Mako stopped walking. They had both made it to the correct field, and she could already see a few other students here early. She looked behind her to see if Clarabelle had kept up. From her understanding, the frail girl wasn't very used to exercise, so Mako had been trekking slow and leisurely, which suited her just fine.

From the moment she first met the girl earlier that day, to pick her up and escort her to this meeting place, she was intrigued and interested by her. She'd seen a lot of unusual channellers n her few years teaching, and lots of recluses, but there was something particularly interesting about this doll-like, almost ghostly child, something she couldn't quite put her finger on, but she was going to have a lot of fun finding out.

Mako gave Clarabelle another of her closed-eye cheery smiles. "You can rest easy, Clarabelle. We've made it. No more walking, you'll be glad to know. Are you okay? Out of breath? Nervous?" She asked in her saccharine-sweet high pitched voice.

I think when he says 'similar' me means 'they could be more different for maximum variety'.

I mean he said my teacher character was similar to his even though they have very little in common even though I can make a few parallels. Still completely different characters. Asa's kind of like a mom character, and Mako's more like a big sister character. Also Asa's normally kind out of class but harsh in the class whereas Mako's normally playful out of class but kind in the class (unless she needs to use her power to scare somebody)

Hiyama Mako

Name: Hiyama Mako

Age: 26

Gender: Female

Channeller category: Alternative

Description of power: Mako only possesses one power; In nature, all animals, humans included, can sense when they're in danger from a larger threat. Mako has the ability to increase or decrease her own intimidation, so that small, easily-frightened animals don't run away from her, or, more usefully, she can make humans fear her as an extremely deadly threat. Due to this, she tells none of the students her real power. They just feel a strong sense of danger from her and come to their own conclusions about what deadly and terrible power she must have, and from there, behave very well in her classroom.

Personality: Mako is smiling smiling, eyes closed in a cheery facade, and is very kind and patient, teaching with a subdued passion about her subject, but misbehave and with one even slightly disappointed glance, she becomes a whole ifferent story, even if just for an instant. Out of the classroom, she actually has a playful side, will crack jokes and enjoys the occasional drink.

Backstory: Mako actually lived a fairly normal life. Friends with troublemakers throughout her childhood and high school years, she was never caught making trouble herself, but was secretly always the antagonist of said trouble while receiving non of the blame. She stuck up for her friends, however, by using her power to intimidate their bullies. Amongst teachers, she was a star pupil, and even became the student council president, a role she didn't let go to waste, working hard to oversee her duties. Amongst students, however, she was known as being truly scary behind her smile.

When she graduated, she studied teaching at college, and this was when she started to experiment and hone her power, which up until now, she had only used to intimidate teenagers. The ability to make herself not scary to kids who thought they were in trouble was just as useful as the ability to make them sit up straight and behave with a single open-eyed glance.

This was when she was first contacted by the institute. She was having a hard time finding permanent work as a teacher and they had full-time spots to fill. They could also answer questions she had about herself, and the nature of channelling. After researching this topic, she was now fully informed, and strove to make sure as many young Channellers as possible are as informed as possible from an early age.

Abilities: Mako is simply a good teacher, mentor, councillor, listener and friend.

Names/descriptions of moves: She has no moves. Combat with her will never come to either of them making a move, unless that move is the other person running away.

Institute role: Teacher of the Channeller Theory and History (CTH) class. This is a class that teaches of the different channelling categories and abilities, as well as the history of channelling and notable channellers of the past. She is also a mentor.

Why they were chosen for the Institute: Mako was more than qualified to teach history, and was trusted to safely keep the kids in line.

Mina

Name: Kasuke Mina

Age: 16

Gender: Female

Personality: Mina is quiet, mature and serious. She carries herself with an air of superiority. Though she would not admit to having a high-and-mighty attitude, she does, but if you asked her, it's everyone else who has the attitude problem. She's simply minding her own business. She does take a subdued pride in maintaining her academic reputation, and is very studious.

Due to her nature, she doesn't have many friends, though she may occasionally get a girl who thinks that people will think that they're smart if she follows Mina everywhere and bullies people, or a guy who thinks he's Prince Charming, and falls for her beauty. Do they really think they're actually being charming when they talk about roses and moonlight like they're rehearsing Shakespeare? Shrugging these leeches off has only worsened her reputation as a stuck up "too-good-for-everyone-else" type, while making Mina herself more cautious about making new friends.

If there's one thing she can't stand, it's the loud, obnoxious mouth-over-brain type. Because of this, she has a slight bias against Augmenters. Stating that you're an Augmenter will not make a good first impression if you don't want Mina to look down on you.

Backstory:Mina is the only child of a very wealthy and prestigious family. Raised to meet her parents' lofty expectations, she not only met them, but surpassed them. She was nothing short of a child prodigy, and her family was very proud. Then, shortly after her 15th birthday, her powers manifested, and all the plans that had been made for her went out the widow once she received the offer to study her new abilities at then institute. She had to put her foot down and oppose her parent's wishes to pursue a higher education. She was still going to pursue a doctorate (though she hasn't decided in what field yet) but her newfound channelling abilities come first. She was given them for a reason, she she was going to find out what.

Her first year at the institute was unsurprisingly a good year. She scored highest marks of the class in every academic subject. There were students with more impressive powers than her, but she still received very high marks in her physically classes for clever combinations of her light manipulation and her hand-to-hand fighting, honed from years of private self-defence classes. She made a fair few enemies that year, apparently. She didn't notice. She had no time for that sort of thing. Let the other kids be jealous. It wasn't her fault they cant' apply themselves well enough to match her grades.

Appearance:

Mina

Equipment: A plentiful supply of fountain pens and quality notebooks inside her designer satchel. Also a smartphone.

Abilities: Mina was taught self-defence based martial arts from a young age, for the purpose of protecting herself. She's also incredibly intelligent and a very quick learner. She can also play piano like an expert and cook like an adult.

Channeller category: Wavecaster

Description of power: Mina can create and manipulate light, currently only being able to light up her body and 'glow', or project it from her hands in torch-like beams, though she has the potential to be able to concentrate her light to create laser beams, and to remove light from a lit area, effectively making her able to manipulate darkness.

Names/descriptions of moves: Mina does not give her abilities special combat names. That's an immature waste of time.

I've just realised my character can also work as a staff character. It's that kind of 'older sister sadistic spectator' character. Think Nabiki Tendo from Ranma, Oyuki from Urusei Yatsura, Chizuru from Squid Girl, Rafael from Gabriel Droput, Kitsune from Love Hina, ect.
