Current The way some people spell makes me wonder about their pronunciation.

They say it's about the journey, not the destination. This is true of many things. Pizza delivery is not one of them.

TFW you know what you want to happen but the words aren't cooperating. Why is plot suddenly so much harder to write?

Glad to see I'm not the only follower of Lord Cato, god of wisdom, on this most auspicious Superb Owl Sunday.

Bio

I am an adult, though I don't usually act like it. I'm a voracious reader, and not overly picky about books. I am artistic in a variety of areas, including music, drawing, writing, and sculpting. I have a minor obsession with dragons, and love the color violet. Fantasy is my preferred genre, be it past, future, urban...as long as it has a fantasy flavor to it. I also like scifi, mystery, and some horror. I am crazy, and I like tormenting my characters. But I don't bite...much. ^.~

@The Emperors Blade I'd like to point out that using a single male as a breeder, while doable, tends to reduce the hardiness of a herd, and results in inbreeding. Though thinking on it, I suppose you don't have to breed the children with each other once they grow up. There's enough humans in the city that you can bring in new stock regularly to counter the effects.

Who tends to the human stock, if his guard gives off clouds of disease? That doesn't sound like something you'd want near your food, nor near your herd.

Overall I think this is awesome. *wiggles*
@Jewels Cool.
@antman0623 I didn't say anything about the fire shard. I said I might play a char with fire magic. That's before anything connects her to the shard. And I'm still deciding, so. Besides, it might be fun for a character with a fondness for fire to end up with an opposing element by way of the shard. Could be interesting. ^.^

@LeoricAquila You play Zelda, don't you? *amused*
@Kokushi I've gotten what I need from her, for the most part, to make my first char. @Jewels still needs to make her chars, however. Kokushi says hurry up! ^.^;
@TheTwistedOne Hey, would you mind going into a little more detail on monster populations in the four quarters of the city? Aside from the North End, and maybe some in the East End/Entertainment district, it sounds like there's not a lot of monsters, and I know that can't be the case. Actually, looking closer it says portions of West End that humans are allowed in, so I guess the west part is divided up. Still, I'd like to know what sorts of monsters, in terms of social standing and occupations, live where.
Fun~
@Mogtaki This is true. Though I'm not sure how else you would represent it. I'd go for something conveying sadness but not including tears, personally -- distraught, anguished, upset, etc -- instead of crying.
@Jewels@LeoricAquila

Are you guys going to actually play this out, or are you just summarizing the story? And does Anstass come back after death as well? I also got the impression that monks, even the ladies, shave their heads. Am I correct, or did I misread something?
Wyth put his ears back and snarled at Zander upon his approach. The moorcat had only seen his girl react negatively to the young man, and he wasn't going to let someone she didn't like near her, as upset as she was. Next to him, Amuné curled herself tighter and buried her face in his fur. While the child was a little banged up, she was mostly unharmed, but her insides felt just awful. Her stomach churned, her head pulsed, her chest was tight, and her heart felt like it had been ripped in half. She was confused and scared, and she missed her parents. She wanted her mommy to fuss over her bruises and scold her for being careless. She needed her daddy to hug her and tell her that all the bad things were far away, that she was safe and everything would be fine.

None of that would happen. Instead Amuné clung to the only family she had left as she sobbed, trembling. The fiasco resulting from going after the merchant's stolen ship was overwhelming for a girl her age. There was a good chance that someone would have to carry her, for it really didn't seem like she'd be up to walking anywhere just then.
I'm toying with a couple ideas. I've got the notion of a Bard, who may or may not have an affinity for fire. Or maybe she's got fire magic and sings, but doesn't have magic related to music.

The second idea is someone with magic relating to shadows, more of a ranged/poison/traps sort of a person.

I don't much care what shard my char is sent after.
