Hibiki & Shizuka

Shizuka was relieved when her allies were freed, but that relief was cut short when Titania of all people started firing on her. Shizuka took two shots, which fortunately her armor had taken, before materializing her energy shield once more. ”Dammit Titania, I don’t have time for this!” Shizuka quickly slipped on her sister’s Stalker Cloak and vanished from sight. While her shield was still up Shizuka made a beeline straight towards the elevator, closing it and going up. She wished she could have stayed and helped Bonesword or snap Titania out of it, but she had already wasted precious time convincing Iona to free them.

The next stage had demons, Shizuka knew this much. She’d have to work with Ni-Mu to get through here, and frankly the ex-angel didn’t really care for the newcomer. She obviously wasn’t made to take orders that’s for certain. But Shizuka was also aware that like Bastion, she’s likely one of Eos’s personal creations, which meant she had great power. Shizuka would just have to get used to the thought that Ni-Mu was more or less a commander in all but rank and act accordingly.

Meanwhile Hibiki was slightly glad that Shizuka managed to free her team though she did think that Shizuka had wasted time with sentimentality. They were racing against the clock and Shizuka could have used that time to run into an elevator instead of trying to save everyone else. They need to be able to fight their own personal demons. Hibiki had a tinge of disappointment that her sister kept relying on others for strength. There was a reason Hibiki wasn’t participating in this battle alongside her. If she keeps up this sort of thinking, Shizuka would never be stronger and be too dependent on others to protect her.

As for the battle raging on the next floor Hibiki noticed that one of the angels were gone. That reminded her that one of the rules of this tower and Hibiki smirked. She had nothing against the angel, but she was glad to see at least one of them eliminated by this challenge. The one summoned to fight the angels did pique Hibiki’s interest. Apparently she had some personal history with Juno, which made some sense. Hibiki doubted anyone who was strong enough to face Juno wouldn’t know who she is. "Oh? And who’s this fine specimen you found, mistress?” Hibiki asked as she replenished Hohenheim’s tea and cookies.

Parum fell to her knees. She still couldn't believe what happened. An adult blue dragon shows up, starts laying waste to the soldiers here, Orchid tried to climb it, and she heard it's threat. She's been threaten before and she's been rightfully scared, but usually she could take care of herself around bigguns. But hearing that dragon dismiss them so easily made Parum realize that they never stood a chance. He was just toying with them this entire time. What would have happened to them if he actually took them seriously? Parum didn't know. But something shook inside Parum. An inquisitive, morbid curiosity.

"Why was he here?" Parum was not a brave person, but neither was she ignorant. There was obviously something more a foot here. If this dragon truly led the horde here then he would have no reason not to lay waste to everyone and pilfer their treasures, or whatever Greenest had to offer really. Yet he treated this battle with the same air of apathy as a mercenary doing battle. That must mean that the dragon, while no doubt the strongest enemy here, wasn't the one who truly led this horde. So Parum must know: who is the mastermind behind all of this?

A familiar scream shook Parum out of her thoughts as Orchid made a painful landing. He made an obvious remark before falling unconscious, and right after that Kyra went to heal him, undoing his injuries but still failing to wake him up. Brannor went to move Orchid out of the way as he spoke to the old man who created a blossom of ice, probably to protect them from the dragon's lightning breath. While Parum appreciated the gesture she wasn't confident that such a thin sheet of protection would have really saved them if the dragon did attack them. Regardless Parum followed Kyra and tried to help whoever was injured, though what she found... There weren't many survivors, if any at all. Most of them were fortunate to have been vaporized immediately. Others weren't so lucky. So many dead and maimed. If Parum wasn't shaken before, she certainly was now.

"Good Oghma... Just what can we do now? Kobolds and brigands are one thing, but to face a dragon..."
And I finally posted. I had a whole bunch of stuff about what Hibiki was doing at the festival, but I scrapped that and got to the important part instead.
SMITTEN KITTEN

Kitten logged into DGO as soon as she got home, the events of the festival a distant memory now. While she did her best to record what happened at the festival as usual the biggest news was happening in DGO. Smitten Kitten wished she knew what was going on because whatever was happening ought to be huge. Fortunately for her, the last place Smitten Kitten logged out was the Scarlet Harley guild. She was here with Itsuko to remove her outlaw declaration, and now Smitten Kitten was going to head to the battlefield to record the first skirmishes of DGO's guild wars.

As far as Smitten Kitten was aware of, the Scarlet Harleys had not picked a side in the war. But it wasn't hard for Smitten Kitten to learn that the Fanged Rangers were near by, so the Red Guild would be neutral no longer. Kitten hoped to get the high ground and watch the battle from afar, but the moment she stepped out of the sanctuary she was attacked by a hail of bullets! The Fanged Rangers had already breached the walls and seemed to be attacking everyone indiscriminately. Normally Smitten Kitten would stay within the Sanctuary until everything was over but training with Rampaging Tiger, Smitten Kitten was more confident in her abilities. She took some damage from the bullets was quickly ran to cover, using her Feline Grace to reach the rooftop and loose the gunners.

Most of the Fanged Rangers seemed to be on the walls, so Smitten Kitten headed in that direction. With the Scarlet Harleys and Fanged Rangers going full out against each other Smitten Kitten was able to hide underneath all the chaos, though she had to be careful not to get hit by stray attacks. Taking cover behind a chimney Kitten scoped out the players and keyed onto a few who were holding their own. Rampaging Tiger was doing a great job taking out the Scarlet Harley defenders until another player named Burning Blossom attacked her. Not too far away Smitten Kitten spotted Verdant Green too, who was suddenly attacked by an assassin called Nyx. "Oh I got to see this!" Kitten said with a grin as she hopped from roof-to-roof to reach the outer walls.

