Welcome to Arkanshire, a land of heroes and untold power. It is a peaceful land, with on King and Queen who rule from the capital city. No wars, no enemies, a true land of peace and happiness. That is for a time. Every hundred years, the "Nightmare" awakens, opening a portal to the land of the gods. Those who are very brave, or very foolish, can enter these lands. A one way trip, those who enter try to earn the ultimate prize. You see, once the "Nightmare" awakens, the gods are now able to be killed, and any god that is killed, needs to be replaced. When you enter this land, called Arkanshire Dream, you enter in a life or death game. Will you become a new god? Or will your bones be added to the throne of the gods?

How many times have the town's people heard that warning? Over and over, year after year, always warning them. Once the Nightmare had awaken, allowing those who are brave, or foolish, to enter. One such man was a golem named Fozzie. He was getting old, his armor now covered in moss and vines. He didn't mind, he was free from war, and able to roam the lands. All so that he could try and learn about his old life. He was old, hearing of the Dream Opening at least five times. He heard what other could do there, and even heard of some becoming new gods. With that power, he could find out about his old life. He knew this would be his final adventure. He would either become a god, or finally earn his rest.

He entered one of the portals around Arkanshire. His portal sent him to the top of a cold mountain, chilling even him. The wind let out a howling noise as it, causing him to look around, in fear of being hunted down by unseen beast. He looked around his area one last time, seeing nothing but snow. "Very well then." He muttered to himself, and started walking in random direction, praying he was ready for whatever came his way.

Rules
* Remember that this is a dark fantasy RP. Which means, there will be a few things that make it 18+, mainly gore and language, with some sexual content. With that being said, remember to stay within the rules of the site. Use "fade to black" when needed and all that. Also, and this is very important, characters can and will die. So be ready for that. If you die, and want to keep playing, feel free to make another character. 
* Don't not take control of someone's character. You have your character and they have theirs. Collaborative post are welcomed.
* I am the GM, so my word is law. Kyrisse is my CO-GM, so she has some control as well. 
* Do not post until I or Kyrisse approve your character. Once you are approved, then make your post atleast a paragraph long, but longer post are welcomed as well. 
* Once you have been approved, you can start posting. After you make a post, please do not make another until Kyrisse or I have tagged you in a post to tell you what is going on in the world around you. If you're character is about to die, I will send you a pm, giving you one last chance to save your character, and make an answer post to inform you of the world so that you can try to figure out a way to survive. (There will always be a way to survive. Look at what I post, as the details hold clues about what will happen.) See below for an example on how that will work. (For some extra fun, try to figure out a way for the character to survive in the example. Post it on your character sheet. This is for fun only, so if you do not want too, don't worry about it.)
* If, for some reason, I will be unable to post for awhile, then Kyrisse will have control over who lives and who dies. So make friends with her, it may save you lol.
* Below is a list of gods. NOT EVERY god is reveled, so if you meet a god in the RP, and it isn't on the list, congrats! You have discovered a god (if you play as a demigod and wants to be the child of a certain god but don't see it on the list, pm me. 9/10 times we can work something out.) Also, a god's name will not be on the list unless someone learns it. Why don't you start the game knowing their names? Because a person's name holds power. With a person's name, you can learn their history. Who they loved, what they did for a living, what their weakness is. 
* Last, but not least, have fun. We are all here to make a story and have fun. 

Example
Me: You enter an old room, the floor creaking as you walk. You notice a beast nearby, but it hasn't notice you. Above the beast, a large church bell hangs, as if tempting you. You look on a nearby wall to see a rope with a hook holding the bell in place. The rusty hook could be removed, or broken, to drop the bell, but that could take time. Cutting the rope will guarantee the bell to fall, killing or trapping the beast. 

(At this point, the player would get a pm from me, informing them that they may die)

Player: I slowly walk to the rope, pulling out my knife. I start to cut the rope, and once it is done, I quickly move away from the rope.

