Emtardas came back with a young dwarf with red hair. Slightly out of breath, Emtardas said, "This is Ryul, our new merchant, Ryul, this is Gil, apprentice carpenter. There are more coming, I got one of the kids to help me get more people."

"Pleasure to meet you," Gil said, extending a hand. "I hear you've got some orders for my father's goods?" he said, making small talk while helping to unload.

"No, I haven't," Reas replied, "I only saw the caravan before father told me to watch the store."

"Mr. Elliot!" Kalram, a young elf boy said as he went into the blacksmith's shop, "Mr. Emtardas said that the merchant's here and needs help unloading the carts."
Solomon was about to retort, but then thought better of it. He wanted to stay hidden; he didn't want to go back to the infirmary. He didn't want to do anything in particular with his freedom, he just had a mischievous desire to not be controlled. "Sure, why not," he said, getting on a bicycle machine and started pedaling.

"So...you're really OK? No headaches? nosebleeds?" Israfil asked, concerned.

"I'm fine," Solomon said, sounding mildly annoyed.

I updated my previous-previous-post to include Shizuka's interactions with Shou.
Interested! need to think up a character now.

I'm guessing it's implied that consciousnesses transferred into Automata via palladium may be altered or modified. Can an automaton whose consciousness comes from a donor be made to believe that they never had a human body to begin with, that they are an AI even though they're not? Just curious because having a subservient AI might be desirable were it not for the difficulty of making one, so using an existing consciousness as a template might be more feasible. I might make a character like this if it is allowed.
Israfil was really enjoying the bicycle machine because he was sitting, and could go at his own pace. Out of the corner of his eye he saw Solomon sneaking around in the hallway outside the gym. Solomon saw Israfil as well and came inside.

"Solomon! Aren't you supposed to be in bed?" Israfil whispered loudly.

"I'm fine, couldn't stand it in there any longer," Solomon replied, looking at Israfil on the bicycle with a slight condescending sneer. "What are you doing?"

"I'm just getting some exercise," Israfil said, feeling a little uncomfortable. "This is Mike Rogers, one of the engineers," Israfil introduced.

Solomon looked at Mike with passing interest, not remembering him from the shuttle. "Isn't exercise kind of pointless?" he said, "The only thing that matters is our minds."

"Well..." Israfil's ability to come up with a response was never very good.
It's been a while. Still really in the mood for a super sentai or magical girl team RP. Open to brainstorming ideas and plots.

"Alright, we'll let you two unpack your belongings," Malkas said, "If you need anything, Anya will usually be in our side of the building, Teann's usually around the front desk or kitchen, oh, and I have a son, Kalram, if he's not running chores, then he could be anywhere. We're planning on having a modest dinner for the whole village. It's a good opportunity to meet everyone." Malkas, Anya, Harin, Grom, and Teann left Illithor and Talila to their business.

"Yes, well, normally I'd call my child, Reas to go fetch some help, but ze's not here right now, probably ran off somewhere. I'll be right back," Emtardas said leaving, and muttering under his breath.

Reas listened intently to Elizabeth's words, trying to learn what ze could. Then a though crossed zir mind, "If there are new people, Mr. Malkas will probably have a village dinner." Ze remembered when Elizabeth came, as well as when Eline and Elliot came, that such a thing had happened.
[Between noon and 3:00PM]

After leaving campus, Shizuka headed to the Shining Kettle for the lunch shift. She got into her maid uniform and started waiting tables. It was another slow day though; the Mochavine was drawing a lot more business. Close to the end of her shift, she was serving two young men who were using the coffee table to play a collectible card game. Shizuka found herself curiously drawn to the match, though the two seemed to be arguing about something. One of them saw Shizuka lingering near their table and called to her, "Hey, sorry to bother you, but can you do us a favor?"

"Yes, how may I help you?" Shizuka asked.

"Well my friend here's kind of a jerk, an elitist, really, who thinks that this game 'isn't for everyone'," he said amid protests from his friend, "I, on the other hand, think that this is none of those 'easy to learn, hard to master' situations. Anyways, we sort of made a bet, and if it's not too troublesome, I'd like you to play match with my friend."

"I see," Shizuka said. At first she wanted to refuse, but she was curious about the game, and her shift was practically over. "Why not?"

"Great," the man said, scooting over to let Shizuka sit down. "You'll be using my deck. My friend is familiar with it, so he can't say I cheated and made it easier for you or anything. Let me know if you have any questions."

Shizuka took the deck and looked over the cards, while the man explained the core gameplay and basic rules. Shizuka could see from the card descriptions that the man had put some effort into optimizing his deck and taking advantage of the specific mechanics of the cards. Giving the cards another once over, Shizuka declared that she was ready.

The first few turns were fairly uneventful, mostly both sides farming power, and laying some defensive groundwork with the occasional preemptive strike. However, Shizuka's opponent began throwing down some very effective card combinations, while making some newbie mistakes herself. However, Shizuka was able to recover and even to push back. Then Shizuka got a devastating card combination that worked well with the groundwork that she had already laid down and won a surprising victory.

"I can't believe this!" the man's friend said, though he was more surprised than angry.

"Ha! Cough up the money!" the man said, "That was incredible, you learned really quickly, and adapted really well. How did you like it though?"

"I thought...it was pretty fun," Shizuka said, feeling a little embarrassed.

"You wanna get into the game?" the man asked.

"Perhaps..." Shizuka asked, unsure what was required.

"Great! Hey, meet us at the Lancom Arcade alter, we'll get you started."

"S-sure," Shizuka replied. Heading to the back, Shizuka changed back to her normal clothes and checked her phone to see Nick's message.

[After 3:00PM]

Shizuka arrived at the fountain where she said she would meet Nick. Looking around, she saw him, looking like the pictures on his online profile, or at least his most recent picture, given how often he changed his hair color. She approached cautiously. "H-hello? Are you Mr. Weston?" She asked.
"Here you are," Malkas said, showing them to their room. It wasn't big, but it didn't feel cramped. At the moment, all the rooms at the inn were unoccupied. "We usually house new residents at the inn until our carpenter, Harin can build a house for them. Otherwise, we don't usually get many guests except for maybe a few adventurers just passing through every once in a while."

By this time, Teann returned with Harin, a short thick dwarf with graying red hair, and Grom, a strong, muscular orc with black hair. "These are Harin, our carpenter, and Grom, our hunter and rancher," Malkas introduced, "While I am the mayor, these two are, along with me, co-founders of Soren. These are Illithor, a fisherman, and his girlfriend, Talila, our new citizens."

"Welcome," Harin said stroking his flaming red beard, "We can talk about the specifications for your new house over dinner."

"Welcome to Soren," Grom said. Unlike other orcs Illithor may have seen, Grom did not have fangs. Without fangs, he appeared much friendlier, and also did not suffer from bad breath, "It will be good to have an alternative source of food, especially during bad years."

Emtardas looked over the list. "Looks like Harin's handiwork is gaining a reputation. Hmm...there seems to be a need for wool too...are people expecting a harsh winter? Alright, we'll prepare these items in preparation for your next visit. I have the items that were ordered previously in the warehouse. Would you like any help loading and unloading? I could always call some of the younger folk."

Reas looked at the medicine cabinet. "Which ones can be found around Soren?"
"Well anyways, I'm rambling," Chief Link said, "if you have any problems with your cog, please let us know. I'll let you get back to your training."
