My Very Brief Bio

Male, 33 years old. (I'm even more dead than before.)

Likes (other than writing and roleplaying): I'm into all genres of music. I love to cook. I love the outdoors, and walking through the park near my house. (Yes, really.) I read a lot of thriller/mystery novels. And I usually watch seasonal anime. (Or cooking shows. Because Western Media provides even fewer things that are worth watching.)

But as for my many other neglected hobbies, I've played basically every sport. (Soccer and Bowling being my favorite of the bunch.) And I'm trying to play more video games. (Going through my never-ending Steam library.) Plus, I've dabbled in making electronic & metal music, and I used to play a number of instruments. (Guitar, French Horn, etc.)

Hope you have a wonderful day!

Hanako Hayashi

Reminded of creatures from her nightmares, She reached up pinching her right shoulder but felt the pressure between her fingers. Knees starting to shake, frozen in place with a increasing heartbeat. Fingers balled into fists, narrowly focused on the Magnamon, receiving a second surprise when finally becoming aware of her surroundings, noticing all the others, most looking older than she did. The third when it started speaking, sounding like they’d been expecting them to arrive, like she had a choice in the matter. Stepping back and hearing Magnamon’s explaining, despite their protest to the contrary, she grasped her situation well enough.

“I’m not confused, but how am I supposed to care about a world of monsters I’ve never even known about…” Hanako thought.

Her eyes wandering about searching for exit and seeing others reactions. Watching two others approach the digimon, one sympathizing and the other proclaiming to get their sibling back. Becoming more relaxed, seeing them not being attacked. She covered up a cough with her arm, clearing her throat, taking several steps forward with her arms crossed, with a blank expression.

“Excuse me Magnamon, but you’ve clearly made a mistake. I’m nobody special and I know nothing about your world and why it should matter or how you expect me to do anything about it, when something your size can’t...and I don’t particularly like my world enough to want to save it...” Her tone was cold, looking down when speaking her last sentence.
Remind me to never mess with politics and gender topics.

If you produce wrong think. You'll have people foaming at the mouth in no time.
I eat food.

You too? D:
I'm sort of surprised this turned into a thing...

But at the same time. I'm not surprised at all...
@KatherinWinter

Why does he think he needs to tell her the motto?

It sounds cool, and title drop.

He told her because he was elaborating about the city itself, because he was in that city and that is topical. If we'd ever return to the city, it might be a good idea to know why the people behave that way and why he behaved in such a way toward it's citizens.

World building. He complained in his thoughts about the city previously, trying to make it obvious that he has some kind of negative history here.

Showing off his personality, his disdain for the city and his honesty, all apart of his character.

But potential for what? Becoming more? Surviving? Understanding?

That's something the character can decide what he meant. It's just the characters personal and vague feelings.

But he mentioned that the other slaves couldn't help themselves, let alone him more concrete reasons to act in such a case, goes against his character. So that's why he gave such a vague response.

(Though it's also a lie, and she closely resembles his deceased wife and that's why he picked you and had a dress of his wife as a keepsake, that fit her almost perfectly. Spoiler alert? :P)

I understood why he needed her. But not why he offered her freedom.

Like I said he doesn't like the act of slavery. He only has her, to help get his kids back. Plus, He's desperate.

Offering freedom seems like what any slave would -want- to hear. I think that be a good motivation for helping as well. Especially since he's being sincere about his motivations.
@WelcmeToGudBrgr Banned for not knowing its not edgy in context and is a reference to a song.

Banned because unsubtle cowards exist. And someone needs to blamed for it.
Double post without shame.

@KatherinWinter Okay, thanks for getting back to me. Sorry to hear about that, hopefully you've recovered.

He is simply talking to her about several things.

Explaining.

1a. The Kingdom's Motto

"They say only two types of people survive in this world. The savage and the subservient...You either dominate all below you with an iron fist or you eat out of the palm of your owner's hand. Those that do neither, will die quickly. That ruthless belief permeates throughout these lands..."

1b. His disdain toward the motto.

He sounded bitter. Clearly talking to her, despite looking in a different direction, having a slight scowl on his face.

2. Explaining why he stormed the stage and how it unfolded, saying you were the only slave on stage that he saw potential in.

"I observed everyone on that stage and I saw nothing but emptiness in every prisoner's eye. A chain of cold, defeated souls, hollow shells of their former selves. They couldn't help themselves, let alone be useful to me. But you were different, whether you believe it or not. I saw the spark of desire in your eye. I couldn't let anyone acquire you..."

"I knew I didn't have the wealth nobility threw around and decided to charge upon the stage and hope my father's old necklace would spook them into conceding with my bid."

3. Explaining his disdain for slavery.

"So, forgive my erratic behavior and my exploitation. I want you to fully understand, that under most circumstances I find the act of slavery abhorrent,"

4. Explaining that he is using her, to get into locations he can't. (Being beastkind.) to find his kidnapped children and is promising freedom after the fact.

"but I've become a desperate man. My son and daughter...they were kidnapped and I haven't seen or heard from them since. I need someone that can go through places I can't access, someone to help me get them back...I'll give you my word, once I track down the ones who kidnapped my children, retrieve them both and bring them safety back home. I will grant you freedom."

The 'seems creepy line' is another thought. :P I guess the dark blue makes it harder to see the changed/italicized text. Oops.

Hopefully more clear? :)
