They say it's about the journey, not the destination. This is true of many things. Pizza delivery is not one of them.

TFW you know what you want to happen but the words aren't cooperating. Why is plot suddenly so much harder to write?

Glad to see I'm not the only follower of Lord Cato, god of wisdom, on this most auspicious Superb Owl Sunday.

Bio

I am an adult, though I don't usually act like it. I'm a voracious reader, and not overly picky about books. I am artistic in a variety of areas, including music, drawing, writing, and sculpting. I have a minor obsession with dragons, and love the color violet. Fantasy is my preferred genre, be it past, future, urban...as long as it has a fantasy flavor to it. I also like scifi, mystery, and some horror. I am crazy, and I like tormenting my characters. But I don't bite...much. ^.~

The arrival of the four strange ladies set the Eon staff on edge, so Leia tensed up as well. The redheaded dwarf, who seemed to be one of the invitees, even went so far as to place herself between Bellum and the four. Another invitee, a man roughly her age with dark hair and rugged clothing, asked the four if they'd been summoned by the head of Eon Tower.

But the four strange ladies completely ignored him, all of them of them focused on other people. Leia grimaced, and moved towards the man who'd spoken. "If Arteus did ask for them," she said quietly, "I don't think he told his staff." She looked at the tension on various staff members' faces, and frowned. Something about the four sudden arrivals bothered her, though she was trying not to judge based on just a feeling. All the same, she wouldn't want to cross any of them without good reason.
I am interested in possibly playing an oracle. However, I'm going on vacation on friday and will be gone until the first of December, so I may not have time to write up a character until I get back.
still interested.
@EtherealThorn I'm leaning toward the Oracle who Speaks.
@EtherealThorn Yes, I know who you are. ^.^ It's good to see you~
This is interesting. Keeping an eye on this!

What time period are we dealing with here? Medieval?

By the time the doors of Eon Tower opened, a number of people had gathered just outside the tower. What followed was a parade of new names and faces, enough that it was hard to keep them all straight. Still, Leia did her level best to file away the information for future use. Of particular interest to her were Elaine -- it was always wise to be on good terms with your healer -- and Johannes, the smith. She had also been interested to see the method of arrival of two of the younger maguses -- flying seemed convenient, and the broom they'd rode in on didn't seem to be magitech, meaning it had been entirely under their own power. It was a skill she'd like to pick up, if she got the chance.

The sudden appearance of magic circles on the ground was a surprise. The four women that appeared in those circles were strange, somehow, in a way Leia couldn't quite put a finger on. However the tower staff took their appearance in stride, which meant that they must be supposed to be here.

Electing to focus on more practical concerns, Leia spoke after the reptilian Belua. "Speaking of our own space...I'm looking forward to getting settled in. Name's Leia," she added for the benefit of the other recruits. "Leia Suldevi. I look forward to getting to know everyone."
@Kuro let me know if you start it up again. I had fun!
@BrokenPromise Exit's fancy designs sometimes do the nowrap thing when I'm viewing in a small window on a computer as well. So it's not just mobile that has that problem.
Johnathan Quinn

John smiled a bit as Wren showed off her powers. Then Connor made a heart out of water, and directed it at John. He could feel the color rising in his cheeks, but he grinned back. The other teen was cute, and more importantly, amiable. He definitely didn't mind being flirted with.

Then the water splashed at his feet, and John took a step backwards to avoid getting wet, a laugh escaping him. "That was pretty cool, though," he assured Connor. Unfortunately, John's ability with his gift was...not great. "I'm nowhere near as skilled as you two," he said, slightly bashful. "The best I can do is...this." He lifted a hand and frowned at it momentarily, and small sparks ran across his fingers. "I've been reluctant to do too much with my power, because...well, I'm worried about hitting something I shouldn't. I live in the suburbs, but my yard isn't all that big. And I didn't want to be letting loose in a park or another public place, so...yeah." John closed his hand around the tiny tendrils of static electricity, and they vanished.
