I'll be going on a two week vacation starting tomorrow and don't know how often I'll have Internet access. Thank you for your patience. I'll try to be more regular when I get back.

Tera took Blythe's silence as criticism. Maybe Tera shouldn't be listening to baseless rumors in the first place. Maybe this conflict was too big for them as soldiers to truly comprehend. As she pondered this, Israfil spoke up, "I'm going to go check on Solomon, see if he's ok."
I'm probably going to officially end this RP. I think I need to reassess my ability to properly pace an RP so players stay excited and involved as well as practice being more assertive in the future. A bunch of stuff happened and I've sort of lost steam, and I doubt there's momentum left in this RP to revive it.

So yeah, thanks to everyone for sticking around and participating, but rather than leaving people hanging, I'm unambiguously closing this RP. I sort of feel bad doing this as the GM, so I'm sorry. I hope people had fun while it lasted.

"Well, I think we should learn as much as we can about the conflict that we're involved in," Tera said, hopefully without seeming too critical. At first, Blythe's statement came as a surprise, but Tera realized that it came less out of any sense of blind obedience and more out of a sense of apathy. "I'm wondering if these ships even belong to Homeworld. Rumors are saying another organization is helping them."
Dang, 24 hours and already on the second page? I didn't want to have to do this, but BUMP.
"It's amazing that such a complex system exists," Tera added, "though I'm curious how our Concert is going to deal with all these enemy ships. I considering we took out the main Homeworld base on Cepheus, I'm surprised this much of their force still exists."
Before I get into my RP idea, first some rules.

1. My usual posting frequency is 3-4 posts every week. I'm pretty busy at work most of the time, but I may post more if I'm really inspired. I expect something along those lines from my partners. Anything less than that from my end, and I will give notification for the reason, usually in advance.

2. I consider my posts 'free-casual quality'. I only occasionally give one-liners, usually if my characters are in conversation or combat, and I'm just trying to progress things while still giving my partner a chance to react to things. If I'm having difficulty coming up with something to write, I might put up a short post just to inch things forward, since I prefer that to letting an RP sit there and get stale. I usually have decent 1-2 paragraph-length posts though.

3. I have very few limits really, but I'm not looking for smut right now (unless you ask really nicely). Our characters can have romances, but it won't get into smut, so this frees up age restrictions for characters. I am ok RPing abusive relationships if we do something dark, but I don't want to glorify abusive relationships. Rape, coercion, lack of consent, etc. should not be considered 'normal, acceptable, human behavior', and I will not easily forgive or sympathize with abusers. They can be well-written, vital characters, but don't sugarcoat the severity of their crimes.

4. I'm kind of a grammar Nazi, but mostly to myself. If you can get your point across, I'll probably be ok with it.

Now onto the good stuff. I'm looking for a magical girl (and boy) RP. One that's hopefully not too grim-dark. while I enjoyed the anime Mahou Shoujo Madoka Magica, I recognize its problematic elements and that it has unfortunately spawned a wave of 'dark magical girl' anime. While I'm all for drama and pain, I think it's become a little tiring (and very sexist) to see young girls suffer for our entertainment over and over again. It's not like classical magical girl anime didn't have drama and pain. A lighthearted anime can have as much depth as a 'dark and gritty' one. That said, if our RP heads towards being dark, that's fine, I just don't want it to get to a point where we are torturing our characters for some perverse enjoyment.

Sorry for getting a little political there. Anyways, now I'm going to list out some ideas I had. These are just potential ideas, feel free to add your own or reject the ones I have here since I would like to world-build with you, create a team of 4-6 magical girls (or boys!), figure out their theme and rules for powers, what enemies they're fighting, setting, etc.

1. Magical girls in space. It's the future with high tech, scifi, space travel, and stuff, but the eldritch denizens of space make space travel difficult, and only cybernetically enhanced (sufficiently advanced science is indistinguishable from magic) children can stave off the alien madness. Our characters would be assigned to a colony ship on its way to a distant alien planet while the horrors come a-knockin'.

2. Cute pet mentors. Not exactly a twist, you say? Well, what if that pet used to be human, or someone the magical person knew but doesn't recognize, and who, for various reasons, cannot reveal who they are or chooses not to? This could fit with the above idea if a human mind was transferred into the body of a robot pet or something.

3. Philosophy. In the same vein, we can explore deeper ideas, specifically, transhumanism: the belief or theory that the human race can evolve beyond its current physical and mental limitations, especially by means of science and technology. How much humanity are we willing to give up to either improve ourselves, or simply to survive against terrors that seek to overwhelm us?

4. I enjoy romance, but since our characters will be children, let's keep it to kissing, puppy love, and dating or whatever. I can RP in forums or PMs as you like.

That's pretty much it, so I'll add a few more tidbits.

I'm a cis-het male and play both genders though I may veer towards asexual orientation. I have been told that I play a specific female archetype very well. I have no qualms playing characters in any relationship or orientation, and I generally play multiple characters. I honestly don't take my character's sexual orientation into account when designing or playing my characters, so they often come out as ambiguously bi or simply non-sexual. This may be because I veer towards asexual, or maybe it comes from a cis-het place of privilege where I've never had to worry about my sexual orientation in the first place. If you're non-gender binary, I hope nothing I've said is offensive, I'm still slowly learning.

I think that's it. If I've left anything out, please ask me.

"The mission was difficult," Israfil replied, "But the lieutenant protected me, and QAZ kept an eye out for enemies. I scored a lot of...kills..." his voice started excitedly but dropped off as he grappled with the realization that the strikecraft he shot down had pilots. He even successfully stopped one of the enemy battlecruisers by bombarding the bridge with lasers until he blew a hole through it. He thought about what the bridge looked like, with bridge officers sitting at their consoles. He felt a bit of guilt, but what worried him more was how little of it he felt. Trying to change the subject, he continued, "I-I think I'm getting the hang of Orpheus, though I don't think I've unlocked anything yet. I think it's cool that you can combine."
"In space combat, there are no infantry, so one does not actually get to see corpses in space. All damage simply appears to be structural, so it's much easier to forget that you are killing people," Sion said, though this made Israfil fidget a little since the only reason he wasn't shocked from battle is because the destruction he had caused with Orpheus only resembled demolition and not murder. "I thought this difference would be enough for Ms. Rivers to overcome her inhibitions. Most people think leadership is a privilege, it seems that you two know as well as I do that it is a burden, and that...that only makes you more qualified than Lear to lead." Sion wasn't really sure where he was going with this, perhaps he had tried to avoid the responsibility of leadership for too long and this was the fruit that he reaped. As much of a hard front as he put on, the truth was he preferred to either obey or operate independently. In actuality, he should have led the second team instead of going off by himself, but he wasn't ready to admit that yet.

"RHS, that's enough," Maya put a hand on Sion's shoulder. Then, addressing the sisters, "You two did well, despite our mistakes, but that doesn't justify the choices we made. We'll take what you've said into consideration, and I'll overlook your tone with Lieutenant RHS. RHS, you can forgive her for that, right?"

Sion looked at Maya and muttered, "...fine..."

"Well, everyone's dismissed until the next assignment, which won't be for a while, we've got to process these freighters," Maya said. Her and Sion headed out of the Hangar.
Thanks for the update and welcome back!
