I'll be going on a two week vacation starting tomorrow and don't know how often I'll have Internet access. Thank you for your patience. I'll try to be more regular when I get back.

"I see a cart!" Emtardas said, taking a few steps forward. Then turning to Reas, "Go get Malkas, I'm sure he'll want to meet our new merchant."

"I thought you wanted me to watch the shop," Reas said.

"Get going!" Emtardas yelled. As Reas slowly made zir way back to the village, Emtardas approached the caravan. He turned to Illithor, "Welcome to our humble village. I'm Emtardas, the general store owner, and the one you'll most likely be doing the most business with. I presume you're our new traveling merchant?"

Back in town, Reas went straight to Malkas' house and let him know that the caravan had arrived. Ze then went back to the store and checked the clipboard for any orders that had been placed.
"It's pretty tiring," Israfil said between breaths, "I need to build up my endurance, but I think I could get the hang of it after a while. Is running one of your preferred exercises or something else?"

"I suppose I should let you get to your training then?" the screen asked, realizing that it had interrupted Claire from what she had been planning to do.
Morning dawned on Soren, a small, independent village founded on racial harmony. The citizens awoke, and went about their daily business. One citizen in particular, Emtardas, the eccentric general store owner, walked to the edge of town, peering at the horizon in anticipation.

"What are you looking for?" asked the small, dark-skinned young child behind him in a deadpan voice.

"Reas! Get back to the store and man the counter!" Emtardas said, exasperated.

"I left clipboard out so our customers can write their requests in. I'll deliver the goods afterwards," Reas explained.

"Still, it leaves a bad impression if our customers can't get what they want when they want, and instead have to wait for your delivery..." Emtardas explained, but Reas refused to budge, staring up at him with zir piercing, red eyes. "...fine, the traveling merchant that used to come? She's retiring, but she told me she'd find someone to replace her. We've recently run out of a few things so I'm waiting for the caravan to arrive and to see what her replacement's like."

"I'll keep watch; you should go back to the shop, our customers are waiting," Reas said, not without a little mischief.

"You get back to work!" Emtardas cried.
Alright, finally done with the characters. I'll make an opening post.

EDIT: I was having a hard time finding orc pictures that were peaceful and non-threatening and failed, so I decided no pictures for the house of Grom.
After a short while, the jogging started getting strenuous for Israfil, but the treadmill recommended that he stay on for a bit longer so he persevered. He admired how Mike seemed to not only be handling the jogging, but increasing the speed over time.

"I scan your neural signature when you enter, I'll be sure not to make my presence known if anyone else comes in." The screen replied.
"I see," Israfil said, and headed for a treadmill. It took a bit of time for him to sync his drive to it so that it would keep track of his progress for him and started jogging at a moderate pace.

"Not supposed to happen? What do you mean? What will happen if people find out about me?" While text on a screen couldn't properly convey emotion, there was a sense of panic.
Hey, sorry for the delay, I didn't have time to post last night. Also, I'll get the other RP started soon-ish (I know I've been saying that, but I mean it this time).
At the gym, Israfil looked around, a bit flustered. It was clear he hadn't exercised often in the past and wasn't sure where to start. "What's your usual routine?" Israfil asked, hoping to mimic Mike.

"The first? That is unsettling. Are the others expected to begin communicating any time soon?" the screen asked.
"Maybe I will," Israfil said, "What do you like to do for fun? I usually just play games on my drive, though as a solider, I'm required to stay in shape and have been meaning to take up some sort of sport. We don't have many options on this ship, but i hear there's a recreation center near the cafeteria and that the gym is pretty good too."

"Different? You mean the other cogs are like me, but not? How different? Have the other cogs started communicating with their pilots?" The screen bombarded Claire with questions.
Shizuka followed Shou to his office at his prompting. When he mentioned his lack of sleep, she replied, "I understand, I've heard being a professor is a demanding lifestyle. Please take better care of yourself. I know work is your top priority, but you can't do good research if you're not feeling well." She still misconstrued his tiredness as being due to work.

However, when Shou approached her suddenly, she stared up into his eyes, confused and slightly startled, forgetting even to breathe for a short moment, and when he knelt down, Shizuka cringed imperceptibly, before she realized that he was inspecting the hamsters. She loosened up a bit now that she knew why he had approached so suddenly. "Of course, he's curious about the hamsters," she thought to herself. This thought had a calming effect on her; she didn't know what to do when she got undue personal attention.

When he complimented her on her care of the animals, she smiled a little, "These hamsters were originally part of an animal testing group, but they were injured during the trial and rejected. My professor thought it would be a good opportunity for me to treat them and nurse them back to health." Shizuka was glad Shou was fine with an animal cage being in his office, some people didn't like the smell, or were afraid of the bedding getting everywhere. She found his tolerance and concern for the animals charming. "I need to take these guys back though, but if there's anything about your biology class that you want to talk to me about, I can swing right back." Shizuka doubted it since classes had only been going for a short time, and there wasn't anything to grade yet, but she thought she'd ask just in case.
