@The Nexerus For the fun of it and to see what great stories come out of it.
@The Nexerus Thanks for the option :) but I prefer something like this, skip the whole blasted out ruins and rebuilding bit and take a good look on how a restored world and it's new history.
@The Nexerus Correct, plenty of time for us to reach to this point, at least I hope so that it makes some sense.
@The Nexerus
The first Three Centuries was a period known as the "Age of Darkness", where humanity had lost access to electronics technology and for a while, and descended into barbarism. By the end begun the "Hundred Year War" In which several armies led by men and women who sought to rebuild civilization led campaigns of conquest, establishing the "Founder Kingdoms" by the end, some semblance of civilization rearing in. Jump start fifteen hundred years later, the kingdoms may have fallen, but in their place were new countries that would carry the mantel of civilization.

And to note, the Apocalypse started in the 23rd Century.
@The Nexerus About right. The Cataclysm threw humanity back to the Iron Age, forcing us to rebuild from scratch up till we reach this retrofuture-esqe setting.
@The Nexerus Sort of :D But less ruin and more rebuilt and restored civilization.
@Isotope I'd say the former sounds about right with what I had in mind. 50's-esqe tech with a dash of retro and more high futuristic sci-fi sprinkled in.
@Monkeypants
Very nice, and an aircraft would be good. The Government Forces and allied would most likely make use of NAU Helios if they are even sold, with the Government forces possessing only a few squadrons-worth of jets.
Awesome! Glad that's taking care of. :)
@Isotope@Brink_ I think we can find an excellent compromise in perhaps mixing of the two ideas.
