: A peerless climatologist from Xi'an, China, as a member of the special taskforce Overwatch Mei-Ling Zhou was a member of their eco-watchpoint initiative dedicated to researching the cause of the planet's escalating climate phenomena. She helped introduce cutting-edge technologies that helped protect at-risk areas across the world, and eventually was stationed at the program's monitoring station at Watchpoint: Antarctica. However, disaster struck when a sudden polar storm of immense proportions cut the station off from the rest of the world, and facing eventual starvation as their food supplies slowly began to run out Mei suggested that the team cryo-freeze themselves until the storm passed over and help could be reached. They were only supposed to be in stasis for a few months at most, but Mei emerged ten years later to find she was the only survivor; the cryo-pods of the rest of the team had malfunctioned and led to their deaths. Not only that, but she found that the world she woke up to had gone through major changes, for the climate issues had worsened, none of the other eco-watchpoints where operational, and Overwatch had been disbanded due to rising popular criticism and internal strife. Still, she wasn't the type to just give up, and so with her climate-manipulation technology in tow she set off around the world to try and re-establish the eco-network and track down the causes of the threats to the planet's ecosystem.
• Powers: Mei possesses no innate powers aside from being a brilliant scientist and climatologist.
• Weapons: Mei's sidearm of choice is her Endothermic Blaster, a cold-manipulating gun with four functions. Firstly, she can use it to emit a short range stream of concentrated cold which she can use to freeze any adversaries in place, and its secondary fire function blasts out a solid icicle-like projectile. If threatened, she can also use it to encase herself in a block of ice, protecting herself from harm, and its final function allows her to instantly generate large blocks of ice in the forms of walls and platforms.
• Equipment: Mei is accompanied by Snowball, a weather-modification assistant drone. Its most notable feature is the ability to create a rapid endothermic exchange, emitting freezing wind and snow to create a localized blizzard. Whilst said blizzard is cold enough to freeze those caught in it in a matter of seconds, it takes rather a lot of power for Snowball to do this and thus Mei only reserves this ability as a last resort.

So I had an idea finally! I figured that since someone's using three Halo characters, adding one more Overwatch character wasn't that big of a deal really. ^^;

Aaaah need to figure out a character... Preferably one that isn't Jack the Ripper as a little girl. Raineh suggested Bastion but there are numerous reasons why that is a terrible idea even before you factor in the fact that there are already two Overwatch characters. XD

Personal Information

Personality:: Somewhat understandably, Felicity is rather desensitized to the world around her, coming off as deadpan and expressionless. She's not completely emotionless or anything, it's just that she doesn't really outwardly show it anymore. Despite this, and despite all the tragedy and misfortune she's seen in her life (or perhaps even because of it), she actually has a rather strong sense of humour, even if it's dry, sardonic and extremely sarcastic. Unfortunately this is somewhat offput by the fact that she's almost supernaturally clumsy and often finds herself stumbling over nothing or recieving numerous amounts of amusing injuries every day; due to this she is almost constantly covered in bandages, and is missing her right eye due to some past mishap. Her sense of direction is almost as bad, and she can get lost just walking down the street if unaccompanied. Even though she seems a bit distant at times, really she's actually rather lonely, finding it hard to get close to people due to how her luck is just so bad it seems to rub off on others.

History:: Some people just have all the luck. And then there's Felicity Frum. Felicity's life thus far has been little more than a succession of misfortunate events, enough to cause some other wizards to assume she is in fact a cursed omen, bringing bad luck and disaster to all who come into contact with her. Whether this is actually true or not is up in the air, but the fact remains that she's rather prone to accidents, embarrassments, mishaps, hardships and tragedy. Really, she just has the most rotten luck.

Her career of misfortune began as soon as she was born, with her mother dying due to complications with the birth. Still, her father was a kind and loving man he took it upon himself to raise him on her own... At least until Felicity's eighth birthday, when a bizarre incident involving ice cubes, a roast chicken and a very sharp pencil led to his unfortunate demise. After this, she was moved into the custody of a succession of relatives, all of whom soon died under unlikely circumstances until even the most charitable amongst them didn't want anything to do with her. Some even began whispering that what had happened weren't accidents at all and Felicity herself was behind them, although this couldn't be farther from the truth; she just really was that unlucky to be around.

Eventually, with nowhere else to go, she found herself with little other option than to join a guild and hope that with so many powerful magicians around her they'd at least be able to not die random bizarre deaths for a while. With Harpy's Wing being the only guild that was willing to give her the time of day, there wasn't really much choice in the matter of which one to join, and thus despite only being a novice in the ways of magic Felicity found herself becoming one of their newest members.

Magic

Magic Name:: Storm Magic
Description:: Magic that allows the user to manipulate the weather and control winds, rain, lightning, clouds and other such phenomena.
Known Spells::
Dismal Downpour:: Summons forth a localized raincloud, whose size and intensity can be modified by applying more mana to it. A relatively simple spell that not even Felicity can screw up that much.
Gusty Gale:: Creates a blast of powerful winds in an attempt to blow away opponents. The strength of the winds can be increased by applying more mana to the spell, although Felicity's luck (or lack thereof) causes most attempts to make it more powerful to spiral out of control.
Shocking Storm:: Causes a mighty bolt of lightning to come crashing down from the skies. Surprisingly powerful despite Felicity's low ranking, although there are a couple of problems with her actually casting it: it has to be cast outdoors otherwise it will just hit the roof above, and it's actually rather tricky to aim at the best of times before you factor in Felicity's terminally bad luck and her lack of depth perception.

Other

Relatives:: None; all of her relatives have either died under bizarre and incredibly unlikely circumstances, or shun her because of this.

Possessions:: The most notable possessions Felicity has are numerous luck charms of dubious quality and authenticity pinned to her clothes, in some vain attempt to ward off whatever it is that makes her so unlucky.
