Current I'm a pretty good writer and former site staff; I still deal with imposter syndrome every time I log on. You're definitely not alone. And t's worth trying anyway.

I just finished The Secret History, a very Gen X book. Never Let Me Go before that, which I'd recommend to any writer outside the MFA atmosphere who wants to know emotonal restraint.

<Snipped quote by Ruby>

We could go for the Aegon hiding, they would've been close enough to be a viable stop and had the strategic advantages of being able to easily escape. I guess that would also stir up some good favour for the Amreths.

Maybe he has fond memories of Melara?
I suppose I should see if anyone feels like building some backstory with everyone's favourite crownlands minor lords, the Amreth. I'm open for good/bad/whatever histories really.

You probably don't want a history with the Greyjoys. >>

Maybe Aegon was hidden there at some point during the war?
Is my character getting sent to kings landing or would he get a summons from the Martells to accompany House Dayne?

Sort of up to you. I'll help however I can, though!

He could accompany House Martell, or House Dayne, or just go on his own hoping there's a tourney (there won't be).
Anything, or anyone, I've missed?

Speak now, or forever hold your peace.
House Hightower has been complete for a while; I've just been making small tweaks. They should be all done and ready to go now, though. :)

House Hightower is approved.
Greyjoys posted.

Time to start working on our opener.

Keep in mind, most folks will be called to King's Landing.

House: Greyjoy
Green or Black: Black
Recent History:

During the Dance of Dragons, the Greens attempted to lure the Ironborn into the battle on their side with political appointments. This made the Ironborn laugh. When the Blacks countered with no more than asking the Ironborn to attack Queen Rhaenyra's enemies, among them the weakened Lannisters, the Ironborn did not laugh; they grinned, grabbed their arms and armor, and hopped into their longships. Many in the Seven Kingdoms see this ultimately as a mistake: while it certainly provided a boon to the Blacks, the Ironborn have not stopped raiding and reaving since the official end of the civil war, causing nearly every bit of Westeros' western coast to bleed. Recently the Red Kraken has disappeared; some claim murdered, others illness, still others more fantastical stories than the last.

So, just like the title of this topic says, I'm new on here, and as for the rusty and very nervous part, please hear me out. Basically I used to roleplay quite a bit on a website whose main focus really wasn't roleplaying, and I caught myself thinking about those past experiences a lot lately. The logical course of action was to look for and sign up to a roleplaying website, alas that was impeded by the fear of not being able of writing and creating characters as well as before. But today I decided to-excuse me for the abbreviation- YOLO it and well, here I am.

So, uh, hi?

Welcome to the Guild!

Most of your questions are answered in the PM sent out to you by the Guild Mods account.

Any other questions, feel free to PM me!

Apologies for the petty conflict that broke out in your welcome thread. That's pretty unusual, as you'll see if you ever scan other welcome threads.
Morningwood and House Amreth are approved.

I'll start working on a roster soon.

Also beginning work on the House Greyjoy CS.
Okay, so:

HeySeuss is going to help me out and handle the opener.

A few things (and HeySeuss can correct me if I'm wrong on anything):

The opener will start DURING a set-up run.

It'll involve a bit of combat. Nothing too heavy.

The group will already be assembled, doing a run to get their hands on heavy equipment that would be impossible to trace. (Otherwise they could just buy it/have a fixer provide it.)

Huge thanks to HeySeuss for rescuing me here.
