No, but really I did suggest it because I think it’d add a really neat dynamic and I’m not just saying that to facilitate a sort of Yona obsession. I mean ultimately it is your character so I’ll have to deal with whatever. I mean my character will probably romantically attach to somebody before long enough and I did like a lot of the brainstorming bits we did messing around on skype so...

This should be finished within the next couple days, but I'll just put it here for initial screening rather than PMing it to myself for reasons. I promise it'll be sexy and stuff once I'm done.

Also apparently Gowi is forcing me to make him 18. Jeez, the anime hijinks.

Hibiki

Name: Tanaka Hibiki (田中 響)
Age: 18 (Born June, 1551)
Gender: Male

Physical Description: Typically eschews fancy Samurai clothing for simple sugegasa and such when he is not forced to wear ceremonial garb. (This will be filled in eventually)

Skillset:

• Naginatajutsu:
• Ascended Peasant: Seeing as for the first several years of his life Hibiki was a simple rice farmer, he is very easily capable of blending into the crowd of lower class Japanese citizens; an undervalued skill for a group of Samurai on the run, seeing as most of his contemporaries have been nobility their entire life and most likely don't know how to 'bastardize' their own speaking patterns. Or maybe Hibiki just never bothers with formal speech. One of the two.

History: The Important Bits

• Born to a pair of rice farmers on the outskirts of Raremashita territory
• Named Hibiki because he wailed a lot as a child.
• Orphaned at the age of Eight-Twelveish due to the reason anyone becomes orphaned in Anime. Wars n' stuff.
• Taken in by motherflippin' Inafune Shigeyasu
• Effectively raised alongside Kamiko, the youngest child of Raremashita clan.
• Given the family name Tanaka during his Genpuku ceremony, though he broke tradition by maintaining his given name from birth
• Shenanigans ensue with the Gekido's and he joins the band o' badasses.

Psychological Profile:
With the combination of being in the prime of youth and coming from the simple life of a rice farmer, Hibiki is a remarkably free-spirited individual. He doesn't pretend to put on airs or forget where he came from. A dual tragedy had risen him from where he was, and it wouldn't take nearly as much bad luck to throw him back down. Though for some reason this pragmatic view hasn't stopped him from speaking plainly with the Japanese Nobility, which has landed him in more bad spots than he'd care to admit.

Equipment/Weapons:

• Naginata:
• Wakizashi: Kept mostly out of ceremony, Hibiki has little practical skill with a Wakizashi blade, much preferring his Uchigatana. He has debated on whether or not to discard the smaller blade as to not be immediately recognized as a Samurai.
• Kiseru: What would life be without a smoking pipe fitted with metal and a handguard for when some prick starts drunkenly yelling at you in a teahouse?

Elevated farmer orphan as the young blood will arrive sometime over the course of the next few days! As for weapon specialty, I'm looking at you, Chokuto, Wakizashi, Uchigatana, Naginata, or Odachi. You can probably tell it's hard for me to single out a weapon to use.

I am quite curious to see what retainers we will have, though. Will they all be samurai? or will some opt to be Shinobi/Kunoichi? Hm...

I wonder how absurd, trope-filled fun an archetypal "Orphan who got raised to the status of Samurai" as the Young Blood role would be. I mean, really, what's the point of nobility if you weren't first a poor kid who lived in a hut?

Most certainly interested, though I admit I'm trying to think exactly what I want to do. Prospectively thinking the child seems like something I'd like to try as it is relatively alien territory for me despite my experiences attempting other youths (albeit a few years older than a 10-12 aged character).
