Who has the highest post count?

For as often as my roleplays have crashed in spectacular flames and how I've had several people try their damnedest to make me never bother posting here again by being utter shitty people directly and indirectly to me. I've racked up a sizable post amount, if nothing else. And everyone higher on here have a couple extra years on me for their accounts. So, maybe if you do some mental math. I'd be in a better position. I'd also probably have a higher post count if either of these things weren't the case. :D

@Vongola_Hasayo Ryudamon was my 2nd choice, if the first didn't pan out for whatever reason/the one I almost picked. I like either choice as a underutilized digimon. So might guess my choice, but pick something that goes best with your character. ;P

How do *you* get into your characters' heads?

I've always just sort of had an interest in acting. I was in theater in school. I did voice acting for a few youtube things. Vocal impersonations. That sort of stuff. I'm actually pretty decent at acting. Which sort of helps get me into the mindset of the characters I write. I also love weaving visual narrative in music, which is why I adore concept albums as much as I do. For those who couldn't care less about lyrics. As a writer, who actually tries to take his work seriously. It makes a difference in appreciating the great vs the good enough. When I write a character, I'll just be able to become that character, with very minimal time. I just have a really fluid imagination, so I often don't purposefully base characters of anyone I know.

Confirmation of my belief that every character a writer creates has some portion of their creator in them--no matter how small, or be they the hero or the villain.

I honestly consistently write characters that do not represent me in any fashion. Maybe, I write how I perceive the world. If that counts as a part of me, but it certainly isn't direct. I'd also say, more consistently people from writing mary sue's to complex characters in fantasy. People don't write to be like themselves. People write heroes they aspire to be, or villains that fill out darkness that most people would never even imagine doing. At least that's what I tend to see.

@Vongola_Hasayo Yeah. Point taken. Here's some feedback.

First thing that immediately jumps out at me is Selfishness, Selflessness being two weaknesses.
Now you can have both of those as character flaws honestly the more I think about it, I'm not so sure about that statement., but they need to (well should) be specified. Or else it sounds contradictory, like he's somehow both in every situation.

Like my character for example, doesn't like boys. But I specify around her age group. Because she also respects authority figures and protects those younger than her that she sees getting bullied. So I don't just have 'hates guys' 'respects dad and protects the youth' which would seem contradicting on it's own.

So for instance, maybe selfless could be toward strangers to make himself look good to those he doesn't know, but anyone who actually is around him, he's selfish towards. Though that may be more superficial...

(I'd suggest maybe changing words. I honestly consider that a strength. Even if it doesn't usually inherit good results for a character. It's still not a real 'flaw'. It's not a negative character trait or something that character would be better off without, if you get me. Maybe Naive or Gullible? Those kind of things, lead to being friendly to those who don't have you best interest. And leads people to do kind things for others, they shouldn't. Believing in the good in others, who aren't good at all. Etc. But unlike, selflessness, that is something they'd be better off without.)

Appearance: She'll put various highlights in her hair and even change her hair color on a whim, in a wide variety of colors. Sometimes wearing a wig or costume props when inside her house when recording music videos. Her clothes are casual and occasionally stained with what she ate last. She rarely wears a shirt without prints or designs, having many band name shirts and basically everything you'd see at a teen-oriented store. Her height is an average for her age. Just over 5 foot 4'. Her weight is also typical, at 110 pounds.

Skills:

• One Woman Band: She is quite musically talented, having someone tutoring her in piano at a young age. She also self taught herself to play guitar, bass and drums and can work with musical programs on the computer, such as mixing. One unfortunate caveat that drives her mad, is that she has an absolutely awful singing voice.
• General Medical Knowledge: Her mother had taught her how to perform CPR, The Heimlich Maneuver, how to properly carry someone out a fire, how to wrap a tourniquet. Etc. All the things a typical boyscout would probably learn.
• Dart Tossing Champion: She recently learned that she was really good at being accurate at throwing darts. Carnival games, watch out. She's taking home all the prizes.
• Firearm Knowledge: Her father taught her the basics of firearms and how to properly use them for self defense, target practice and how to store them.
• Self Defense: She has learned and taught basic self defense moves and she's also been taught how to effectively use pepper spray, so be cautious...

Strengths:

• Imaginative: She has the ability to think outside of the box, which usually just allows her to be creative in her music writing. But allows her to come up with clever solutions to seemingly difficult life problems.
• Energetic: She doesn't give up easily, she isn't lazy with her interests. She'll even do her daily activities with more enthusiasm than your typical teenager or even an adult.
• Educated: She knows more about useful information than your average person, but beside life skills, she's at worst average at various school subjects and has an above average IQ. She was blessed with some natural talent and she doesn't let it go to waste.
• Protective: She doesn't let her few friends get into trouble without doing something about it herself. She seems to have a natural desire to protect others, usually younger kids from their bullies.
• Appreciative: She's grateful for others sacrifices for her, she doesn't even hate her parents. She always tries to returns the favor, if you give her a loan. She'll pay you back on time, every time.

