He folds his hands behind his back and watches her. "Such raging emotions. Such hatred over something you don't understand."
He sets the knife and block aside, and sits next to her. "Are you doing ok?"
He blows away like smoke, reforming a foot away.
He laughs softly. "You have the cutest laugh."
He looks at her, his grin fading slightly. "What?"
He catches her fist in his own, and shrugs. "I had little reason to think otherwise. I lived in that time frame."
He sighs, white knuckling his staff. "And then I let her go, to be with the man she loves. I even lost......I don't know what she was, anymore. A assistant? A worker? A badly mistreated friend?" His eyes blaze blue. "Her parents agreed for an arranged marriage. I was unaware that that was no longer a custom."
He takes a step back. "Who...?" He looks at her. "What?"
He grins. "Perfect." He studies her face to make sure he gets it right, and keeps carefully carving away.
