Personality: A foreigner in another land, Abraham could be forgiven for not being the most social, or being overwhelmed by his surroundings. Contrary to what might be expected, he’s quite the opposite. He’s naturally friendly, a fact made easier by his fluency in Japanese, and he’s never averse to meeting new faces. Witty remarks aren’t uncommon, but they’re usually meant in good fun.

As a student, Abe is both intelligent and diligent. That doesn’t, however, mean that he doesn’t goof off in ALO under the excuse of “doing research”. Given his field of study, the excuse is a valid one, despite the fact that he very much is playing games. He tends to have an excellent knowledge of artifacts, both in real world mythologies and in ALO, and has a penchant for seeking them out within the game.

Occupation: College student, majoring in VR Game Design. Work part time in the school library.

Bio: Abraham is a native of England, and has had a fondness for video games from an early age. His family traveled often, and as a result he visited Japan several times as a child. He was rather fond of the country, and enjoyed these visits immensely. Most of his childhood was fairly normal, without any particularly unusual incidents. Games were one of his favorite hobbies, and he could be found playing RPGs quite often on his computer.

It was on one of his family’s trips that he obtained a Nervegear, fairly early in their use. He played the early games for the device, but like most, he was fully aware that it didn’t really live up to its potential. Until Sword Art Online premiered with FullDive technology, that is. He applied for the Beta test immediately, and was shocked when he was awarded a chance to take part. He loved the game, and played as much as possible during the Beta test. He grew to be fairly good at it. When the test ended, however, he was unable to buy a copy of the game at the time, despite Beta testers being offered a chance to preorder it. He was nearing the end of his secondary school career, and needed to focus on it before he had time to play games. His reasoning was that he could simply obtain a copy a little later, once he had more time.

It was this choice alone that kept him from being one of the only international players trapped in SAO. Despite his, and the world’s, shock at the event, it only pushed him further towards his passion of VR Game Design. He wasted no time in applying as an international student to a school in Japan, seeking to be closer to the source for the games he loved to play, and wished to design.

After the Nervegears were confiscated, he purchased an Amusphere for use both in his classwork, and for playing ALO. He’s a regular player, after (and occasional during) school hours.

Other: Like most Leprechauns, Abraham is an adept craftsman in the world of ALO, and tends to craft equipment that he has too picky a set of specifications for. Legendary equipment is something of an overarching desire, and he tends to pursue rumors of such items when he hears of them.

Abraham, most often, prefers to fight using a degree of agility and adept use of a longsword. His style, however, is fairly adaptable, as his weapon of choice changes frequently based on what he has most recently crafted or obtained.

Personality: Unlike most VR players these days, Malik’s real life personality is distinctly different when compared to his in-game personality. These mainly stems from Malik still seeing the game as just as a game and he plays mainly for the sake of his own enjoyment. As a result in-game he comes off as aloof due to his lone wolf playstyle. Malik has never been one to party with random people he doesn’t know and thus he rarely talks to anyone in-game. Instead Malik can be seen silently trekking through the game as he underlevels bosses and progresses further into the game.

In real-life though Malik is far from an apathetic loner. On the other hand he can be seen constantly pulling pranks and telling jokes to the dismay of all who know him. Malik is someone who hates seeing people being depressed and mopey, believing angst to be best left for fictional characters like Shinji. Taking this belief into consideration, it’s easy to see why Malik is always pulling off crazy stunts and pranks, not to mention offering an ear to anyone who’s in the mood to vent. The way he sees it if he can make someone laugh, smile or at the very least forget about their worries for a while, it’s been a day well spent.

Occupation: College Student studying to be a Teacher.

Bio: Malik was born to one Japanese parent and one Pakistani parent, hence explaining his odd name. Not that Malik has ever minded, his unique background has offered him opportunities that most people aren’t so fortunate to receive. Such as his trilingual speaking abilities, or the frequent traveling to Pakistan and Japan he got to do as a child. Malik grew up in the States and, thanks to his doting father, has been playing video games since he was young. Other than his odd family background, Malik’s childhood is fairly unremarkable. He’d live day to day, balancing school work, friends, family and of course video games.

When Malik entered college, he was at first unsure of what direction he wanted to take his life in. It was only after a heart to heart with his brother, that Malik realized that the easiest way to cheer up angsty people was to become a teacher. After all teenagers were some of the most whiny creatures on the planet. Thus Malik found himself on the fast track to becoming a teacher, albeit a somewhat unorthodox one.

Curious to see how different countries handled the education of their youth, Malik decided to study abroad in Japan. His unique background made the transition easier than it might have otherwise turned out. Arriving in Japan he was pleased to find himself with the opportunity to play many games that had never been exported.

Malik got dragged into Alfheim by some friends on Skype. While at first he would spend most of his time partying up with his friends, differences in timezones soon made such meetings more and more difficult. It wasn’t long before Malik rapidly outpaced his friends in level and coupled with the waning interest of his friends, Malik has since been playing the game on his own. It wasn’t long before he became an extremely formidable lone wolf player.

Other: Playing a Slyph, Malik has decided to invest most of his skills into his speed and stealth. As a result Malik is blindingly fast and capable of kiting monsters with tremendous ease. This, coupled with his deadly backstab and stealth abilities, explains his deadly ability in game. In terms of weaponry Malik prefers to stick with twin daggers for close combat and large number of throwing daggers for some options at range.

Personality: While sporting a longer fuse than his high school years, Henry still has a bit of a temper, outside of, strangely enough, the world of gaming. In either realm, when not incensed, he is a cool-headed, frank, and sharper than his straightforward nature might lead you to believe. Has a rather massive protective streak, coming from a history of very, very bad anger issues. The kind that lead to broken faces and suspensions, and damaged friendships to say the least. Turns out hurting random people just because they said something dumb really sucks. Who knew, right?

Occupation: College Student, Undecided Major leaning on Audio Engineering.

Bio: Grew up in a life full of really, really prevalent anger issues. Apparently the Nordic and Japanese ethnic mixture brought the older berserker genes to the fore. Who'd have guessed, right? In any case, all the way up until sophomore year, he was a less than model student, always distracted and volatile until an acquaintance gave him an outlet in martial arts. He's not quite the best at it, but that didn't really matter, as long as he could lengthen that fuse and be around such a positive atmosphere. Somehow he stuck with it, learning at his own casual pace even though it was mainly an excuse to wail on a bag and watch the other people ply their trade. Ended up finishing high school with decent grades, busted his butt hard enough to make into college, and is starting out his second year as something of an introvert, with slight ideas of what he wants to do with himself, Skype constantly geared towards friends from home, and a brand new AmuSphere that he's not sure what to do with besides "play something that looks interesting, like Alfheim".

Other: Weapons: Shields. Two of them, both great. An undeniable will to protect those in his party, going beyond what his stated reason of it "just being his job". Recently discovered his vocal chords actually being ~pleasant~ when not making a low, annoyed grumble. Has had a few friends' taste rub off on him, leading to a wide range of pop-culture and niche culture references he'll actually get, if not necessarily make.
