The Supernatural and Occult Subject-Matter

The supernatural and the occult are nigh non-existent to the average person. This is not solely because the supernatural is well hidden, rather the supernatural typically manifests in a subtle manner infrequently. On the other side of the same coin, the occult and its practitioners rarely wield enough power to where making oneself known will be beneficial.

As one might imply, the supernatural and occult are two separate concepts that are closely related. The general public's definition of the supernatural and occult are far from the technical definition.

Supernatural: Unexplained happenings not of direct human origin.

Occult: Unexplained/Explained happenings of human origin that goes beyond previously understood principles of existence (NOTE: Theoretically speaking, occult phenomenons could become commonplace if the greater society became aware of it and accepted it).

Below is a list of supernatural and occult occurrences with additional information on each topic.

I will write a lore entry on the Shadow Queen tonight and the occult and how that manifests in this universe. (Maybe add a few more instructors as-well)
I can really get into this. I have an idea for a melee/martial-arts/thrown-weapons specializing assassin type of character who really wants to be peaceful and tries to use diplomacy when possible. Does that sound like it would fit well here?

That can fit to a degree. M.A/I.Ds are occasionally given room to solve problems in ways that they see fit. Diplomacy would be a valuable asset and I could see your concept being a leader type character.

The melee/thrown-weapon/martial-arts idea is very cool and can totally be a key part of your character, but I tend to run combat in a more fatalistic and realistic manner. What I mean by this is that your character must still adhere to logic in a combat situation. If an opponent is armed with a firearm and they are more than 20ft away they will be able to shoot your character, so you have the be clever with how you engage.

All in all, I really look forward to seeing what you come up with.
Updated the lore with a section that will have an illusive figure compiling notes on your characters. I have completed the entry on Melanie Auger.
Dossier Team Six

Annie: Not really digging this team-six business

Te'l: The saying - eh, was it "Eggs in a basket"

Annie: Never put all your eggs in one basket

Te'l: Crush them at once

Annie: Maybe that's the plan? Shadow does everything for a reason...

In my case, sort of. There's still a question or two that I'll have to ask you via PM, but other that mine, should be concrete by later today.

Go ahead and shoot me your questions whenever. I am free all day today.
The currently posted character "Melanie Auger" is a great example to go off if anyone is doubting there character creating.

In-particular, I really like the mildly supernatural ability she learned.
