Parasite/Living Weapon: Grimoire Nuul
Dontore's abilities stems from the Living Parasite Weapon known as Grimoire Nuul. The tome has been passed down through his family for a long time, so long his family no longer remembers its first wielder. It used to remain sealed due to tales of the Grimoire corrupting its wielder over time. Dontores however, embraces the corruption, and it has shown slowed but still sure progress compared to the other wielders of the book.

Half of his body has been consumed by the book, and is now covered in a wispy shadow. Grimoire Null can actually speak, and seems to think himself as a rather aloof figure.

Appearance:

The left half of his body is completely covered in shadows but a glowing yellow eye can still be seen.

Personality:
Dontores could be described as highly apathetic. He cares little for anything, one of the qualities that first drew Grimoire Nuul to him in the first place. He hardly ever speaks to other people, but perhaps this is due to the talkative nature of the Grimoire, as he was known to talk a little more often before he acquired the tome.

Blockbusters:
Do you think you can face me? – Level 1
Dontores holds out the Grimoire in front of him, and a hand made of darkness bursts from the book to crush his enemies. The hand grabs the enemy and smashes them into the ground, before throwing them away. Deals moderate damage, major knockback and stun.

Come now! You can do better than that! - Level 1
Dontores generates a pulse of darkness centered on him which deals varying damage and knockback depending on how close the enemy is. If at the edge of the radius, the enemy will only take a little damage and they won't be knocked back. If they are right next to Dontores when it activates, they will be knocked back a considerable distance and take moderate damage.

Taste my power! - Level 2
A heavy orb of darkness is fired from the Grimoire and it detonates when it hits an enemy or goes a certain distance away from Dontores. The orb deals light damage upon primary detonation, then continues to suck enemies towards it in an AOE around it, dealing constant light damage to enemies in the center of the orb. The orb fades after 7 seconds and this attack can be used in midair.

I am Grimoire Nuul! - Level 3
Dontores' left arm becomes enveloped in a twister of darkness as Grimoire Nuul takes control of the left side of his body. The book shoots out a large dark hand which grabs the enemy. Dontores' arm then whips back, taking the dakr hand with it and releasing the enemy, sending them sailing back towards him. He then smashes them into the ground with the book, bouncing them up repeatedly before using a dark hand to grab the enemy again and tossing them high into the air. As the opponent comes down, Dontores raises the grimoire upwards and fires a point blank darkness orb which instantly turns into a darkness singularity which constantly damages the opponent. The orb then detonates with a dark shockwave to finish off the attack, inducing major knockback.

Bio:
Once, Dontores was a rather normal child. He had been adopted by a rich family, and he had little to worry about. He was however, still apathetic, even at a young age. This changed however, when his brother, his parents' biological son, disappeared; and it soon arose that they had been last seen going to the room containing the family's secret Heirloom, Grimoire Nuul.

Tales had been passed down through the family of Grimoire Nuul, it was said to corrupt the wielder and consume their body and soul for its own use. Word soon spread around the manor, that his brother had been consumed by Grimoire Nuul. Dontores however, didn't care. He had never cared for his family, and that wouldn't change. The Grimoire didn't interest him, and he didn't care. But one night, he found himself standing in front of Grimoire Nuul anyway. Why had he come there? Perhaps the book would contain an answer.

When the morning came, the Allore family saw what had become of their second son. He was found by a servant, unconscious, his left arm holding the Grimoire. When he regained consciousness, a layer of shadow was slowly creeping up his arm. He reported to his parents, and after a few days of arguing, they came to a decision. Dontores was to be disowned, they could not associate themselves with the wielder of such a dangerous artifact. Surprisingly, Dontores cared little for his disownership. He quietly packed his things and left.

He says it's a power based on your personality, but I'm also assuming it should have some aspect of bending reality?

There are a couple more things wrong with your character, and unfortunately, I wrote down a lot about it...

This is really long

First of all, in the origianl post, it is stated that guns are supposed to be extremely expensive, in the lore it says 'New technology is worth its three times its weight in gold.' Judging from what I read of your backstory, I doubt she would be able to get her hands on twwo, as even having one as a normal character is sort of a stretch. From what I've seen, she would technically be an orphan, and people like her wouldn't have access to firearms very readily.

I assume even in the order, guns are only given to their higher ranking members. Even your character being given one to use is also a little bit of a stretch. It is difficult to maintain a steady stance for shooting while in the air, and any kind of scientists with the capability of making mechanical wings would now at least the way wings work. They would give a creation with wings some kind of longer range melee weapon, as those typically require lesser finesse and can keep enemies at a distance.

It's unlikely in the first place that she would've been taught use weapons before mastering her flight. I also doubt that the doctor would attempt to train your character as a competent mercenary, as it would take some time to train her, and even more money for equipment and potential failsafes in order to keep you in line. The losses would be too high to cover in this kind of society with anything short of a full year of high-profile contract assassination.

Also, this is set in a sort of post world war 2 era, but there was advanced technology at one point. All of that advanced technology however, is lost in the Shatterzone. The alterations to her body would most probably be somewhat crude as the money needed to obtain enough technology to do something like adding mind controlled functioning wings onto a person in this setting would probably bankrupt a kindgom.

If you would like to keep your character, I do have one suggestion.

Possibly the most technologically advanced faction would be the cultists mentioned in the original post. They are known to steal technology and disappear into the shatterzone meaning their level of technology is currently unknown, and could potentially be anything. The current most plausible way for your character to have those wings would be at the hands of the cult.

Last question for awhile. Do any of you know how to program? I'm trying to make some games or would like to, and need a programmer. Unreal engine is free, so that'll probably be used.

And I could show you a few things. I'm only intermediate at 3d stuff myself, but maya is 30/mo for a commercial license, so thats not bad.
