Yukari Yozakura

Yukari was in such pain that she didn't even noticed the people coming into the room. First was Monika. She would see Yukari tossing and turning in bed, one leg raised in a cast, wrapping her arms around the bed and biting her pillow in pain. She'd also see that in Yukari's tossing and turning she had removed an IV that was going through her arm; while the needle was still in her arm the tube had been pulled out and dripping the medicine keeping Yukari's pain at bay. She was also bleeding from her IV as well. "Ah... Aaaah! It hurts!" All Yukari could do was keep writhing in pain and groaning about it. Her senses were going haywire and she was feeling very cold despite how sweaty her body was getting.

When Haruka came in she'll see the same thing. But when Haruka called for Yukari, she paused for just a second to call out. "Ha-Haruka, help me please, it hurts so much!" There were bruises all over Yukari's body from the beating she received, as well as her left leg in a cast, which was starting to slip out as Yukari was using her powers to get out of it. That wasn't good however as her leg started bleeding from the wounds inflicted on her, which just made Yukari panic even more and caused blood to drip onto the bed. The heartbeat monitor Yukari was hooked up to was reading Yukari's heart beats faster and faster as she was panicking. She knew she had to calm down, but this pain was so intense she couldn't think of anything but how to make the pain stop. She thought if maybe if she could just hold onto something tight, it would all go away. Put pressure on everything until it turned purple and numb. But her powers wouldn't let that happen; no matter how she twisted or turned her body she'd always feel this pain. It was unbearable.

Yukari Yozakura

Yukari’s memories were fuzzy. She remembered waking in and out of consciousness what felt like every few minutes, but the scenes changed so drastically. First she was falling off her feet, then she was being wheeled out of an ambulance, then she was getting surgery, and she wasn’t even sure if any of this happened. In between the moments of clarity Yukari’s mind drifted back to her time living on the streets. It was a very short time period, only about five days, but she remembers them well. How on her first day she had quite a bit of money stolen from the circus, and how the next day it was all gone. She had thought that she could trust being a vagrant child with other vagrant children. It was a harsh lesson for her when she found out that even they could slip pass her heighten senses and make off with her wallet. At least they didn’t try anything else, but it still left a painful memory: she couldn’t trust anyone.

The next few days Yukari did things she wasn’t proud of doing. Mostly stealing, but also a lot of lying. Unlike some vagrant children she could still pass off as a normal girl, albeit a blind one, so she’d often play dumb and take advantage of people’s kindness to get little things like some food or a drink. She never stole money if she could help it. But it wasn’t like she was being Robin Hood and stealing from greedy merchants or corrupt shop owners; she was taking advantage of kindly old ladies and dumb boys who fell for a cute face. She put her performance ability to use.

It wasn’t until she actually got to Komei that the harsh realities of being a runaway really set in. It wasn’t just sleeping in the streets and stealing things to get by; Yukari didn’t even know her birthday, let alone other information she’d need like her insurance, her social security number, and her previous school record. She had none of those things. And she knew that she couldn’t just straight up tell everyone there that she didn’t have those things because she was a runaway. At best they’d just have to turn her down, or at worse they might even arrest her and try to bring her back to her parents. All she could have done was play dumb and get the paperwork that needed to be filled out, but there was no way she was going to go to Komei on her own. She couldn’t even read the damn papers.

Soon Yukari’s eyes slowly opened. Her body was numb due to the anesthesia they put into her. She could barely move a muscle but she was at least able to look down at her legs. One was in a cast being suspended in the air; the same one that Kensai had gashed deeply. She didn’t want to see how that looked, but she imagined that it was painful. The wound did remind her however that she never defeated Kensai. She immediately shot upwards then immediately regretted it as her entire body was wracked in pain so intense it made her scream.

”AAAAH!”

It was like her entire body had been stabbed with a knife. She felt so cold that she had to hug herself, but she was sweating like crazy. Her temperature was high and she was suffering from a fever somehow. She thought she saw nurses come in but she was completely alone in her room. Then she realized that she’s blind, and everything she was seeing was just in her head. This sensory overload just confused Yukari even more, causing her to writhe painfully in bed whimpering in distress. "H-Help... It hurts!"
Let's get this party started right.
Literally insects. This was hardly worth her time.