Catarina La'Spada

Laying against the side of the wagon, Catarina didn't really resist when Malkai asked to see her wound. Though she did keep a hand on her shield in case he tried anything funny. "Tainted blade... I took some anti-toxin so hopefully I can shrug it off, if not... Well I hope the next village has a apothecary." Taking off parts of her armor, Catarina revealed to have quite an athletic figure underneath, despite her armor's bulky onion shape. The wound was on her side, and it managed to pierce the leather and cloth padding her body. The cut wasn't shallow, but it wasn't too deep either; perhaps an inch or two. But more than enough for the poison on the blade to do it's job. She had no idea what it did, but she didn't feel any pain, just numbness. If she had to guess this was some sort of paralysis poison. Mercs would coat their weapons with a cheap version to make sure any wounds they struck killed their enemies too. Catarina dabbled in it a bit, but decided not to waste money making her sword more deadly, and just made sure she hit her targets.

As Catarina let Malkai examine her she listened to Vivian's story. Her story sounded like something out of a fairy tale. Princess wanted to leave with her lover, but who was unjustly killed "for the greater good". Princess wants vengeance and leaves, leaving behind a trail of corpses. Then her sister, who was Vivian, was tasked to get her. One mistake later and now Vivian had the honor of being a free woman. Of course like all fairy tales, it wasn't sunshine and rainbow. Being a drow, Vivian couldn't exactly settle down with a normal life. Even with her magic to disguise her Vivian still risked being ran out of town simply for being a drow. Catarina understood that much.

"Tch... Well, I guess I can't blame you. What with me being human and all, never really faced any discrimination. At least nothing that I couldn't handle. But don't think I don't know what it's like, being targeted for who you are. Humans are right bastards you know. The fact that I'm a woman in armor is more than enough reason for some men to draw their swords on me. Well, I guess that's not really unique to me, but it's all the same. Bigotry and fear makes men do stupid things." Taking a deep breath Catarina took out a water skin and drank from it deeply. The poison was starting to make her feel feverish. She really hoped that she wasn't going to die from poison of all things.

Parum

And once more the party was off! Parum listened in one the conversation behind her while she kept her eyes on the road ahead of her. As Vivian finished up her story Parum chimed in. "Oh Vivian, it doesn't take much for people to try to kill you. Whether you're a drow, foreign, or even just poor, no one needs a good reason to be hateful and bigoted. Still, good on you to use your talents. Plenty of people would kill to have an amulet that lets them change their appearance. Change their whole life really." Parum herself was all too privvy to those types of people. People who wanted to try to start fresh with a new life, and escape their old ones. It wasn't as if they had nothing to loose, far from it. They had debts they couldn't pay, and they'd have to do things so horrible they couldn't live with themselves. Some of them... Didn't.

As the sun went down Parum had other thoughts on her mind. "If what you're saying is true Vivian, chances are this wouldn't be the last we hear of your kin or those gnolls. I've been around the city long enough to know that there's a sizable gnoll population hidden in the dunes, and once they figure out that there aren't any survivors they're going to send some more. Hopefully not for a while since we did leave anyone alive, but drows are tricky. I'm sure they'll find out sooner or later. To that end, we should schedule a watch order tonight. With eight of us we should have no problems doing one-hour rotations. I'll volunteer to go first of course."
"The dragon isn't our only enemy! We obviously have no means to defeat this dragon now, but we are more than capable of dealing with it's soldiers!" Parum shot back as she moved out from underneath the new ice cover to observe the dragon. It was giving her a look, which frighten the Halfling. She didn't like how the dragon looked, and in fact didn't want the dragon looking towards her at all. But what came to even more of a surprise was that foolish, neigh suicidal warrior on their side. Parum knew that Orchid would never get close enough to the dragon to successfully spear it. Evidently she was wrong: with a combination of her magics and the half-orcs furious stupidity, he jumped off the tower and hurled his spear towards the dragon.

Parum wasn't sure if she should be inspired by Orchid's actions and try to fight the dragon further or leave it to him and deal with the others. However Parum also looked around and noticed that the soldiers she told to leave and fight the other minions were actually just running away. She'd understand their hesitation to face a dragon, but that was no reason to desert! Parum needed to act fast. She started a new song, focusing everything she could to make it right, to make it loud. Magic flowed through her fingers and into the strings, wafting through the air for the soldiers to hear. This would be their fight song; this would be the music to rally them together and fight not just for their own lives, but for their homes and people.

"Do not go gentle into this night, be steadfast even if you fright. This day is not over and we must fight, rage, rage against the dying of the light!"

All of you or just you KoL? I think I remember Lone saying that he was going to be on hiatus and I don't want to bother him while he's taking a break from War.
@Ryonara

Holy, Shizuka is tall! The fact that she's twin with Hibiki made me think of them as the same height. This chart is really interesting.

I like to think that it's because Shizuka was raised in Heaven where she obtained the perfect mortal body. Hibiki on the other hand was pretty much raised as a soldier and has had it rough. Never really ate well as a child, suffered a lot of injuries, etc. It wasn't until she reunited with her sister that her life gets better.

I also have some ideas about Shizuka and Hibiki's upgrades. I know I can't apply them right now but I just wanted to let you know I have something in mind.