Me: You cut the rope with no issue, and the large bell falls. The beast notices too late as the bell falls ontop of it, killing it almost instantly. But sadly, the floor cannot hold the weight of the bell, and starts cracking and snapping, breaking away. You were unable to get away quick enough, and fall into the pit, breaking your legs. The sound of the bell crashing, and your screams of pain, have caught the attention of more beast living in the basement. You are lucky, as these beast prefer to kill their prey quickly, and not toy with them. You have died. 

Races (we may add more later. Feel free to pm me or Kyrisse your race idea)

The most most common race in Arkanshire, humans can be found almost anywhere in Arkanshire. From the rich capital, to the poor farming communities, humans will be there. Nothing really special to say about humans, but the Queen is one so....yay.

They appear human like, but with pointed ears, the ability to age much slower than the other races, and the fact that they are incredibly beautiful. Masters of spells, they have high intelligence, and are often full of themselves. And I'm not just saying that because this one elf girl broke my heart into a hundred pieces and stomped on each piece. I would never be that way.

Short, human like beings that live in underground cities. They are often traders or warriors for hire, dwarfs cannot learn magic, so instead they make wonderful/powerful items. The most important member of the dwarf race right now, is the king of Arkanshire.

Strong and ugly, that is the orc way. Whatever intelligence an elf has in their brains, an orc matches it with muscle. Often nomads who roam the lands of the kingdoms, or bandits out to take whatever they can, it is always best to have an orc by your side, instead of in your way. Now, how are these idiots able to cast spells?

Hundreds of years ago, Arkanshire had gone to war with another land, and was losing. In order to win, the king had made a deal with the dwarfs and goblins to create powerful beings to even the odds of the war. Thus, the golems were created. Towering over most of the races, these beings didn't need to sleep, eat, drink, or even breath. They also do not age, many of the ones created to fight in the "Great War" are still alive today. But, they are not perfect beings. Goblin witchdoctors and elf necromancers infused the souls of the dead into the armors used to create golems, and with the war over, they are often seen as mistakes and abominations.

Much like dwarfs, these are tiny looking humans with really hairy feet. Often hired to be to be thieves, assassins, and chefs (they make great 2nd breakfast). They tend to be lazy, but the ones I spend time with are very friendly and good company.

The best race in the kingdom. Very powerful, and good looking, they survive on blood and nothing else. The perfect predictors at night, they do have their weaknesses. In daylight, they are as powerful as their normal race (Orc, Elf, ect) before they were turned into the greatest thing ever. But, they still look like their normal race, so it's hard to identify a vampire during the day. At night, their fangs are sharp, and their eyes are as red as their meal. Now, if you excuse me, I really need a drink.

They could be anyone. The orc who sells fish, or maybe that flirty barmaid. Able to turn into a hybrid version of an animal, they are stronger and gain abilities based around their inner animal. (Boars get tusk, Hawks can fly, ect) But, on nights of full moons, they still can change at will, but once they are in beast form, they lose control of themselves. The beast will kill try to kill anyone that they can, while their "normal" minds try to take control again. The beast form also loves the taste of flesh, which causes some with this curse to become a cannibal. If you smell wet animal, but don't seen any around, becarful. A werebeast could be close.

Strange folk that live in the ocean, but are able to turn their tail into legs when they go on dry land. While they are very fearsome in the sea, it is always hilarious to watch them walk, and gods forbid RUN, on dry land.

Beings that were created by dragons, and many of their unwilling captives. Years ago, dragoons invaded Arkanshire, in hopes of taking contorl. For awhile, hey were winning, until a new race of armor clad warriors join the war, and even the odds. A treaty was signed, and dragoons were welcomed to come live in Arkanshire, after they paid a large sum of gold for invading Arkanshire. Dragoons have never forgotten this, even those that were born in Arkanshire. Because of this, dragoons and golems will often fight one another, with very few of the two races being friendly to one another.