For a young adventurer a swarm of bugs might be fearsome. They aren't like a conventional enemy where they're one single being that you can strike down; a swarm consist of hundreds if not thousands of tiny creatures that you cannot strike well with a blade or arrow, and even if you can kill one or ten, there are still hundreds of more. But for Ashe this was typical. She lived in a swamp where swarms like this were more common than rats. And she knows how to deal with either. Raising one hand up she blasted flames from her hand, shaping it from a single gout to a wide wall. Any bug that came near would get vaporized, and even if they came as a swarm each indivudal could not withstand the flames no matter how many gathered.

But Ashe did not ignore the true threat. She had heard the giggles. She knew that this swarm was being controlled by another. So while her wall of flame was holding back the tide of insects, Ashe conjured a ball of fire in her hand and threw it at the laughing fairy. Her fireball would come shooting out from the wall, which had been hiding Ashe this entire time. Despite lacking a visual Ashe's aim would be precise as an arrow; mischievous fey were enemies Ashe has faced as well.
I choose to rescue him anyways. We've planned this out for nearly six months! I'm not about to let it all go down the drain.
"What."

Parum wasn't sure what she was hearing. Oh she heard it alright, but she was trying to interpret it. Here Leosin was, crucified to this post, and Parum and her friends were just moments away from saving him. And he... Doesn't want to leave. "Okay calm down. Obviously Leosin has been thinking a lot since he got captured. Maybe.... Maybe he meant to be captured. The cultist takes slaves after all, so there's a reasonable chance that he tried to get captured to infiltrate this place like we did with Brannor. But if that's the case, then obviously his cover has been blown, almost like ours. In fact I'm sure our cover has already been blown and if we don't act soon, the whole camp is going to jump down our throats." Parum took a deep breath and quietly started to undo the bindings keeping Leosin in place. She tried to only cut enough to set him loose but not cleave through the rope, since they still needed to hang up the body double.

"Look, Leosin. I can tell that you've really thought this out. But so have we. We're here to rescue you. Your followers have asked us to find you and bring you back alive. Greenest is in near ruins. If there's anything you can do to help us, anything you can tell us, it'll have to be away from this camp. Are you strong enough to run?" Once Parum had Leosin loosen she motioned for Orchid to quickly string up Davis. She also created a minor illusion around the area to create an image of darkness, shadow, ideally whenever the moon was covered by clouds, to make it harder to see them from a distance. It wasn't a her best illusion but hopefully it'll be good enough.
Now that the gang was all here, Parum quickly summarized their plan. "We'll grab Leosin and replace him with this cultist we knocked out. We'll disguise him too to help lower the suspicion. Brannor, if possible I'd like it if you could somehow free the other slaves. I want to give them a chance at freedom. If nothing else, their escape combined with our own may give us more time to get to Greenest before anyone is wiser. Torag, I must rely on your abilities with animals to scout the area for us, and if need be run interference should the need arise. Orchid, you and I shall secure Leosin. We must be quick and subtle. And Kyra, your abilities as a hunter and your knowledge of this area will be our key back to Greenest at top speed. Once Leosin is within our custody I trust that you can safely guide us to sanctuary." Parum looked at the other four. Though she's only known them for a few days, it has felt like she's worked with them for years. "There's nothing else to say. I wish you all the best of luck. Gods protect us."

Yukari Yozakura

”Yozakura-san!?” Donny quickly withdrew his body as the thug was knocked back from Yukari’s kick. Donny had managed to eat half of his sword and would’ve nearly gotten him too had she not intervened and saved him. Donny was nervous about showing his true form around Yukari, only to remember that she was blind. Still no sense in getting careless now. ”I uh… I was chasing a t-t-thief and found…. T-T-These guys.” Donny was on his guard in case the man tried to get up and attack.

”Ho? Trying to fight a villain yourself Asahi-kun?” Aftering kicking off the man Yukari jumped up against the wall and was holding onto a window still. ”Returned what you stole and surrender! Give up now and you can still get out of this without too much trouble!” Yukari hoped her words would reach the man but she knew it wouldn't. Someone like this must be too desperate to actually consider giving himself up.

