27 years old today. Only three years of my 20s left. Where did all that time go?

So apparently, if you use a tooth with a filling in it to chew toffee, the toffee can become sicky enough to pull the filling out.

"That sounds like a very full conversation, Aldric,"

"Does it?" Aldric asked while bringing a hand to his chin in thought on the matter.

Meanwhile, as you slipped into his mind, you found your grandfather's surface thoughts to be a mind-bending maze of jumbled thoughts, confused feelings, and burning memories. You turned one corner to find a memory of Aldric speaking to someone with an inordinate amount of pride in a unique set of dice made for some sort of board game. You turned another corner to find Aldric thinking about both increasing and decreasing the size of his serving staff at the same time. You go straight ahead and find his internal monologue muttering vague words of encouragement and advocacy for perseverance.

After about six seconds of navigating this maze, you began to feel slightly dizzy. You also got the distinct feeling that brushing against Aldric's mind for too long would bode ill for the wellbeing of your own mind.

During his time in slavery to the drow, Leo's mistresses had forced him to perform under much more unpleasant conditions that what the hallway was putting him through. All while expecting the same level of quality they expected from every other performance. As a result, it was simplicity itself for SHOOGBIMBHALD to continue maintaining a steely composure as Gurgle-Thump and Splosh-Krack prostrated themselves in awe at the sight of their god passing unhindered through the sickening effects of the hallway.

"Oh Great One!" Gurgle-Thump rumbled into the floor. "You walk the Heavy Path! You do not wobble! You do not heave! You are stronger than the bad air! How may this unworthy meat serve You?"

"I have business that I must tend to beyond the door you keep." SHOOGBIMBHALD declared. "Open it."

SHOOGBIMBHALD's words caused Splosh-Krack to look up with one eye in a mix of fear and confusion. "But Great Shoog... Big Shoog... Sir," Sploosh-Krack stammered. "This is the No-Go Door. High Priest Blibdoolpoolp was very strict. He gave us the Big Order. He said 'Do not let the God in.' He said 'If the Great Shoog comes here you must stop Him.'"

"Blibdoolpoolp said this?" SHOOGBIMBHALD said. "He gave you the Big Order?"

"He said if we let You in... he would be very upset," Splosh-Krack continued after struggling to find words for a time. "He said he would hit us with the Punishment Eel. The one with the teeth. But... You are already here. And You look very determined. So we are very confused."

"Then I will clear up this confusion." SHOOGBIMBHALD responded. "Blibdoolpoolp is only able to give you the Big Order because I, as the god of this place, allow him to. And as the god of this place, I get to give both the Big Order and the Biggest Order. And the Biggest Order must be followed above all other orders. So here is the Biggest Order, that you must now follow: You are to open this door and let me go through it. Blibdoolpoolp will not be allowed to punish you for following my Biggest Order over his Big Order. If he does, I will bring that same punishment down on him seven times worse upon my return."
An 8 is enough to glean something useful from actual recent events.

Back before the confusions set in, Aldric was a very easy person to like. He was well liked by the public, and he was especially well liked by his friends. Andraste Amastacia and Durwith Bronzebeard being two such friends.

After the confusions set in, the public was deeply saddened by news of his deteriorating mental state. And the people who had to see it for themselves found it especially upsetting. Especially among those who were friends of his prior to the confusion.

It is entirely possible that it simply pained the founders to see someone they've known as a friend for close to a century in the state that Aldric is in.

Also, could I get a Wisdom saving throw from Viktor, please?
That'll be a History check.
"Do you remember what you were talking about right before they got upset? Was it a specific story, perhaps?"

Aldric took a moment to think before speaking his reply. "We were not really discussing any one thing when we spoke." Aldric said. "We were just talking about recent events. You marrying Cassandra, the March, Master Durwith's youngest granddaughter announcing that she was expecting her firstborn soon, one of Lady Andraste's most promising pupils going off to see the world. That sort of thing." While your grandfather claimed these were all recent events, all of these things actually happened about thirty years ago.
It gladdened Leo immensely that the Monitors didn't immediately notice his presence. Out of all the kuo-toa that revered him, these two were the ones he wanted to look weak in front of the least. They were the biggest, toughest, most battle-hardened warriors in his congregation. The formidable stone clubs they wielded would have been intimidating too, if it weren't for the fact that Leo knew the Monitors were at their deadliest when they fought with their bare hands. They only ever used weapons when they wanted to reduce the risk of accidentally killing someone. The last thing Leo wanted in this moment was for the Monitors to see him visibly sickened and start doubting his divinity.

And so Leo mustered as much willpower as he could find. He fought down the sick, twisting nausea. He forced the heavy leaden feelings from his limbs and bones. He brazenly defied the strange gravity in the hallway. He willed the world to stop spinning and the air to stop pressing against his skin. And he actively denied even the slightest possibility that he would throw up. Once he had done all of this, SHOOGBIMBHALD moved away from the wall and walked with perfect steadiness and total confidence towards the forbidden door and the Monitors guarding it.

When you glanced at Lady Agnes, you saw that she had unfolded a hand fan, brought it to her face to conceal everything below her eyes from view, and averted her gaze. But though much of her face was hidden, there was something to be gleaned from what was not. The undersides of her eyes were a little higher up than they usually were. Especially at the outer corners of the eyes. This suggested that Lady Agnes was smiling behind her fan. Though you were unable to determine what kind of smile she was hiding.

"She's just busy, Lord Everheart. Lady Melia is helping to manage the guests and the gifts. She told us not to worry her right now."

"Why am I not surprised?" Aldric said with a mix of amusement and exasperation. "You know, there are days when I think she doesn't quite get what retirement means... Though I suppose we all do what we must to take our minds off that whole Great Modron March business." Aldrich shrugged before looking directly at you. "And stop with that Lord Everheart nonsense, Dmitri. Even if you hadn't just become a Lord Everheart yourself, we're in-laws now! Call me Aldric, my boy.

"And of course we would take the time to be here with you," You continued then. "You are a very special man to our family, and we would never miss a chance to spend time with you on such a happy day."

"Oh you shameless flatterer you." Aldric laughed. "I guess now I know how it is you managed to charm my daughter so." It took him a moment to notice the drink you offered him, but eventually he did. "Ooo! Thank you kindly." Your grandfather expressed his gratitude before eagerly accepting the beverage, taking a drink, and letting out a satisfied 'ahh'. "That's some good stuff right there."

Aldric fell silent for a time as he savoured his drink then. He took in the sight of his surroundings as he did. This eventually led to him noticing Andraste and Durwith off in the distance, causing the old man to suddenly remember something and turn back to you and Lady Agnes. "Say, have either of you spoken with the founders in attendance yet?" Aldric asked. "Lady Andraste and Master Durwith came to see me earlier. The strangest thing happened though. They seemed to become somewhat upset as we spoke, but I couldn't discern why. And when I brought it up and asked if they were alright, Master Durwith went even quieter than he usually was and Lady Andraste made up some hasty excuse and quickly changed the subject. Strange, no?"
Let me know when you've leveled up your characters so I can update the Passive Skills List accordingly.

Done.

Suppose it's time to introduce my boy.

Ready and waiting in the Characters tab, for all to see.

...Yeah, Brutrumukk is definitely gonna think Hruggek and Grankhul sent Voth to taunt him with what he's lost.
It's good to hear you're still up for this game.

I wish you well in whatever life is throwing at you to keep you so distracted and I look forward to when you get the chance to make posts for both Witchlight and Time Marches.