Weaknesses:

• Messy: Not just her chicken scratch handwriting, her room is pigsty. She loses every hair clip she has ever touched. She even sometimes chews with her mouth open. If she wasn't told to wash her clothes, she probably wouldn't.
• Tactless: She's not a very sensitive person. She can be quite rude to people who've pissed her off and she usually doesn't need a good reason to cuss and tell someone off that she dislikes.
• Abrasive: This is especially true when she's around the opposite sex close to her age, beside her father and family which are the sole exception. She is completely disinterested in talking or being around men or those she dislikes. “You're boring me!” is a phrase that you'd earn a pretty penny, if you got paid every time she said it.
• Self-indulgent: Almost everything she does is out of self-interest. Though a particular habit of over indulgence. Is that she drinks way too much soda...at least it's diet.
• Argumentative: She may like the sound of her own voice, because she will start an argument over anything and everything. Even things that she doesn't care about. She'll often start purposeful arguments with her father over something he'll ask her to do, just because and her father usually humors her, just to immediately do it afterward without a single grip. She's not exactly rebellious, but she'll make you spend an hour of your life debating, how you know the early bird catches the worm?

Personality: She wants to be a famous rock star. She does almost everything possible to achieve her goal. She'll spend countless hours practicing and brainstorming about her hobbies. Very rarely does she ever slow down or laze about. She loves junk food, but she'll try any food at least once. She isn't particularly scared of anything, expect her extreme fear of bees. She'll be listening to music 24/7 inside her room or inside her house, though always when multi-tasking. She respects authority figures and loves her friends and family, but enjoys trying to win arguments against them. She's a little cocky and very opinionated and blunt. She has strong disinterest and disdain for most guys her age. She doesn't like shopping if it's not at the places she doesn't like. If you don't want an earful or aren't her mother. Call her Kate, her nickname.

History: Her upbringing was fairly unique, raised as an only child by two parents that went through hell in their childhood and had neglectful and abusive families, both lived in poverty. They fought through their whole life, meeting each other by chance and becoming friends and falling in love, isolating themselves from the rest of their family tree and moving away from them before either turned 18. Getting married straight out of high school and doing everything they could to let their daughter life the best life possible. Somehow, everything worked out for them quite well. The father became a deputy chief of police and the mother worked at many jobs, scoutmaster, veterinary assistant, eventually becoming a nurse. Living in the upper-middle class and buying a large two story home for their family of three. Five if including their two German Shepard's, which we're siblings, Roger and Roxanne.

She was pampered for most of her life, she was rarely ever disciplined with being hit. Given piano lessons as a child, hired private tutors to help her in school and given most of the things that she wanted, but not completely coddled or sheltered. She was thoroughly taught about many things that could do her harm, from her father who was overly protective and rather paranoid. Her social skills taught to her by her mother, both of them working quite hard to make her an excellent member of society, that could also be a free bird and follow her dreams. Her school life was public by choice, She didn't have many other girls that liked her boy-ish attitude and demeanor, so most of her youngest childhood friends were boys. The only real negative event in her life, was during middle school, a nasty rumor was spread behind her back by her own friends. She had no one on her side, even the principal mistreated her, because he didn't like the fact her father was a cop that often punished his own son. This changed her, leading her to become quite standoffish and causing trouble by getting into fist fights at school.

Her high-school life didn't start much better, even after transferring to a different school district. Failing to make many friends at all, unless you counted her social studies teacher who was quite friendly towards her. Until two other students who happened to transfer on the same day that went to her classes. Where their friendships quickly blossomed from just sitting in the corner of the cafeteria by themselves. She spends her most her pleasant adolescent life alone or with their internet rock band with her two friends. One having a good singing voice and the other knew how to play the drums, possibly better than she did. Very recently being occasionally convinced into partaking into gaming with them. She might be the rare teenager that had some self assurance and hasn't struggled with a whole lot in her life. But that won't stop her from trying to be at least a little rebellious, she's a teenager after all...maybe saving the world will become her first true hurdle in life.

Character Goals: My character is basically a broad mix of archetypes between averted Tom-Boy (has some masculine mannerisms but has painted nails, dyes her hair, hangs out with girls/herself and doesn't really like men her age.) and subverted Punk Girl. (Appears to have the style and personality of a punk. Might be a unique individual, who stands out. But she only really rebels because her friends do it and because she thinks she has to and she respects authority figures.) I would want her to mature becoming less motivated on self-satisfaction and warm up to those around here, especially getting over her past troubles.

Edit: May not actually be specified (or I'm blind). But where exactly is the location of where we are starting? Does it matter? Are we getting sucked into the digital world right away? Or are we going the tamers route? May lead to a name and history change. :3