Sure enough the man snarled. “Damn. You kids piss me off…” Though he didn’t have much of a sword left he still had enough to cleave down a wall next to him, causing the whole thing to fall as he retreated. As the wall fell it would block the path between himself, Donny, and Yukari. That being said Donny didn’t intend to give up the chase. He still needed to get his card back. Knowing that Yukari couldn’t see him, Donny didn’t hesitate to eat a hole into the ground to tunnel underneath the falling bricks and emerge out on the other side, but by then the thieves were getting away. Donny chased after them on foot trying his best not to get tired out.

When Yukari heard the blade singing through the air and then hit brick, she knew what was going to happen. No way this guy intends to fight 2-on-1, especially since his sword sounded broken. Yukari launched herself forward and started chasing the guy from above, going well past him and Donny since she could easily go from wall-to-wall thanks to her quick and finesse. She needed to try and stop them somehow so she grabbed anything loose she could get her hands on, such as a small potted plant, and tried to hurl it at the thief and knock him out.

She picked up the scent of others ahead. Seemed like it was just one for now. Smelled alcoholic; perhaps an office worker back from the bar? Either way Yukari and Donny needed to stop these thieves soon before others get involved!

The man did his best to defend himself from Yukari’s attacks, smacking the projectiles away, but doing so slowed him down a little. As he was trying to go forward his partner had to keep urging him to focus on running as they reached a rather large back alley area. “Hurry, we can escape throu-” Suddenly she was silenced. When the older male turned to look the last thing he saw was a golden flash before he was knocked out. By the time Donny and Yukari arrived they’d see the two thieves knocked out on the ground. And a tall, white-haired, red skinned man.

”Well that was easy. I was hoping they’d put up more of a fight!”

Donny stopped and looked cautiously at this man. He was huge; almost All Might huge, maybe just the same. Rippling with muscles. And he had this huge nodachi taller than Asahi was, almost taller than the man wielding it. And this man was huge! Something told Donny this guy wasn’t just your average bruiser. ”What…. W-W-W-Who are you?”

On the rooftops Yukari was observing the scene below. The alcoholic scent was much stronger now, mixed with blood too. It sounded like the two thieves from before had been stopped, but something wasn’t right. It felt like they went from the frying pan and into the fire now. ”What the heck…”

The swordsman turned to Donny and didn’t seem to notice Yukari, but he didn’t seem to worry either. “Heh. So you must’ve been causing that ruckus. If you could send these two running, maybe, just maybe, you’ll be more entertaining. Been a while since I’ve had a good stretch. As for a name, you won’t be alive to remember. But when you get to hell, you can tell them Kensai sent you!” The man chuckled as he approached Donny while cracking his knuckles.

”Finally. One step closer to my dream.”

The ruins of Norn were terrifying. It reminded Ashe of her country after it was razed. She could see the former glories this place had and wondered what had to have happened for all of it to be lost. If perhaps there was a lost king or even princess hoping to restore it to its former glory. ”No. don’t distract yourself now. Focus on your mission.” Ashe continued down her path, bow and arrows in hand, venturing deeper into the ruins.

She needed to figure out where to go. Some locations seemed pretty obvious. There was a large church still standing that could be a useful landmark. But no doubt others have seen it and thought the same; Ashe couldn’t afford to run into violent types right now. No she needed to look elsewhere. A ruined keep it mayor home perhaps. Somewhere that would have the information she sought. If she couldnt find it there, then she will risk looking around the church.

Ashe knew her cities well and knew how to best find a keep, they would ya e the most open roads so their armies could sally it quickly. And even among the fallen ruins and rubles Ashe can clearly see the path before Norn’s fall. Making sure she wasn’t followed she would sneak along this road to the city’s Fortress.

Name

Princess Ashelia Infernus

Age

24

History

Ashe was still a young girl of fourteen when she was was to be wed to a wealthy and powerful young man. For Ashe was a princess of Infernus, a small but valuable kingdom that sat upon five great mountains rich in minerals. The marriage was a political one, but one that Ashe thought was true; she had known the prince since early childhood, played with him, and grew affectionate to him. Her marriage would symbolize their kingdoms unifying together to create prosperity for all. But what she was too young to realize was the dark greed in men. She was used by the prince as a pretext to bring his army, his "honor guard" into the fortified walls of her kingdom's capital. On the night of the wedding when she was to be wed, as her kingdom celebrated and became drunk on their own merriment, her husband to be attacked. Ashe's father was the first to die followed by her mother; slain by the prince's own sword. Soon after his soldiers began to to slaughter the soldiers of her kingdom, who tried to fight back as best as they could, but it was chaotic.

