Will there be any Sith for the Jedi to fight after we break through the blockades?
<Snipped quote by Shard>

Ord Mantell is being blockaded by the Separatist Navy. At the very beginning the only troops we have on the ground are going to be the ones that broke through the blockade. (This'll explain away having 'missing Battalions' that don't have players yet.) SO right now everyone is making planet fall for the first time. I'll definitely send Vail and the scouts to do recon on the pirate base and the droid factory once the Navy takes care of the blockade though.

Sounds good.
Also, my Padawan would probably be in the same team as Vail, wherever he is. Jiyan's Padawan will probably always be at his side, too.
Alright, so we will be starting off as the 417th is being deployed on the planet. Expect many explosions and ant-air guns to fire at us before we land. Optional flashback scenes about the briefing can be incorporate in your posts. If anyone has a certain objective that they have in mind for their unit let me know. Otherwise I will give everyone orders.

@Mortarion @ClocktowerEchos @Legion02 How are your sheets coming? Anyone almost done?

I am hoping to discuss Vail and the Recon Company with Vhagar. I don't know if Vail would be on the ship and land with the rest of the troops, but rather take another squad into enemy territory. Being a Jedi Master, Jiyan could lead the troops on the field maybe? This is something that would be nice to discuss here in the OOC before the first IC post.

If that's what Vail will be doing, he'll probably be working quite closely with the Recon Company of the 177th Battalion, which I am currently drafting.

As for how to start, I think that jumping right into the storm is probably the best way to get everyone involved and writing from the get-go. Flashbacks and briefings are fine but people tend to drop off if an RP doesn't get rolling quickly enough, so it's probably best to just get straight into it.

I agree, and that sounds good, working with the Company you're creating.

Sounds like you might mean sabotage?

Yeah I think that's the one.

Toko Ling

Staring up at the ceiling, Toko laid completely still in his bed with thoughts constantly circling his head. Today they were going to start the first mission, and it would put his life in danger more than once. He needed to have his mind on the mission and stay focused, or a silly and foolish distraction would be the end of him. Rubbing his eyes, Toko slipped out of bed and continued to make it, straightening out the edges and flattening the sheets before he made his way into the shower. Hopefully this would all go well, he had been looking forward to this for a long time and now that it was finally here, he was overthinking it. Get in, finish the mission, get out, that's all there was to it. He wasn't supposed to lean on his emotions too much, and the only reason he did was because of Seichi. He needed to get the guy out of his head and move on. It was time to grow up and leave a petty crush that couldn't possibly lead anywhere behind. Toko was a ninja, a warrior, they both were. Entering a romantic relationship as a ninja wasn't a very good idea to begin with, facing dangers every single day and risking death with every mission.

Toko dried himself and slipped into his undergarments before he slid his black cargo pants on and his t-shirt. Sliding into his fingerless gloves and arm protectors, Toko finished by putting his belts on along with his sword. "It might get cold..." Grabbing a slightly oversized black hoodie, they all were, Toko put it on walked out of his room. This was it, the day he had been waiting for. He put his ninja slippers on, seeing how his father was reading the newspaper in the kitchen with a cup of coffee slowly producing faint traces of steam due to its warmth.

"Good luck, Toko."

"Thanks, dad..." With a soft wave, the boy would leave their home and started down the street towards the gates, his hands in his pockets as they often were when he was walking. "Have to concentrate. No more bullshit, Toko. You're fifteen, not eleven. Be professional." Nothing was ever going to happen between him and Seichi, it was time to accept that and move on. Speaking of Seichi, he was already standing by the gate with their Sensei, her face buried in a book. "If anything, I'll need to keep my focus up not to get killed by that psycho." She'd be sooner to kill him than the enemy would.

"Hello." Approaching the two, Toko spoke quietly before he leaned against the gate and breathed out. Now they needed to wait for the rest. It felt like they were always waiting for something. Twiddling with the sleeve of his shirt, it was big enough to cover up most of his hands, revealing only the tips of his small fingers as Toko absentmindedly tugged at the stretch bands. "I'm not feeling anxious at all, despite the dangers we're about to face...the only thing that scares me is if I get distracted and that jeopardises the mission.

Looking up, Toko saw the lush forest outside of the gates and remembered the test. This was going to be so much worse than that. This time not only their Sensei would be trying to kill them but also a bunch of enemies you actually expect would want to kill you. Gently tracing his fingers across the leather wrapped hilt of his sword, Toko turned his eyes back to the two, seeing how their Sensei had her nose in a book still. "I've no interest in proving myself to her...but I wonder what she knows about all of our skills. She saw everyone else in the test and will probably assign different tasks to us based on that. I guess we'll just have to wait and see.

Concentrating on his fingerless glove, Toko gently pulled his sleeve up to see the orange hue glimmering off of it. Such a small piece of cloth wasn't hard to enchant, but he needed to make sure that he'd be able to in the heat of battle, would he ever lose his sword. If he faced opponents much larger and much physically stronger than himself, Impact would be required to make the battle shorter. He dropped his sleeve back to place and allowed his hand to return to his side. Next, he would use Strengthen on his forearm protector. That worked as well, but being able to enchant one thing at a time, his sword was going to be his first priority. Ken always stated that Toko needed to learn to automatically be able to use Strengthen on one item at a time but that was difficult to say the least. He needed to practice a lot more before that was possible.
I'd prefer we get straight into the action immediately, start in the storm and then calm stuff down later on. I like it when movies start like that too...xD

Either way, I personally think that it would keep things interesting from the very get go. In my experiences, a slow start in an RP where you wait for everyone to post will eventually become a chore. In a heated battle and in this case, war, things will be kept interesting throughout the start. When everyone has gotten into the RP and feel like they have some stable ground to stand on, we can calm things down before the next explosion.

------------------------------------------------------

On another note, I was thinking Vail would be more of a "behind the scenes" attacker with a squad or something. It would make sense since using a sword on a battlefield with blaster bolts flying -everywhere- isn't very efficient and I am assuming people can aim in this RP, unlike the movies. Considering this, I thought that it would be rather fitting if the majority of Vail's missions would be behind the scenes and taking down important command locations or people. There is a word for that...but I can't English right now...

I remember Obi-Wan and Anakin had similar missions to that a lot, but also spent a lot of time on the battlefield with the clones. However, given the fact that I am a realism nut (to a certain extent), I find it a bit incredible that a Jedi can charge into a battalion of droids and kill everything while at the same time deflecting a sea of blaster bolts heading their way. Vail's a beast in close quarters combat but I don't think he'd do very well on a battlefield based around ranged combat and explosives xD. Deflect blaster bolts from a bunch of droids, yeah alright. Deflect blaster bolts from an army of droids while undoubtedly being their main target since...he's running towards them with a sword...not so much.

Jus' sayin'!
I do not mind Vail having an apprentice. He'd be a very off the books kind of master, though. He's not very proper at all and would probably be anything but a good role model xD.

That could be fun, though. He'd probably love his student and be all huggly and cuddly when he's not having a sarcastic attitude towards him/her.

I will say this about having multiple sheets though, try to spread it out. Meaning if you already have an Infantry Battalion you don't need another. Try making a Jedi, Ship, or Armored Battalion instead. Like I have the 117th and the Red Draigon so if I want something else it will be in the Armored Division or a Padawan. This'll leave stuff open for new players and keep us from feeling like we are writing the same kind of stuff for a bunch of characters.

@Vhagar The numbers 185th Attack Battalion and 99th Storm Battalion are taken by @The Scotsman and @The Survivor. Just in case you wanted to use those numbers.

I will stick with one character, anything else is too much for me. I hope that's okay XD
