Current I'm a pretty good writer and former site staff; I still deal with imposter syndrome every time I log on. You're definitely not alone. And t's worth trying anyway.

I just finished The Secret History, a very Gen X book. Never Let Me Go before that, which I'd recommend to any writer outside the MFA atmosphere who wants to know emotonal restraint.

Howdy!

Have entirely too much fun during your stay. <3
Bigger question is whether I still have the energy to GM the game.

I'm not afraid to say I feel a hollowed out version of my former Guild self.
I've had plenty of characters do very mundane things. Especially going to the bathroom, what with the epic example of 'And then he pissed in darkness.'
A good idea. :)
I'm back. I have no idea if anyone outside of Altered, Zach, and myself are still 'in' though.
Sorry folks!

Life decided to be less-than-fun at a none-so-ideal time. =/
New characters will be coming into the game together, Tig and Tundra. So our new characters would meet shortly before arriving at the X-Mansion.

Name: Chloe Kale
Age: 48, physically 18.
Mutation: Biological manipulation; sorceress.
Personality:

Chloe Kale is a calm presence that never seems to get too high or too low. In general she is quiet and polite, obviously intelligent and well read without needing to verbalize it or quote great minds to prove it. A sweet natured core juxtaposed with a cool exterior; in large part due to being lost outside of time and space in a pocket dimension for forty five years--the result of a magic spell gone awry. Though Dr. Stephen Strange was eventually able to rescue Chloe, the psychological damage had been done, especially after run-ins with dark mystical forces. Her reintroduction to human society took years, and when finished Chloe agreed to join the secret organization of mutants ran by contacts of the Doctor.

A lover of history, the arts, and pretty things.

History:

Chloe Kale was born into the Kale family of magic users in the 1950s, just when the family was finally settling into America after escaping war torn Europe. Her childhood was anything but normal, even if it appeared to be a normal upper middle class New England upbringing. Along with her friends and school, and her Beatles obsession, Chloe was raised to be another in the long line of Kale magic wielders starting so long ago with Illyana Kale.

In a ritual being performed by the family, Chloe slipped through the cracks of spice/time created by the spell, something going haywire with Chloe's inclusion in the ritual. It would take over forty years and the Sorcerer Supreme to finally uncover what went wrong that fateful day: Chloe's mutation had complicated the spells affect on her, landing Chloe in a pocket dimension separated from space/time. For the first ten years, Chloe was in absolute isolation. When contact finally did come, Chloe's initial joy quickly turned to dread as it was the interdimensional seekers of a dark, evil, mystical force that found Chloe.

It would take almost another decade for Chloe to return to the peace of absolute solitude. Unlike her prior isolation, this time Chloe had strengthened her mind and spirit and was able to draw on the magical lessons of her childhood with new eyes and a sharper mind, learning new things from old lessons stored in her memory for years until her next contact, a shorter and less threatening experience that also lasted far less. Until Dr. Stephen Strange would find her, Chloe went through several different highs and lows of mental health, until finally learning to balance her mental state out no matter what extreme she went through.

Strange, upon finding her, would comment she came off, "like an old grey beard wizard from fiction." The only thing that phased her upon her return to Earth was the break up of the Beatles, and the murder of John Lennon--Chloe would shed many a tear over that fact. The fall of the Soviet Union was initially confusing, as was the extreme capitalistic motives of China. But above all, the actions of the USA since 9/11 on. She had never been naive, and no sorceress could ever be a moralist, but it all seemed to clash with the Americans ideals that had been preached to her during her New York upbringing.

Upon learning a 'team had emerged' as a leader in the secret organization she knew Dr. Strange assisted in, Chloe said her farewells to the Doctor and left to join other 'reinnforcements' being sent to the New Mexico team hiding out in Xavier's legal locked former home.
Back. Working on game stuff. =)
