Not my own words, but: "Enjoy memes and have a good time online, but develop a solid sense of self-worth that is rooted in a reality that doesn't disappear when the battery charge is empty."

@SleepingSilence Not a big fan of this one. It's catchy, I suppose; but the way it combines pop and alt. rock, and her trendy biker look, it comes off as trying too hard to be edgy. Can't get into the squeaky vocals either; I find it clashes with the mood of the song and especially the way she voices them in the video. The bathroom sink, cutting and blood references also remind me a ton of the emo/scene craze when I was a teen and it just makes me cringe nowadays.
I guess I'll give it a 4.5/10 because if a friend played it on the radio I wouldn't hate it as much as everything else out there?

Fair word of warning: if you aren't a fan of extreme metal, you'll probably hate this. Up to you. Black/death, or 'war metal' reminiscent of Conqueror and Blasphemy. Start at 1:05 and stick around as long as you're able.

How does the map work, exactly? Is white historical Magnar land and the green foreign southerner land?
Banned for that tacky signature/avatar combo.
@gorgenmastI think you've got a great basis for a story here. I'll admit, I'm not wild about playing one of the Magnar realms (and it looks like there are enough players for that role), but maybe a southern or peripheral territory.
Returning to the thread after some time; it's nice to see it active again!

@TheMadAsshatter I'm not particularly into pop punk, but if I'd still been in middle/high school and listened to this, I'd probably be all over it. It's not a bad song; it's catchy and upbeat. But it reminds me of my teenage years and similar bands I'd listen to, and that's a time in my life I'd rather not reflect on! I'm no expert, but it sounds pretty typical of its genre, especially the vocals: I swear, every pop punk frontman sounds like the same guy to me. It's a fun listen, though, and if I was still into the whole skate punk lifestyle, I'd probably be more enthusiastic about it.

I'll leave the thread with something a bit harsher; a pinch of black metal, spoonful of grind, dab of crust punk and you get Wørsen.

I didn't intend to antagonize anyone with my comments; sorry if it came across that way. Just wanted to encourage a little shake-up of the setting. I'm still on the fence about the RP, but I'll keep an eye on it.
<Snipped quote by Aristo>I'm playing as Mongol inspired not-orks so while it could fit in WHFB's theme it certainly wouldn't be directly inspired by it.

The point is that your theme could be feasible in the WHFB setting, but isn't a carbon copy of anything within it. It has originality.

On the other hand, we're also dealing with cut-and-paste ogres, skaven, vampire counts, etc. The dwarves, at least, have different characters and names of locations.

It would be different if the factions were played with, or turned upside-down. Say, a Sylvania where the ruling aristocracy are werewolves instead of vampires. Maybe an Empire where halflings are the norm, and average humans are the minority. Heck, even name swaps, new heroes and characters would go a long way.

Twist is that you change certain aspects of the lore and the people in charge at your whim. Basically get creative, change units, government, some bits of culture, etc. Just don't think that directly copy pasting a canon faction completely is going to be accepted.
Apologies; I'll be withdrawing interest. I'm more interested in roleplaying settings and factions of players' own creations rather than copies or imports of existing material. I certainly don't mind Warhammer influences in roleplays, but going through the sheets gives me the impression we're straddling a fine line between total fandom and alternate-fandom.
Heyo!

I poked my head in the interest check a while back and now I'm here! On the subject of maps, I personally agree with Willy. The setting is supposed to be a kind of alternate-Warhammer, but I think that sticking to the original map inhibits the custom/freeform element of the RP. In a sense, the locations are already decided for us if we want to play some kind of offshoot of a Warhammer faction. I mean, you could just throw out all original notions of faction locations, but the stigma is still there.