Ashe only escaped thanks to her royal bodyguard, someone who was too professional to allow himself to be tricked so easily. He took Ashe away but they would soon be cornered. He gave the princess specific instructions on how to escape the castle and where to go. He gave her his personal dagger before sending her off to hold back the soldiers coming to kill her and take her kingdom from her. She escaped with her life, at the price of everything else. In the span of three hours she lost everything; her family, her friends, her home. The prince, the boy she had loved and admire for so long, now a bloody conqueror and betrayer.

After fleeing the castle and the city, Ashe did as her bodyguard instructed and fled to the swamps. Normally not a land she would go; it was a poisonous place filled with monsters. But perhaps because of it's dangers, it was why she was safe there; none of the soldiers would dare chase her into what they thought would be sure death. Here she sought out a woman who could help her; a witch. This witch, said to be an ancient ancestor to her family, had powers that the world was not ready to witness. And it was that power that would be taught to Ashe so that she could reclaim her birthright; the power of Pyromancy. For many years Ashe was an apprentice to the witch to learn the power of Pyromancy. She learn not just magic, but how to survive in the swamp; how to chase prey and hide from danger. How to cultivate both herb and remains to create medicine and poisons. Ashe learned how to fight and how to get stronger.

But personal strength will not regain what was lost. Ashe knew this; even if she could return to her kingdom and slay the prince with her own hands, she would never be able to stand against his armies alone, nor run her kingdom before a new usurper came by. So, what she needed was something that could control the greed in all men; wealth. The swamps she lived in had very little to offer in the ways of riches, but the Witch knew of a place that could grant what Ashe wanted: the ruins of Norn. Said to be home of countless priceless and powerful artifacts, if Ashe could find some she could not only fund the means of retaking her kingdom but also procure weapons that can be used to defend her home. So after learning what else she could from her teacher, Ashe set off to the town of Brighthaven to seek her fortunes and lay the foundation of her return.

Strengths

Hunter - Ashe is a skilled hunter meaning she is good at stealth, following trails, and chasing down (Or running from) her prey.
Alchemy - Ashe has learned how to use various mixtures from nature, beasts, and even people to create poisons and medicines.
Pyromancy - Ashe has unlocked the secret of fire and can preform Pyromancy. She can conjure a Pyromancer's Flame to both her hands, creating a fire that only she can control. She can make the flames brighter or dimmer, hot enough to melt through steel or cold enough to not cause any harm. She can either shoot these flames out from her hands up to ten feet, or throw a small but fast moving fire bolt up to two hundred feet.
Weapon Proficiency - Ashe has learned how to use a dagger and a shortbow to hunt. While she mostly uses it to hunt small game, she can use these same weapons to take down big animals too, such as bears.

Weakness

Stealth Dependent - Ashe is excellent at taking down enemies quickly and silently; if she can't do either she'll have to run or rely on others to deal with it.
Small Frame - Ashe is light on her feet and can avoid most weight traps but conversely she can't take a hit very well and she's easy to overpower. She needs to avoid direct confrontations if she wants to survive.
Prideful - Ever since her kingdom fell it's been all she cares for. She doesn't care about the struggles of anyone who wasn't from her kingdom and insulting it is an easy way to earn her ire.

Items

Witch Robes - Thick robes with water-resistant trousers and heavy boots, good for traversing a swamp over a long period of time. While it might not be able to withstand attacks very well, it's good for surviving the elements.
Silver Dagger - A knife given to Ashe by her royal bodyguard. A silver blade that shines even in the darkness is said to be most effective against monsters and other beasts who are normally immune to mortal weapons. Though since it's a blade made of silver, it also doesn't fare very well against mortal armor.
Composite Bow - A bow made from a mix of horn, wood, and other materials and lacquered together with an alchemical glue. It's a fairly short bow but doesn't sacrifice any strength for speed, however compared to a longbow it does have a shorter range.
Bone Arrows - Basic arrows that Ashe knows how to make. Designed to pierce flesh and cause bloody wounds but has a harder time getting through thicker skins.
