"20% casualties?" Georgia asked, shaking his head as he looked down at his hands in despair, "You're telling us that two of the people around this able aren't expected to make it back?"

"Only one and a half people. I'm sure we'll be able to recover your brains, along with your legs." Kappa commented as her liquid body formed up from the puddle swirling on the desk in front of him.

"No need to get personal," Georgia responded, his eyes darting around at the others with a twinge of embarrassment. Coughing to clear his throat Georgia waved his hand casually aside, accidentally passing straight through Kappa, making her holographic body fall apart into a shower for wet drops before reforming as a puddle once more.

"I think I've heard of Westford. Wasn't he the guy calling himself Cykbat a few years ago when he hacked the Reach MAC array and used them to carve a smiley face into the side of a mountain range?" Shaking his head while grinning sardonically Georgia waved his hand expressively in front of himself. "I'd admire his sense of humour if he hasn't levelled the research outpost there in the process. He's just lucky they had a Pelican on-station to evac the crew otherwise it wouldn't just be cyber crimes we'd be after him for."

With all the opponents down, and the situation seemingly under control for now, Bumblebee carefully reached back and made some quick adjustments to her jetpack. THe tricky old device had been acting up a little during the battle, but with a few carefully adjusted dials and a good, hard thump she heard the afterburner actuators kicking into life. Smiling to herself Bumblebee grabbed a wire dangling from the pack and quickly screwed it into the handgrips of her blasters and clicked the mode selector to 'shock'. the barrels quickly began sparking as electrical arcs played across them, letting the aviatrix know their functionality had been improved.

Looking down at the police body armour she was wearing Bumblebee realised it was a little too bulky for her graceful flying style. Reaching down to her belt for her knife she quickly cut away the surplus straps and pouches, slimming the armour down to just the protective plating, which was the most important part for her purposes.

I don't who Scott Pilgrim is, so I'm just gonna say no.

I'm adding these two new abilities at a cost of 2 points each:
  • Sting Like A Bee - Energy Cost: 4
Using a focussed charge of energy Bumblebee shocks her target with a blast from her weapons which does energy-based damage equal to her Attack and applies the Shocked status effect to them, reducing their Defence by 1/3 (rounded down) for three turns. Shocked may be stacked.
  • Afterburners! - Energy Cost: 4
Pushing her jetpack to full power Bumblebee gains the Speeding status effect, allowing her to add her Defence to her Attack the next time she attacks an opponent. Bumblebee must be Levitating to activate this ability.

And also, after negotiating with @Genni I'm going to use the Body Armour to upgrade my flight suit, gaining a permanent Armoured status effect worth 3 Defence, at a cost of 1 Skill Point.

I'll be looking to get an Energy regen boost on my next level to mitigate the Levitating power drain, and maybe even surpass it, depending on how I distribute the points.
Me too.
Skills: Meotode: After use, the next attack counts as two attacks. Energy cost 3.

That's a bit of a wasted ability, since you'd take one turn to activate it and then attack twice in the next turn. You might want to increase its hitting power more so that you have a boost over simply attacking twice.

Although it could be a useful skill if we're facing an opponent who can heal themselves over time, or one who could raise a temporary defence which we'd have to wait before bypassing.
So where will you guys be going? Could always use an extra hand on the smash and bash.

Meltdown would make for a good battering ram, especially since his malleable skin could make short work of most bulkheads. Basically he's like the T-X from Terminator 3, except he has an organic core rather than a robotic one.

Hardline would be better for a stealth entry. By taking small electrical items she could change her body into something resembling a snake which could easily make its way through service lines and ventilation systems to get inside without being detected. Once there she could interface with the base security systems and either disrupt or disable them.
@Weird Tales@SimplyJohn
"Mr. Meltdown, riiiight? Well... ...and I don't know your friends type of electrical systems, or if it would affect you, or biker dudes... bike."

From his seat across the table Meltdown smiled over at Impulse warmly. "No need to worry, the silver skin works bioelectrically to generate its own power. Any disruption should only last a couple of seconds at most until it regained power even if the pulse did manage to affect it. The same would go for Hardline's blood, although she may lose cohesion for a short while she'd quickly be able to recover and pull herself together."

Leaning forwards Hardline scowled, as if she didn't agree with Meltdown's assessment. "I'd totally lose control, and be reduced to nothing more than a pile of silver goo!" She said emphatically. "It would take forever to 'pull myself together' without assistance. No, I'd much prefer to keep well away from such things. If I take a few small items I could easily slip in through the ventilation system and make my way to a sensitive location inside the base, such as a comms centre or control room. Once there I'd be able to quickly subvert their hardware and have it working for us."

The dobermans were proving to be tough devils to take down, but the sustained attacks were beginning to take their toll on the beasts. Darting back and forth, making sure to keep her line-of-fire clear from her allies, Bumblebee focused her firepower on the crippled hound, hoping to take advantage of its weakened defences.

As Paxton lit the brazier a quiet hissing could be heard behind the tunnel wall, almost like a gas pipe springing a leak. A moment later a second veilfire lantern some way off down the tunnel suddenly sprung to life, followed by a third, and a fourth. Soon the entrance chamber was aglow with the eerie green light of the ethereal flames, which seemed to cast strange and inexplicable shadows on the walls which danced and capered as the party watched.

Somewhere off in the darkness a creature, disturbed by the sudden brightness, could be heard scuttling off down the passageway, its claws skittering over the age-worn flagstones.