From time to time, the gods will come and interact with mortals, and thus demigods are created. They often look like the race of their mortal parent, but with a birthmark that looks like the symbol of their god parent. They often live normal lives, but hold power over their god parent's domain. (You are more powerful when it comes to anything involving fire if you are the child of the fire god.)

Small, green colored theives. They are useless, because they think they can sneak anywhere and almost pick lock any lock (sure, they can, but no reason to brag about it so much, dicks). They also always have a "Goblin Backpack" with them, which seems to have no bottom, and a person can put nearly anything inside the bag, without it getting any heavier. So if you see a goblin, with this backpack, maybe you should stop and see if they will sell it. And hey, it's not like anyone would notice a missing goblin.

A clan of lovely winged women, who are powerful warriors. There are no men Valkyries, so they have to go "mingle" with human men, and then leave. If they give birth to a daughter, she is trained to become a Valkyrie. Don't know what happens if it's a son. Some say that the males are taken to an orphanage, and grow into powerful warriors. Others say that there is an undiscovered race, hidden away to train. Gods, I hope those are only rumors.

Now, these things are a little fucked up. This is what happens when a witch creates a child, without getting pregnant. Sure, they look normal, if you don't look at the dark eyes, but if you look away and then back, someone new could be there. They are perfect spies, and able to cast some simple spells, I've heard of kings going to war in order to take a shapeshifter, in some lands. In others, churches hunt them and their mothers down and burn them at the stake. In Arkanshire, they are welcomed with open arms, so good for them.

So, you want to be a god? You entered the Arkanshire Dream all those years ago, and who knows how far you made it. But, somehow, you died. And of course that makes you mad, all that rage feeling up inside your soul. You never get to go to whatever is after death, because you stayed in the Arkanshire Dream, waiting for the Nightmare. Maybe you'll get it this time. Who cares what you left behind at home to do this, you want to be a god. You'll do anything to be a god. Even selling your soul, to the God of deals. Hope it was worth it.

Like demons, you wanted to be a god and entered the Arkanshire Dream all those years ago. But, sadly, you died. Luckily, one of the gods liked you, and allowed you to stay in their world. Your job is simple, hunt down demons, and eat their souls. That's all a ghost can eat, demon souls. Well, a ghost could take the easy way, and eat any soul they want. Once you do that, the good and justice seeking ghost is long gone, replaced by a dark wraith.

You know what they say right? Dogs are a man's best friend. Well, somewhere deep in the forest of Arkanshire, there is a race of people who take that to heart. Houndmaster are given their hound on the day of their tenth birthday. Then, over a period of blood, sweat, and tears, the hound and master form an unbreakable bond. To most people, they just look like a person walking with their pet, but that's far from the truth. Houndmasters have spells that allow them to see, hear, and smell what their hound does. They also have special whistles and commands for their hounds. No one has ever been able to make the hound turn on their master, not even the gods.

Like Demigods, houndmasters can be of any race, but are most often human. I have learned a few things of the hounds. They are a special breed known as "Dragon Hounds", and have a few perks. They can be any breed of dog, and age at a slower rate than normal dogs (something to do with Elves?). Their skin is very tough, making it hard to kill them. Their teeth are much sharper as well, thought I do not know how to make a "Dragon Hound".

Now, these things freak me out. They look like an elf and octopus had a baby, but they claim they come from the stars. They tend to live on small islands or in powerful cities out in the ocean. I would think that this would cause them to fight with merfolk, but he two races get along very well. Grazilaxxs seem to have some magic, but not what we are use too. They don't learn "our magic" but instead are born with "their magic" which they get from talking to the "Outer God", aka they hear the god's voice in their heads (what the fuck?) and they only worship for the Outer God. 

Now, it's hard to say how Arkanshire sees this race. As I said before, merfolk are very friendly with them, and some cities like having them around, as they are seen as "Jacks of all Trades", but other cities don't like having them, as they fear these "alien creatures". Guess time will tell how this race gets along with the kingdom.
