They say it's about the journey, not the destination. This is true of many things. Pizza delivery is not one of them.

TFW you know what you want to happen but the words aren't cooperating. Why is plot suddenly so much harder to write?

Glad to see I'm not the only follower of Lord Cato, god of wisdom, on this most auspicious Superb Owl Sunday.

Bio

I am an adult, though I don't usually act like it. I'm a voracious reader, and not overly picky about books. I am artistic in a variety of areas, including music, drawing, writing, and sculpting. I have a minor obsession with dragons, and love the color violet. Fantasy is my preferred genre, be it past, future, urban...as long as it has a fantasy flavor to it. I also like scifi, mystery, and some horror. I am crazy, and I like tormenting my characters. But I don't bite...much. ^.~

@CollectorOfMyst Oh gods Pinterest is DANGEROUS. I still have 600 tabs I need to clear out of my history from february, and that's not counting the 300 or so I saved as bookmarks when I was trying to clear them out....X.x

Never let me near pinterest. EVER. dA is only somewhat better.
@Lovejoy She definitely cares. Has ever since she figured out he was genuine. He still annoys her, though, and she wishes she didn't care. He can probably tell she cares -- I mean, he's seen a lot of her with Rodion, so he has a far better idea what kinds of things show as her caring. Including just voluntarily choosing to be in the same room when she doesn't have to be, or having any interest at all in how he's doing. He doesn't get the degree of closeness that Rodion does, of course, but he gets more than just about anyone else in Warband Phoenix. Unless you count that weird friend-rival thing she and Stina have going on? But they want to be fighting in most cases, and Ragnar does not. He still baffles her and there's times she just wants to fling him across the yard and be done with it. It'd certainly be easier. But she cares.
@Lovejoy Ziotea sort of cares, but she doesn't like caring. She can totally be nasty to him, because he's just so cheerful and it drives her nuts sometimes. Earlier on she would have been actively vicious, and tried to get him to leave her (and Rodion) alone, and she actually sees /him/ as childish and naive. Nowadays she's less actively unkind, but it's very much a "nobody picks on him but me" kind of a thing. I don't know about understanding him. I don't know that she does. But she does understand that he cares, as stupid as that is, and she's learned to accept that, and in a way she hopes to ensure he doesn't lose that compassion.

I imagine he's very aware of hre side of the mess that was that one guy she nearly killed. And all the others she injured. I can't see him being okay with her if he didn't know it wasn't deliberate. Even if she doesn't care, or pretends not to.
@OppositionJ Ziotea might have been willing to go, if only to see a demon in person. She's a capable fighter, and not bad at controlling a battlefield -- she could probably knock Tatiana or the demon away if things got bad. No idea if she's the sort Tatiana would want to have on that sort of thing -- probably not, actually -- but she would have been quietly interested, even if she didn't say anything.
@Lovejoy hm...I don't think she's ever been to the Omestrian capital. And really, she identifies internally more as Lanostran -- she's no idea who her father was, not even a name. But I could see her going, sure. If nothing else, to see if the place has the answers she's looking for.

Totally cool with separating Ziotea and Rodion for a while. It'll really drive home to her how much she takes his presence for granted. ^.^
@SinfulSkills *flails with a mouth full of cookie* aaah you mentioned me! I'm so flattered!
@CollectorOfMyst He's grateful. She's disgusted. =P

And ah yes, thank you.

Now if you will excuse me, I'm nt actually as coherent as I seem. *dies in the corner*
@CollectorOfMyst I wonder what Ziotea and Oren think of each other. On the one hand, he's Omestrian and seems to have taken to Varya's teachings with a will, and Ziotea wouldn't like that at all. On the other, there might be a little sympathy for someone with a similar background.

Huh, who's the third Omestrian? I thought we had one other, but I can't remember who it was.
@Lovejoy WEll not just that but it'd be AWESOME to have some angry former inquisitor show up later on. Maybe. <.< Either way, I like this. <3
@Lovejoy Depends on whether you paralyze the heart as well as other stuff -- people can and do die instantly from injuries to the spinal cord in that region. It's why neck injuries are so serious and extreme care is taken with them and other spinal injuries.

@CollectorOfMyst Oh, I know people do survive it (though they may or may not retain full use of their body after), but the term "to break one's neck" often implies serious damage to the spinal cord as well. IN this case, while it's possible to survive, I figured it's also possible to die.

at this point it's more academic than anything else. ^.^;;
