The year, is 2022. Mankind has made leaps and bounds in the areas of technology and medicine, and most countries have experienced a period of great wealth. But all good things must come to an end. The Emperors Entente, an alliance between Russia, China, and North Korea, all countries which had found themselves under dictatorial rule, is formed, and together, they begin to encroach on the borders of other sovereign nations, taking land. Other countries couldn't sit back and watch this happened. And so came the formation of the Paladin Coalition, led by the US, the UK, Australia, France, and Germany, the Coalition fought valiantly against the imperialistic mindset of their enemies.

But valiance does not win a war, and the Paladins would learn that. By the beginning 2024, they were losing, and the situation looked bleak. Citizens were calling for the usage of nuclear weapons, but as a last resort, the Sentinels were formed. The Sentinel Program, a group of gifted individuals from all walks of life who were called to the most dangerous tasks, the most brutal missions. They were a special ops team who saw the most success of any unit during the war. They became celebrities, heroes. And without them, the war would have been lost. By 2026, the Paladins had managed to turn the war in their favor, thanks to the Sentinels, and by November of that year, the Emeperors Entente had surrendered. The war was won, and democracies were instated in the countries that had made up the Entente.

Without any need for the Sentinels, the group was disbanded, sent on their way. While they were heralded as heroes, featured in museums and documentaries, they were discarded, and soon the public lost interest. Many found work as mercenaries or assassins, and some retired peacefully. The world had no need of heroes anymore.

The end of the war brought a time of peace and prosperity. Technology once again began to flourish, and the creation of sentient machinery, Mechs, was a huge step forward. Mechs became common members of society, working and socializing with humans like never before, although this brought along it's own social problems. But past the surface, darkness still lurked.

In the defeated countries, people wanted revenge. Many of the citizens of the Emperor's Entente had supported the war, and now they were living in relative squalor. They wanted revenge, to see their people on top of the world, rather than taking the scraps from everyone else. These sentiments bred extremism in each of the defeated countries, and terrorist groups arose, groups who each wanted to put their country's people on top. Which brings us to the present.

The year is now 2039, thirteen years since the end of the war. The aforementioned terrorist groups have gained quite the foothold in the world, and their activities make the evening news nearly every day. The big three of these groups, the Shadow Cabal, the Talons, and the United Brothers, have been meeting, discussing the formation of one large group, made out of their smaller ones. Recently, an attack was made on the British royal family by the Talons, and the British government is calling for action. The world needs heroes. And so the world is going to get some. The UN has decided to reenact the Sentinel Program, calling in people from all across the globe to become part of it. From former Sentinels to former criminals, they are in desperate of aid in the fight against those who would see the world plunged into chaos. The Sentinels have been called to arms.

Will had been slightly impressed by Bryson's display. It was an interesting power that much was sure, and as he thought about it, it seemed to explain some of his odder tendencies. Like the talking to himself for instance. Shrugging, he turned as the professor began to list off the names for groups. He grimaced slightly as he found that he and Sophie would be paired up, and rolled his eyes at her protests, scoffing at her hypocrisy.

He walked over to join them, a smirk on his face. "Come on, Soph. I haven't proven anything about not wanting to work together. You however, did set me on fire. Just a thought," he said, turning away from her before she could even respond. He looked to the professor next, as the two newbies came running in. "If I must be in a group with She Who Will Not Be Named, can I at least have one of the late kids with me?" he asked, glancing over at the new arrivals.

In Depth Appearance:
Tess is a pretty girl, that much is certain. Her red hair falls to just below her shoulders, and shapes her face almost perfectly. Living in an area where it's snowing most of the year has left her with ivory skin, though she also suspects that this is thanks to her mother. She's not particularly tall, only standing at about 5'6, and weighing in at about 135 pounds. Years on the track and field team have left her with toned arms and legs. She doesn't where too much makeup, eye shadow and lipstick most of the time but that's really where she draws the line. Her eyes are a brilliant green, and many a boy has compared them to tiny emeralds, which never ceases to make her laugh, inviting the two dimples in her cheeks to come out.

Clothing Style:
Tess dresses rather conservatively compared to many other girls she knows. She prefers pants and over sized sweatshirts, to anything that shows of a lot of skin, although in the summer time, you'll often catch her walking around in shorts and a tank top. She prefers to wear lighter colors, yellows and greens, even blues, and she tends to stay away from blacks and greys.

To many, Tess seems like she has enough pep that nothing could keep her down. She's always got a smile on her face, and is easily one of the friendliest people at the academy, always being the first to greet someone. She's a loyal friend, who would stop at nothing to aid those in need. She's an adventurous girl, and if you're close with her, count on being dragged along on some sort of escapade, into the woods or on some sort of scavenger hunt. Tess has a way of making a dull day seem impossibly fun. But enemies of Tess beware. Her fuse is short, and her penchant for melodrama makes her seem like a nuclear explosion when things piss her off. And as much as she cares for her friends, it's not uncommon for her to focus a little to much on herself, and forget to acknowledge her friend's problems.

Background:
Harrison Galloway was dumbstruck when he met Tess' mother. The goddess Artemis had appeared to him as a feisty red head, who loved to hunt. The two soon fell deeply in love, and within a year of meeting one another, they were married. After the wedding, Artemis revealed who she was to Harrison, but he couldn't have cared less. He was with the woman he loved, and that was all that mattered.

Tess was born the next year, and she lived a relatively normal life, at least early on. Her mother was around for quite a bit of her life, and she would take the young girl out into the woods, where animals would flock around them. As she grew older, her affinity for archery became prominent, as well as her skills with animals. And while she always knew there was something strange about her mother, she never suspected the truth.

When she was sixteen, her parents sat her down, and told her everything, before going on to suggest that she go to Olympus Academy, to train and hone her skills as a demigod. She was overjoyed. Finally, there was a chance at adventure, away from the small town she'd grown up in. At the academy, Tess flourished, making more friends than she had ever had, and proving herself as a capable fighter and student.

Relationship With Godly Parent:
Surprisingly good. Artemis was present for Tess' childhood, and so they are much closer than many other demigods are with their parents, although finding out that she had siblings that were born after her, during her parents marriage was hard to wrap her head around.

Godly Abilities:
Right On The Mark - Being a daughter of the goddess of the hunt, Tess has excellent aim. She finds that her skills are best with bows, but she can be incredibly accurate with throwing knives as well.

Snow White In The Flesh - Tess has a natural affinity with animals, and while she can't necessarily speak to them, she can understand their methods of communication, and can easily calm them.

Catch Me If You Can - Tess is much faster than your average human, and has much faster reflexes, thanks to her mother being one of the more agile goddesses.
