Alright, so for all the newcomers (and anyone who's unpaired, really), here is the updated list of paired and unpaired characters. if you can't decide what class to be, you can see which class has less. And instead of saying, "who wants to partner?", find someone of the other class from the list and PM them if you like their character, because everyone's waiting to be found right now. Be proactive, reach out and touch someone.

Also as someone mentioned, no, I am not a co-GM in any way. i am merely volunteering my effort to create some order because I want this RP to succeed. I fritzed out a bit earlier because I saw things becoming considerably more disorderly. But that's OK, after updating the list, I see things aren't so messy. I apologize and ask for forgiveness if I offended anyone.

And please let me know if there is an error with the list.

EDIT: I should also reiterate that your name being on this list is no indication that the GM has accepted your character in any way. Since I'm not the GM or Co-GM, I have no authority to accept any characters.

One assumes that if someone bothers to post in the thread, it's because it has drawn interest, and telling people to kindly GTFO and not clutter the OOC seems counterproductive as it annoys potential players and prevents interaction between people who might later roleplay with one another. Also I don't see your name as a co-gm, so...yeah. I'm actually interested in joining, I just find the lack of definition for a mage's abilities beyond "tell us abour your familiar" to be quite silly. The intro states a mage gets great magical power which, much like the weapon and familiar, I would assume is intrinsically linked to the person, yet there's no option to detail any potential magic abilities, unpolished or otherwise. At this point mage characters are more like animal handlers.

You're right, I've said too much. Speed posting just always makes me panic.

Uggh, if you've no intention to join, could you kindly stop cluttering up our OOC with your semantic criticisms? It's coming pretty close to spam-levels of interference. Or did I just feed the trolls with that statement?

@Hero - check the pairing list and find somone vwho's unpaired, read through their character description, and find one you'd like to partner with. Contact that character's RPer either in this thread or PM to ask if they want to partner with you.

Also, Drake Baku, I think your mage also has too many starting abilities and/or magic specializations. You can probably leave the spells off entirely, maybe if you want you can say that he'll have an affinity for a certain type of magic once he begins learning, something like that. No offense.

So here's my character, partner and sister to Derpestein's Graian Darkeyes. I hope it doesn't suffer from the character problems Varionus mentioned:

Name: Maya Darkeyes
Age: 19
Gender: Female

Appearance:

Golden brown eyes, long, sea-green hair, tall. (Minus the schoolgirl outfit of course.)

Personality: Confident, responsible, dependable, cheerful, outgoing, Maya at first glance looks like a delicate palace rose, but her words and actions speak otherwise. She is surprisingly inelegant and unrefined, though she at least manages to not be rude for the most part. She always leaps before she looks and thinks that any problem can be solved with a bit of elbow grease, any conflict can be resolved with a bit of roughhousing. She doesn't dislike 'girly' things; she simply prefers 'boy' stuff, and has an intense obsession for metalworking and loves to admire armor and weapons. She is quite academically challenged.

Disabilities: None, unless you consider simple-mindedness a disability.

Equipment:

She brought this suit of armor from home with her when she realized she would be becoming a knight, unaware that armor wasn't a mandatory aspect of being a knight. (Minus the battleaxe and shield, Sadame needs NO SHIELD!) I entirely expect people to confuse her for a man in this armor.

History: The firstborn to the Darkeyes House, Maya was groomed to be a noblewoman from birth, but she would always be the one bringing frogs to show the other nobles' daughters, or leading the other nobles' sons out to climb trees or scuffle in the mud. She and her brother rarely saw eye to eye, while he excelled in academics, she suffered, where she was physically stronger, he was weaker. Where she tried to please those around her and make friends, he was snarky, sarcastic and standoffish. She felt it was her duty as the older sibling to teach him respect, but this only made him resent her older-sibling authority even more. In the end, Maya is more worried for Graian's future as a nobleman, since he would ultimately be the one inheriting the Darkeyes name, and a noble who alienated himself was just asking for trouble.

Artifact: The Mortal Coil: A chain-sickle
Artifact description/pic:

The Mortal Coil is a chain of indefinite length stored within the shadows of Maya's armor. One end is a small sickle, the other is a weight. It's ability is defensive, it can be projected from the cracks of Maya's armor as multiple chains that intertwine in a spiderweb fashion, creating a defensive and immovable screen. The screen is 15 feet to either side, and 15 feet high, with Maya at the origin of the semicircle. While the screen is active, it and Maya cannot move. For offense, Maya can swing the chain around and use the sickle. It would make for an effective, close-to-medium range weapon, but for the time being, Maya does not have the finesse to use it to its full potential, and uses it much the same way a biker might use a chain.

Other: Though Maya grew up in luxury, she doesn't differentiate between high-quality and low-quality, she can enjoy peasant's food just as merrily as a five-course meal, wear denim just as comfortably as a silk dress, and sleep just as soundly on a straw cot as a goose-down pillow.

Hey all, don't forget to check the pairing list though I haven't updated it with the most recent changes yet. I will be busy for the rest of the day, but it should be a good jumping off point for those still looking for a partner. I will post agin when it is updated.

Also, Drake Baku, I have read your character and am in the process of making my own. So just to reiterate, our characters will be starting as friends, and maybe will progress from there?
